Summer was slowly coming.
It was no longer as cold as before.
The chirping of birds was on the streets even though the sun had not risen.
Jun had left the clinic just at this time, before the sun rose, before the day began. He hadn't slept at night. First he made his bed, put his things away, and then he left quietly.
Levi hadn't said anything last night, Levi had left the clinic when Jun went to bed, and now Jun was leaving the clinic and the town for good.
It had to be like this or Levi could get hurt, the patients were affected by even a small rumour and didn't want to come to the clinic anymore. It was best to leave.
Jun left the clinic with these thoughts.
He examined the street for the last time and started to walk out of the town without looking back.
A few hours later he arrived outside the town. He sat in the shade of a tree and tried to decide where to go.
'What difference does it make,' he thought, 'Wetherbrook, I should walk there for a few days. I've heard there's a little stream and an old bridge in Wetherbrook. Hmm, maybe Eldhollow, I think it was an inauspicious place. I'm inauspicious myself, it might be a good fit...
I wonder what Norleigh's like. Maybe it's a wooded area.
I've got to get as far away from here as possible.
Jun continued to sit under the tree with these thoughts, it was now noon. 'Levi must be awake, drinking his tea and having his breakfast. Maybe he even treated a few patients. In a few days the patients will forget everything.
Levi will forget too... maybe.' he thought.
He quickly got up from under the tree he was sitting under and started to walk away from the town. Although he didn't know where he was going, all he wanted to do now was to get away from here, otherwise he could go back to Levi, he could go back all the way back to look at his face once, but no, he had to get away, he walked quickly and followed the road where the horse carriages passed and moved towards another town.
Jun continued his journey, sometimes slowly, sometimes quickly, sometimes stopping, and in the evening, as the sun was setting, he came to a town called Redmarsh. The streets were quiet. A few shops were getting ready to close. Jun quickly entered the alleys.
These places - alleyways - were the places he knew best. But there was a problem: Someone had been following him since he entered Redmarsh. He couldn't recognise who it was. Maybe it was another beggar, he thought, maybe it was the most powerful beggar here - after all, there were them in every town.
Whoever this person was, he was dressed in black and covered his face with a hat. His steps were sure, but it was as if he wanted to hurry and was afraid at the same time.
Jun found a place in the alley where he could call himself 'safe'. He had walked almost all day and his legs ached. He put his back against the wall, put his head on the iron staircase next to him and closed his eyes to forget the pain of being alone again on the street he had been away from for so long...
He didn't know how long he slept, but the footsteps approaching his surroundings were enough to wake him up. It had been a long time since he had slept on the street, he had some difficulty lifting his neck from the iron ladder, slowly opened his eyes and there was a person dressed in black.
The night was already dark, and this man was dressed in black, who was he, why was he here ...
Jun had no idea about all this.
The man took off his hat and took a step closer.
-'Levi,' Jun said. - Don't be ridiculous, he thought, I must be dreaming.
-'You're not the only one who can't control himself,' Levi said. With a trembling voice...
