"Where are we going old man?"
I was walking with the old man to his secret place where he promised me to train and work with me. Although I was not interested in it but as he is going to give me a thousand gold coins in advance... Then I think it's just a win win situation for me.
The sun had rose and we finally reached his shelter... which made me sweat a little bit... it was too much old and small. I couldn't find gold coins there but I was always learnt to never judge a book by its cover. With such great learnings, I finally sat on the ground and the old man went in his shelter.
I thought to myself, "Am I being trapped or something? Or this all is possible to happen? Why he chose me only at first place? Because of my strength?"
Many questions were wandering in my mind. I also took out the form and thought to join Academy instead--
"So they also gave you the addmission form? You are really lucky."
The old man had came and I looked at him... He was holding a suitcase full of gold coins.
... But still I couldn't believe in it and picked up one coin and bit it... It was looking like gold and it was looking like of not too much precious gold, around 12 to 17 karat I guessed.
The old man smiled and gave a sigh, "What would be the value of this gold?"
And he sat next to me and I estimated and gave my guess, "... 12 to 17 karat gold?"
The guy laughed, "It's of 11 karat, gold coins are of 11 karat. There's no gold coin more than that value, although gold things could be of more."
My guess was wrong and I kept the coin back in the suitcase.
"But I am impressed that a kid of 8 could try to find the value of gold, your guess was almost near to correct. Are you, by any chance, a merchant's kid?"
Here, there's no such device to know its value and purity so Gold Magicians have to be used to find this out.
"No--"
The old man laughed gently, "There's no way someone could find the value of gold in reality, not even merchants."
I knew about it, merchants can't find out the purity of the gold by just a bite.
"But you estimated close, can you find the purity and weight of it?"
"... I can guess but my answer was wrong."
The old man looked at me with a smile, "... It's 14 karat, I lied."
And I was surprised, my guess was in between and I was amazed by knowing.
I looked at the coins and started staring deeply.
And the old man started laughing, "You can't believe in me? It's rude."
I looked at him with a sweat and closed the suitcase with finally showing that I am trusting in him, I have never got a coin as my income till now but he is giving me that, what's more good than that?
I stood and with holding the suitcase, I came on the main topic, "Talks aside, what will we be doing and what will you train me for?"
The old man also stood and replied, "I was once a head of a community. Our jobs will be related to it only..."
"Like?"
The old man smiled, "... Like robbing evil's money."
My favourite work it became just in a second. Taking money from evil will be my first priority.
"By doing frauds, assassination, attacking at headquarters."
I was frozen... "It means... we will become criminals?"
"We both already are."
I was started sweating by his reply... I can accept that because I killed three humans.
"But we will also work for Academy. So we will not become too much bad."
I started sweating more... But gave a sigh with finally accepting, "Fine, what's your plan?"
"Plans are simple and straight forward. I will tell you about it one by one. But firstly, we will get trained, then I will test you once and then our missions will start."
"Roger that." I said with a lazy face and with no spirit and tiredness, I started leaving.
"You can sleep." The old man commanded, "We will start our training from afternoon or evening, then your test will be done tomorrow morning."
I gave a sigh, all of a sudden I started feeling lazy and finally decided to sleep.
Syli opened his eyes and he was in the Academy in his room and woke up with laziness.
He yawned loudly.
"My lord, you are awake? Get ready for the entrance ceremony."
Syli looked in front and there was, Alyn. She is going to serve him for today and will leave after sometime.
Syli suddenly smiled, "... Yung must be dead till now... Such a pig she was."
Alyn smiled and put some tea in the cup from the kettle and commented, "She has lived 8 years, she deserved to die. And she was useless anyways."
Syli smiled, "Indeed" and went to get ready.
Syli was dressed in royal costumes and everyone was staring at him in the hall like the ceremony is for him only.
"Kity... Don't you miss Yung?"
"Yeah... She was the strongest between everyone but even till the end, we hated her. I wish she would be here."
But there were two girls talking and ignoring Syli. They were Eleesa and Kity.
"But if she came..." They both started sweating and looked at each other, "... She will destroy our lives and careers."
Syli couldn't understand that why they two can't look at him and about what are they even talking?
But Eleesa was looking like a princess and he smiled and came in front of them and bent down and gave a hand in front of Eleesa.
"Would you like to hold my hand, lady?"
Eleesa and Kity were left stunned for a second... But suddenly started laughing. Everyone by looking at them also started laughing.
Eleesa and Kity just ignored and started leaving with still laughing.
"Just think, if Yung would be here... Would she laugh?"
And they both were stunned and started thinking for the answer. But they knew.
"Nah, she was a cow in the starting and she was never interested in these things either."
