Chapter 35 - The Dark Version of the God of Thunder – A Prince's War

There was no doubt that once the new question appeared, everyone temporarily paused their discussion and focused their attention on the new prompt.

However, as they glanced at the question, a collective wave of confusion and bewilderment swept over them.

The previous questions, in one way or another, were somewhat related to the participants. But this new question was about Thor, the God of Thunder.

It had absolutely nothing to do with the three people present.

Not only that, but the main figure in the question was a character from mythology. Forget Iron Man—even someone like Nick Fury, the master of intelligence, knew practically nothing about him.

"Thor? Nick Fury, you may only have one eye, but you see this world more clearly than anyone else."

Iron Man cast a questioning glance at Nick Fury. "What do you know about Thor?"

Nick Fury: "..."

You say I see the world clearly? Fine, I'll accept that. No one knows the secrets of this world better than I do.But what the hell does that have to do with my one eye?Was that detail necessary?

"I always thought those were just myths and legends. Only today did I realize—they're actual alien races that exist."

Nick Fury replied irritably to Iron Man, "So honestly, I don't know any more about Thor than you do."

"If that's the case, then this question might be pretty tough," said Iron Man, resting his chin on his hand with a hint of reflection.

"The only clue we currently have about Thor is that he might have participated in the Battle of New York and is Loki's brother. Aside from that, we know absolutely nothing."

Black Widow was also completely at a loss and could only try to piece together the clues they currently had.

"Besides the Battle of New York, there was also an Endgame. That was a battle against another, even stronger alien race," added Iron Man.

"Endgame?"Black Widow was stunned, clearly incredulous. "So, on top of the 'Battle of New York,' Earth will also face an 'Endgame' in the future?"

At that moment, Black Widow was clearly shaken.

Half an hour ago, the biggest threats she imagined were extremist organizations and criminal masterminds.

Now someone was telling her that Earth would be invaded by aliens—not once, but multiple times!

Even Black Widow, a top agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., couldn't keep her cool.

What the hell is going on with this world? Can we still have any fun around here?

"So you're saying that although Thor and Loki are brothers, they're very different—Loki opened a portal for the Chitauri to invade Earth, while his brother is a friend of humanity?"

Nick Fury tried to summarize the situation.

"That seems to be the case,"Iron Man nodded, though not entirely sure. "He's appeared in multiple choices now."

"Besides that, do we have any other clues to support this?"Nick Fury glanced at Iron Man and Black Widow with his one eye. "If that's all we have, it's not very convincing."

"Director, Stark, do you remember the footage from the 'Battle of New York'? That person who appeared next to Captain America, holding a hammer?"

Black Widow suddenly lit up, clearly remembering something, and spoke to the other two.

"That guy with the hammer!"

Iron Man's eyes also lit up: "That must be Thor!"

During the quiz earlier, everyone's attention was focused on Iron Man, so no one had analyzed the "background characters" in depth.

But now that Black Widow mentioned it, everyone instantly realized it.

In mythology, isn't Thor the god who wields a hammer?

"No, that is Thor!"Iron Man quickly added with certainty.

He suddenly recalled the scene from Endgame, where Captain America wielded a hammer to battle Thanos.

Back then, both Iron Man and Coulson thought it was some kind of magical artifact, but in the Battle of New York footage, Iron Man noticed that the hammer matched the one used by the "cloak guy."

Piecing all those clues together, Iron Man had no doubts anymore: the hammer Captain America used must have been Thor's Hammer!

That cloaked guy was definitely Thor—no question.

Seeing Iron Man's expression, Nick Fury realized he must have remembered something that confirmed his conclusion.

And those clues probably came from the previous round of questions, so both Nick Fury and Black Widow trusted Iron Man's judgment.

That cloaked man was Thor.

"Alright, now that we're certain Thor participated in the Battle of New York, here's the puzzle piece we have in front of us."

"Loki came to Earth, stole the Tesseract, and helped the Chitauri invade New York. Thor, meanwhile, fought alongside humans against the Chitauri."

"That being the case..."

Nick Fury looked up at the large screen. "The answer should be C—'Stop Loki's conspiracy'?"

"Director, I think that reasoning might be a little too simplistic,"Black Widow disagreed.

"Actually, Option B—'Retrieve the Tesseract left on Earth'—could also fit into that puzzle."

"Thor wanted to come to Earth to retrieve the Tesseract, but his brother Loki got wind of it first and stole the Tesseract ahead of him, bringing in the Chitauri."

"Thor had to fight the Chitauri to get the Tesseract back, which is why he temporarily allied with humans."

"Otherwise, why would someone from Asgard care about the lives of humans?"

"Are we really supposed to believe, like in the myths, that Earth is one of the Nine Realms and that's why Thor intervened? Then why would Loki invade Earth?"

"There's always been a fatal question we couldn't answer about the Battle of New York—why did the Chitauri invade Earth? What was their objective?"

"Why did Loki remain on Earth after stealing the Tesseract, continuing his plotting? What was his goal?"

"Looking at it now, having to deal with his brother Thor might have been reason enough."

In Black Widow's analysis, Thor and Loki became dark-mirror versions of royal siblings scheming against each other for the Tesseract.

To get their hands on it, both brothers pulled out all the stops.

Loki, in order to prevent Thor from retrieving the Tesseract, immediately began his plans after acquiring it on Earth, secretly joining forces with the Chitauri.

That way, when Thor arrived, Loki could open a portal and have the Chitauri attack him.

To be fair, this did align with Loki's identity as the God of Mischief.

And Thor, predictably, fell into the trap—upon arriving on Earth, he was quickly ambushed by the Chitauri, which led him to ally temporarily with the humans.
