Chapter 36 - Something Special for Her

Just as Li Shen and Li Xun were about to leave the city, Li Shen quickly turned his head back. Using his ability to detect spiritual auras and energy, he sensed several small battles taking place within the city.

Li Shen stopped in his steps, his attitude making Li Xun curious. The woman turned her head back to see what her father was looking at.

"There's no mistake. These are battles between fellow practitioners," Li Shen replied.

"What's happening, Father?" Li Xun asked curiously.

"I sense fluctuations in spiritual energy. It seems that there is a battle involving two groups of practitioners," Li Shen explained.

"What? A battle? But this is the capital. Won't the Qing Palace intervene?" Li Xun asked.

There were only two possibilities: either the Qing Palace didn't want to get involved, or it was a battle involving the Qing Palace. Either way, the battle wasn't good for anyone, especially Li Shen.

"We mustn't get involved. We have to leave immediately," said Li Shen.

Li Xun nodded. They flew quickly away from the city to return to Gong City. In Li Shen's opinion, the battle must involve two large families of cultivators, possibly the Tang Family against the Yuan Family.

The two successfully avoided Qing City, but Li Shen felt guilty about the conflict. If Li Shen had not asked Yuan Mei for help, perhaps this conflict would never happened.

However, if Li Shen were to compete against them on behalf of the Li family, a significant problem would befall the Li family.

A pillar of spiritual energy light emanated strongly from within the city. Li Shen and Li Xun stopped flying and immediately turned to look at the light.

"That's a teleportation altar," replied Li Xun.

"Do you know what it is?"

"Yes, Father. A teleportation altar is a method of transporting people by activating a teleportation token. Only three great cultivator families have the right to use the altar," explained Li Xun.

"That light could mean someone is leaving or someone is coming," said Li Xun.

If the teleportation altar was working at full capacity, Li Shen hoped that the Yuan family would reconsider their plans and return to their residence safely.

Li Shen had more important matters to attend to than their dispute. He had to return home immediately to inform Ruo Fei of the good news he had received. Li Xun also needed to return to the Li family residence.

"Let's go," said Li Shen, flying off in another direction.

Li Xun nodded, ignoring the pillar of light in Qing City and flying after Li Shen.

Their journey had to part ways when Li Xun arrived above Gong City. It was almost evening, and Li Xun had to rest and resume her cultivation. Li Shen bid her farewell.

"So, did you get the Rain Pearl Essence Liquid?" asked Li Xun.

Feeling that the situation in the city was much safer, Li Shen patted his magic pouch and took out the pearl bottle. Li Xun gasped, her eyes widening and sparkling with joy at Li Shen's success in obtaining the material.

"I'm glad you got it," replied Li Xun.

"This item is being fought over by the Tang Family, so I must be careful when using it later," replied Li Shen, putting the bottle back in his pouch.

"I believe in you. You will definitely be able to cure Mother," said Li Xun.

Li Shen smiled slightly, gently placing his hand on Li Xun's shoulder, "I can heal her. I only need one more material, which is the Nature Baby Fruit."

"I will use my power in Gong City to help you find that material, Father," explained Li Xun.

"Thank you, Xun'er."

After saying goodbye, Li Shen flew away from Gong City and returned to Azure Hill. Now that he had obtained the two important materials for Ruo Fei's pill, Li Shen couldn't wait to show them to her.

From a distance, the Azure Pillar Sect could be seen along the horizon. Li Shen sped up his flight until he was completely inside the sect. Li Shen's swift and powerful presence was accompanied by large fluctuations of spiritual energy that spread throughout the hill.

Xiao Bai and Hao Ziyue paused their cultivation, then bowed their heads and clasped their hands together. They paid their respects to Li Shen.

"Return to your cultivation," Li Shen ordered, and they obeyed.

Li Shen turned his head forward, looking directly at the third pavilion. Once again, Li Shen flew away from the front yard of the sect until he arrived at the wooden bridge connecting the main sect building with the third pavilion.

The man landed slowly, then focused his eyes forward. Under the dazzling moonlight, Ruo Fei stood wearing a beautiful blue dress and a silver crown that tied her long black hair.

Her hair swayed gently in the breeze, and the wide smile on her pink lips captivated Li Shen's heart. For some reason, Li Shen felt himself falling in love for the second time.

Ruo Fei turned her head, sensing Li Shen's energy around her. When she looked at the wooden bridge, he was there, returning unharmed and carrying a sweet gift for her.

"Fei'er?" Li Shen greeted her.

Leaves and flower petals danced in the night air, and the moonlight reflected on the lake surface decorated with blooming lotus flowers. Ruo Fei smiled broadly.

"Li Shen," Ruo Fei replied.

Slowly, Li Shen walked across the wooden bridge to arrive at the third pavilion. His feet lifted onto the small steps until he was fully inside the pavilion, standing directly in front of Ruo Fei.

"I got it," Li Shen said.

Indeed! Ruo Fei could see it—Li Shen had obtained the Nether Flame Grass and Rain Pearl Essence Liquid. The woman in front of Li Shen knew that both materials were high-grade materials, 6th grade.

"Thank you for keeping your promise," Ruo Fei said, aware of the dangers that might await them in Qing City.

"How could I break my own promise?" Li Shen asked, putting the materials away and holding Ruo Fei's hand.

Ruo Fei was touched by his words, her eyes brimming with tears as she felt proud and lucky to have a man who loved her so sincerely. Ruo Fei tilted her head and let her body lean against Li Shen's chest. Li Shen responded by lowering his head and wrapping his arms around her, hugging Ruo Fei.

"Thank you, Li Shen."
