God Realm
The God King stood atop the palace's highest floor, gazing at joyful birds flitting through the sky. Beyond, flower-covered hills bloomed, and god clan citizens bustled in a picturesque scene. As he sank into this serene vista, a voice broke his reverie.
"Your Majesty, urgent war report from Lord Keled," a lesser angel knelt, announcing. "Oh? What's the matter?" the God King asked faintly, not turning, his pose unchanged.
"Lord Keled requests Your Majesty deploy the 'God Special Forces' to break the god-demon stalemate," the angel reported. The God King's body quivered. "Summon all Seraphim to the great hall," he said, vanishing without a trace.
"What are your thoughts on Keled's request for the 'God Special Forces'?" the God King asked the Seraphim below. War-hungry Seraph Beilie leapt up. "Majesty, we should grant Keled's request! Smack those evil demons hard—show 'em our might, heh!" His exaggerated cackle made other Seraphim question his sanity. The God King eyed Beilie, at a loss. This guy's a born warmonger, which is why he wasn't sent to lead the demon invasion—win or lose, he'd bleed angels dry. Yet, bafflingly, this reckless oaf was the strongest Seraph. Fate's cruel joke.
The God King waved Beilie down, silencing his rant. "Other opinions?" he asked. The Seraphim exchanged glances. Seraph Baizhan stepped forward. "Majesty, the current stalemate demands the 'God Special Forces.' Without breaking through, we'd have to retreat, wasting all prior efforts. We're on demon turf, so we must dominate. Keled's plan to crush their morale before their elites arrive is sound," Baizhan said, stepping back. As commander of the First Legion, which sent a hundred thousand to the demon war, his word carried weight. Beilie grinned at Baizhan, thrilled his brother backed him. Baizhan rolled his eyes—not helping you, idiot.
Seeing the First Legion's stance, the God King gauged the room but pressed, "Any more thoughts? If not, we'll send the 'God Special Forces' as Keled requests." "We agree!" "Majesty is wise!" A chorus of flattery followed. The God King shook his head—too much peace had dulled their edge.
"Majesty, how many 'God Special Forces' will we send? We only have a hundred fifty thousand," said Grand Commander Flande of the 'God Special Forces.'
The God King was pleased—someone with sense. "We'll send all of them," he declared, brimming with gusto.
"Majesty, no! That risks a demon sneak attack!" some angels cried. The God King glared at the chaotic crowd, snapping, "Look at yourselves—where's your god clan pride? Panicking over this? If we fail again, will the leftover 'God Special Forces' save us? Either don't fight or prepare to pay the price. Baizhan, ready the First Legion to march with the 'God Special Forces.' Beilie, you're deputy. Kwei, Second Legion guards the god realm. No objections? Done. I'll lead this campaign myself."
"Majesty, you mustn't!" Some tried to protest, but he cut them off with a cold wave. "It's settled. We depart in three days."
"Lord Keled, word from the god realm—His Majesty's leading the campaign himself. What now?" Gaga asked, seeking guidance. "I'm thinking. We can't let His Majesty arrive to us trapped like rats," Keled said, exasperated.
"How about a sneak attack on the demons, like before?" Gaga suggested, half-hearted. He knew it was a dud—used days ago, the demons were ready now. Another try would cost them dearly, ruin their "welcome gift" for the God King, and make explaining losses awkward.
"No good. We hold Yelu City tight—that's enough. His Majesty arrives the day after tomorrow. We've done decently," Keled said, knowing it was self-soothing. A year-plus of fighting, still stuck—nobody'd believe it.
"If we'd gotten humans to pin down the demon army at the start, we wouldn't be here," Keled mused.
"I thought so too, but they refused. Who knew humans got so strong? Trank got crushed—no pinning needed," Gaga said, mocking.
"We came at the wrong time. A bit later, and demons might've sent more troops to human lands. Per our intel, demons drop like flies there. We could've ambushed them then—no resistance left," Keled said.
Gaga nodded, wistful. "Yeah, but our demon realm intel's trash. Demons and gods are opposites—they don't buy our talk, so we get no real data. We had human sources, but the demon invasion wrecked them. All our temples on the Magic-Martial Continent got smashed. After the invasion, humans lost faith in us—probably why they rejected our envoy last time." Little did Gaga know the human rulers were hardcore atheists who'd bombed the god realm.
