Later that evening, Freya sat cross-legged on her living room floor, her laptop open beside her, and a steaming mug of coffee untouched.
Across from her, Laura sat on the couch with a blanket wrapped around her like a judgmental grandmother. The evening sun was too bright for the mood hanging in the room.
"Okay, so let me get this straight," Laura said, frowning down at the photographs spread out on the coffee table. "These were just casually planted in your bag like some cheap detective drama?"
Freya nodded.
Then Laura leaned forward, serious now. "Then you need to find out who put it there. If it isn't a professional spy that came into your office, then it'd be someone close to you. Only someone who's always around you at work would have slipped it in without you noticing."
"Who could it have been? There's no one particularly suspicious at work." Freya said slowly.
Her phone buzzed against the floor right after.
She picked it up and froze.
