The sky outside the tower window began to brighten, indicating that morning had come. However, the sunlight was unable to warm the cold stones of the walls where Cecilia and King Arkadion were locked up. Inside the narrow and damp room, Cecilia sat leaning on the side of a small bed, her breathing steady even though her face looked battered. Not far from her, King Arkadion's body finally moved.
Slowly, the king opened his eyes. His vision was blurry for a moment, then quickly rounded when he saw his daughter's bruised and tired face.
"Cecilia... what happened to you?" his voice was hoarse, almost breaking because of heartbreak over his daughter's condition.
Cecilia smiled slightly when her father finally woke up. She was worried about King Arkadion's condition. Cecilia even thought about committing suicide to turn back time again. But before she could do so, Cecilia was relieved that King Arkadion had woken up first.
"You're awake, Father."