"No helping it. We had better sway on the Magic-Martial Continent. The god realm's nicer, but we lost grip on humans. Temple destructions, demon poisonings, and that idiot envoy you sent—what were you thinking? A smooth talker could've avoided this mess. We had an excuse—we're fighting demons directly. If we'd secured human troops, demons would be done. That fool screwed us," Keled said, itching to strangle the envoy.
"Sir, I didn't know he'd act like that. Heard his sister's the God King's newest concubine, super favored," Gaga said, helpless.
"He didn't read the room. Pre-invasion, his arrogance might've worked—we had clout. But showing up post-invasion, not helping, acting like the biggest shot? He trashed our image. No one tolerates that," Keled said, shaking his head.
"General, don't the gods seem fishy? Their defenses tightened these past two days," Lalan said to Yuri, her instincts tingling with unease.
Yuri, no rash fool—more a cunning general—was worn down by days of strain, clouding his focus. After a quick thought, he said, "Normal, isn't it? We've got them surrounded—they'd beef up or we'd have taken the city. Still, stay sharp. Arrange it later." His half-hearted order, coupled with their forces' mismatch, soon led to a brutal hit.
Day three, in Yelu City's lord mansion, Keled, Gaga, and expedition generals waited, anxious yet thrilled, as if expecting something big. The clear sky turned rainy, a drizzle falling. Lucky for the gods—thunder masked the weather shifts from their cross-realm arrival.
A massive thunderclap shook the demon realm, startling even the Demon King in his palace. Something's coming. Keled and Gaga buzzed with excitement. Beings like the God King, Demon King, or Feitian, brimming with energy, disrupt air currents when crossing realms, altering weather. Feitian's ship dodges this, letting him punk gods and demons cluelessly.
Post-lightning, bigger bolts flashed. Before Keled and Gaga, thousands of troops appeared, packing the mansion's plaza. Simultaneously, in a god-controlled valley thirty miles from Yelu City, over half a million angels materialized, joined by god realm beasts. Leading were First Legion Commander Baizhan and 'God Special Forces' Grand Commander Flande, backed by their men.
Seeing the sudden army, Keled and Gaga led their generals to kneel. "Hail, Your Majesty!" The God King's milky-white energy shield repelled rain a foot from his body. "Rise," he said coolly. "Thank you, Majesty." Keled guided him into the mansion's hall. The mood was heavy. Keled, thinking the God King was mad at their lack of progress, treaded carefully, barely breathing. But the God King's funk had another cause. Months ago, mid-passion with his new concubine, crafting a little angel, a massive blast rocked the god realm. The temple, closest to the shockwave, took the brunt, jarring the God King and his lover. It left him impotent for months. Too embarrassed to admit, some concubines thought they'd lost favor, flaunting poses to please him. Burning with desire but unable to perform, he was relieved when they stopped teasing.
Yesterday, dreaming of crushing demons, his long-dormant "little brother" stirred. Ecstatic, he rushed to the harem, diving into his concubine. But after ten thrusts, it quit again. Her disappointed gaze crushed his manly pride, souring his mood. The culprit—still at large—deserved to be hacked to bits. Far in the human realm, Feitian, mid-thrust with Lan'er and others, shivered, climaxing abruptly, sending Lan'er into a squealing frenzy. Palace guards marveled at their "virile" emperor. Feitian, annoyed at his quick finish—three wives still waiting—felt fated to clash with the God King over male honor.
The expedition generals, seeing Keled's tension, assumed the same and followed silently. "Everyone, sit," the God King said, taking the hall's central throne. The decor cheered him slightly. The vain Yelu lord had a lavish hall, which Keled and Gaga tweaked to suit the God King's status. Though small, it worked for gods, with a spruced-up courtyard for his quarters. Time was tight for a full overhaul.
Angels sat by rank, a clever move by Keled. In the god realm, only the God King sat during court—everyone else stood. His offer of seats was a boon, earning Keled and Gaga brownie points. They hoped higher-ups would praise them, softening any punishment. Lower ranks stood behind their superiors.
As the room settled, the God King cleared his throat. "Since we're quiet, let's begin. First, hear Expedition Commander Keled's report to clarify our next steps."
Keled's heart leapt when his name was called, fearing a scolding. Realizing it was just a report, he relaxed, adjusted his robes, and stepped forward to face the God King.
