They drove through the quiet streets of Tokyo, the city lights casting soft reflections on the windshield.
Kyouko sat beside him, her long hair tucked behind one ear, the faintest smile playing on her lips.
She looked out the window, fingers gently resting on her lap.
Haruki glanced at her, then back at the road.
"You look happy."
She blinked, turning toward him with that same soft smile.
"Mm? Nothing…" she said lightly. "It's just… I'm happy to see the place you grew up."
Haruki smiled faintly.
He didn't say anything.

The traffic light ahead turned yellow. Haruki eased the brake.
The car slowed to a stop.
