Chapter 19 - Chapter 019 – Student Council President: You're Having a Lively Chat at the Door, Why Not Come In?

Sendoh headed straight to the Student Council office.

The Student Council office was located in a large classroom near the school's indoor swimming pool.

Not that the Student Council members could peek at swimming lessons when they got bored.

Perhaps due to space limitations, this location became the Student Council office.

All students knew this place. Anyone could come here.

Sendoh arrived at the Student Council entrance with two objectives. First, to gain an advantage in the class competition by trying to join the Student Council. Second, to handle the SD card that was found yesterday.

The SD card contained a secret video.

'The longer I delay, the worse it will be for the person recorded,' thought Sendoh.

While thinking about this, Sendoh saw someone leaning on a cane at the Student Council door.

Different from yesterday, that person was wearing a black beret today.

The beret added 20% to her cuteness factor.

Upon seeing the girl, Sendoh knew that the journey to the Student Council wouldn't be easy.

"What a coincidence. Did Sakayanagi-san also find something to submit to the Student Council?" Sendoh opened the conversation.

The silver-haired girl with the beret turned around. "Isn't this Miyama-kun from Class C first year?"

"You're also visiting the Student Council today?"

"But it seems you didn't bring a girl with you," said Sakayanagi Arisu.

'What does she mean by "girl"?' thought Sendoh.

'Did she see me talking with Ichinose-san at the second-year building? If so, why didn't she just greet us?'

But before anyone could speak further, the narrator appeared.

[I don't know, but she seems a bit dissatisfied.]

'—'

'This narration system isn't always helpful,' thought Sendoh. 'Initially I thought it was omniscient, but maybe it's just a character from the future.'

The narrator's analysis only appeared when Sendoh met people.

'Sakayanagi-san is dissatisfied?' thought Sendoh. 'When did I make her angry?'

"Ichinose-san and I parted ways at the second-year area," said Sendoh. "She apparently doesn't have a reason to visit the Student Council now."

Sakayanagi remained silent, her expression slightly confused, but still polite. "I think it's impressive that Miyama-kun and Shiina-san get along well. It turns out you also get along with students from other classes."

"It seems Miyama-kun didn't hear my words at all."

"You're living a satisfying campus life."

Despite her politeness, Sendoh felt that, like the narrator suggested, Sakayanagi was somewhat angry.

"Was Sakayanagi-san with classmates yesterday?" asked Sendoh.

"Hm?" Sakayanagi pretended to hear.

"I saw you at the shopping district yesterday with your classmates," said Sendoh. "They seemed to support you."

Wait.

Sendoh realized Sakayanagi had mentioned he got along with Shiina. 'So she saw me at that time,' thought Sendoh.

"I'm not physically strong," said Sakayanagi. "Even being independent is difficult for me. So I rely on others' help."

"I share my observations about the school, then gain support from students."

"They volunteer to be my right-hand," said Sakayanagi casually.

'So that's how it is,' thought Sendoh.

Sakayanagi had gained recognition from her classmates.

'But your way of thinking is dangerous,' thought Sendoh. 'Even though you say they're your right-hand, it seems you consider them tools.'

Sendoh felt that Sakayanagi understood the school system. As a Class A student, she had thought about strange things since the opening ceremony, gained support from classmates, and ordered them to gather information quickly.

"So, why are you visiting the Student Council today?" asked Sendoh.

He didn't expect Sakayanagi to answer honestly.

In a class competition, leaking information to other classes wasn't smart.

"We want to print the name list of students in each class," said Sakayanagi. "For class confrontation, it's important to know information about your own class and other classes, right?"

Sendoh was surprised.

'She already understands almost everything,' thought Sendoh.

'Terrifying.'

'Is this the final boss of Class C?'

Sendoh felt pressured. If Ryuuen's violence united a scattered class, Sakayanagi cleverly gained recognition from her classmates.

Class A students were obedient and acted on Sakayanagi's orders.

Division of labor.

'Class A is very dangerous,' thought Sendoh. 'Their command is strong, their subordinates obedient.'

"So, has Sakayanagi-san mastered Class A and become the leader?" asked Sendoh, pretending to be indifferent.

"No," said Sakayanagi, gently holding her cane, looking regretful. "I want to be the class representative, but there are more conservative students in the class."

'Oh, so she's radical?' thought Sendoh.

It wasn't apparent.

Despite being small and weak, Sakayanagi had tremendous offensive power.

'Class A isn't completely united,' thought Sendoh. 'Differences of opinion could benefit other classes.'

While thinking about this, the Student Council door creaked.

The closed door opened from inside.

The silhouette of a boy with short black hair appeared.

The Student Council President!

Horikita Manabu, who gave the speech at the entrance ceremony, a senior Class A third-year student who maintained 40 students, the class representative.

"What's this? You're having a lively chat at the door, but not coming in?" asked Horikita Manabu, mocking them.

"No," said Sendoh.

"Eh—" Sakayanagi remained sweet.

But everyone knew one thing.

The Student Council gate had poor sound insulation.
