Chapter 39 - CHAPTER 39: The Heiress Returns

The press conference was scheduled for noon.

By 10 a.m., reporters were already gathering outside the Kang Corporation Tower, whispering, speculating. Rumors had been swirling for days—a mysterious shareholder dispute, sealed inheritance files, and a certain name reappearing on confidential legal records.

Seo Hana.

Joon-Hyuk stood at the front of the sleek, modern media room, watching the buzz build. He turned as Hana stepped in, flanked by security and Min-Ji—now tightly under her command.

"You ready?" he asked.

Hana smoothed the ivory blazer she wore over a black silk blouse. No jewelry. No accessories. Just poise—and sharp eyes that didn't blink.

"Let's give them a story they'll never forget."

Cameras flashed as Hana took the podium.

She didn't start with a greeting.

"I am Seo Hana," she said, her voice echoing, unwavering. "Daughter of Seo Gwan-Jin. Legal heir to the Seo Estate and holdings."

A wave of gasps rippled through the room. The reporters froze. Fingers hovered over keyboards.

She continued.

"For two years, I was in a coma. During that time, key individuals attempted to strip my name, my identity, and my father's legacy from every document they could find."

She paused. Looked into the cameras.

"But I'm awake now. And I remember everything."

In a high-rise across town, Baek threw his glass across the room as the press conference played on his screen.

"She went public?!" he barked. "What the hell is she planning?"

His assistant cowered. "We didn't see it coming. The documents we intercepted… they were fake."

Baek's jaw tightened. "Of course they were. She's baiting me."

He paced.

"She's forcing me to show my hand."

Back at the Kang Tower, Hana held up a thick folder.

"These," she said, "are the legal filings to reclaim every asset held in my father's name. Assets currently under illegal trusteeship."

A buzz erupted in the room.

Reporters began shouting.

"Miss Seo, are you accusing someone specifically—?"

"Do you plan to press criminal charges—?"

"Will you be working with the Kang family in this takeover—?"

Hana lifted her chin.

"I plan to rebuild everything that was stolen. From me. From the people who believed in my father. And yes—I have allies."

She turned toward Joon-Hyuk, who stood behind her, arms crossed like a fortress.

"Power doesn't scare me anymore," she said, her voice like thunder now. "Because I finally remembered who I am."
