We arrived at the top of the altar, we faced the crowd then my father proclaimed "On this blessed day, another heir of the Gardenia royal family will accede to the throne."
to those words I sat down on the throne. My father lifted the crown from the cushion, displaying it for everyone to admire, then he placed the crown on my headdress. "This is the New head of Gardenia; Queen Evelyne du Jardin," he announced.
Carrying the crown on my head I stood up, my mother took off her red diamond necklace. She got behind me then laid it on my neck. "congratulations she whispered in my left ear." I looked at the crowd, the people, who were now under my charge. I smiled, lifting my right hand before my pledge. "I, Evelyne du Jardin, at the age of seventeen, solemnly accept the sacred duties entrusted to me by the crown. With humility and resolve, I vow to govern with kindness and wisdom, fostering unity and trust among my people. I shall lead not with judgment, but with compassion, always striving to serve the best interests of the Kingdom of Gardenia, and to uphold its honor and prosperity through love and dedication."
Honestly I must admit there is nothing fun about being alone in a world where you should make others happy without even caring about your own happiness. I am a selfless person, but it doesn't mean that I will let others walk all over me. Being selfless is just caring about others, but I am also a person. It is really funny the fact that everything I said in this last sentence feels so selfish to me, I have a problem that I can't solve and no one is helping.
A month after my coronation, I encountered with Sir Léon; the first occasion I beheld him was on the day of my ascension. Remarkably, he was the sole individual who took the initiative to engage in a conversation with me, disregarding those who offered their greetings, he addressed me directly with a genuine interest. I only remember that he is known as Sir Léon, as an older woman had called him so, though I doubt he recalls our encounter. He appears to possess many acquaintances, and from my observation, he bears a youthful countenance, perhaps around my age, yet I am certain, he is older than me.
