Even exceeding 30 knots, the ship showed no structural instability. Galleons were designed for deep-sea voyages and to withstand large waves; with favorable currents and winds, they could reach speeds exceeding 11 knots. In other words, barring power limitations, a galleon's maximum speed was undefined.
With Ace's dual propulsion pushing the galleon to 30 knots, it had nearly reached its maximum speed. Further increases wouldn't damage the hull, but would severely reduce maneuverability. On the open sea, the inability to turn means death. This is why you furl sails and reduce speed in bad weather.
Returning to the shipyard, they were met with astonished stares. No one could believe a Logia-type Devil Fruit user could be used in this way. Even the Navy hadn't considered such an application.
Alistair's perspective differed fundamentally from the people of this world; he hailed from a society that valued collective industrial efforts. Therefore, his use of Devil Fruit users was unique. He used Nico Robin as an automated scribe, Enel as a large-scale power generator, and Ace as both a refinery and a power source for the ship.
This was the fundamental difference between Alistair and the people of this era. He neither over-mythologized nor unduly disparaged Devil Fruits; they were merely tools, no different in essence from a ship or a nuclear weapon. Once consumed by a human, a Devil Fruit user becomes a powerful tool of production and productivity. Most Devil Fruit users are essentially nothing more than cogs in a machine, workers.
Since they are all workers, tools, why not utilize them more thoroughly? Contributing to the revolution—isn't that beneficial?
Ace didn't know if it was beneficial, but after exploring the ship, he fell in love with it. It was a warship custom-built for him, and he no longer doubted Alistair's claim of a round trip to the East Blue within 30 days.
The only remaining concern was whether they could find Dragon, the leader of the Revolutionary Army, in the East Blue. Ace felt that even if they didn't find Dragon, it wouldn't matter; their current fighting strength was sufficient.
His assessment of the situation was overly optimistic. He even believed that even without Dragon, they could easily secure Mock Town as a revolutionary base, and significantly develop both the town and his own endeavors over the next few years. Within a few years, Mock Town could easily become his industrial base, similar to Big Mom's kingdom, impenetrable and controlling the surrounding waters, making the Navy irrelevant.
However, Ace was ultimately too naive. This naivete wasn't limited to Ace; many others, including Boa Hancock, shared the same sentiment.
Alistair, however, with his strategic vision, knew that while the paperwork for Boa Hancock's territory was being processed, CP0 spies were undoubtedly already on their way. They might not place a high priority on Hancock's territory, but it was clearly a precautionary measure. At that point, he would have to prepare for discovery by the World Government and engage in guerrilla warfare.
Before that, the development of Mock Town had to be completed. After the ship's modification project, the Mink Tribe transitioned directly into shipwrights. They possessed a certain level of skill and experience, making the transition quite natural. Curly Dad also became the captain of the Mock Town shipyard. This was a legitimate career path for them.
Their previous bounties were under the banner of the Kuja Pirates, meaning they would no longer be pursued by the Navy.
Not only the Mink Tribe, but the five hundred-strong Revolutionary Army pirates were also divided into two groups: one, the Musket Team, lacked exceptional talent but could leverage their efforts and numbers to maximize their combat effectiveness; and the other, the Special Forces, comprised of individuals with exceptional physical abilities. The Musket Team numbered around three hundred, while the Special Forces numbered around two hundred. Their responsibilities differed; besides their regular training, they were also responsible for the maintenance, upkeep, and assembly of ships in the evenings.
Compared to the Mink Tribe, they were studying even during their sleeping hours, but their strong beliefs prevented any complaints. Even the opportunists understood the value of a safe environment that provided a platform and time for self-improvement.
The true revolutionaries, needless to say, valued their time even more. Alistair had repeatedly emphasized this. They had to use this period of peace to improve their strength to survive the upcoming war to overthrow the Celestial Dragons.
For most pirates, the future is uncertain; hence their recklessness and indulgence. But this Revolutionary Army was different; they had a clear understanding and preparation for the future. Their mental preparedness surpasses that of ordinary pirates by a significant margin; this allowed them to diligently train and learn.
Beyond this, Alistair entrusted the development direction of Mock Town to Dalton and Laffitte. In addition to Dalton, Laffitte, and Hancock, several Spade Pirates officers, whose tasks had already been determined, each had their own directions and missions.
Lafitte accompanied Alistair to the East Blue, while Mihar and Van Augur became the captain and vice-captain of the Musket Team, respectively. Deuce and William became the captain and vice-captain of the Special Forces. Enel's subordinates remained on Skypiea, working to improve their lives; none were brought to the Blue Sea. Mock Town seemed to function seamlessly, even without Alistair's presence. His arrangements were impeccable; Mock Town's success seemed independent of Alistair himself.
