Chapter 48 - THE FINAL BOSS BATTLE

The moment Yamete gained admin privileges, the world stuttered. Colors inverted briefly before settling into a strange hyper-realistic version of Glitchvale where every brick looked suspiciously detailed and the air smelled vaguely of new car interior.

Cheat vibrated excitedly in his hand, projecting:

*/admin_abilities_unlocked*

*/warning:may_cause_existential_dread*

Theta's voice crackled through the room again, clearer now but dripping with static-laced panic: "No no no—that command was supposed to be deprecated—Yamete don't you dare—"

Yamete flexed his fingers, feeling power humming under his skin like he'd swallowed a live wire. He pointed at the reset countdown, now at 1:47 and dropping fast.

"Stop," he commanded.

The timer froze. Then the entire terminal screen flickered and displayed:

**ARE YOU SURE?**

**Y/N**

Yamete groaned. "Really? Even with admin powers I get confirmation dialogs?"

GLich-chan's glow stabilized into her familiar warm hue as she floated to his side. "That's Theta for you. Man loved his failsafes." She hesitated. "Also, your hair is doing something weird."

Yamete reached up to find his hair had turned into strands of floating code that changed color based on his mood (currently: anxious purple).

Terry sneezed violently, turning a nearby chair into a floating math equation. "Less vanity, more saving reality?"

Outside, the dissolution of Glitchvale had paused mid-collapse, leaving half the world looking like a corrupted save file. Theta materialized in the doorway, his bathrobe now pixelated at the edges. He looked at Yamete with something between horror and reluctant pride.

"You weren't supposed to be able to do that."

Cheat projected smugly:

*/improper_use_of_supposed_to*

Theta ignored it, stepping forward. "You've got exactly one chance to prove glitches are worth keeping. Me versus you. Final test."

The server room warped around them, transforming into an arena floating in void space. Perfectly balanced NPCs lined the stands, clapping in mathematically precise rhythms.

Engine floated to Theta's side, its blue glow dim with uncertainty.

GLich-chan cracked her knuckles. "Oh, it's so on."

Theta snapped his fingers.

**BOSS BATTLE INITIATED**

The first wave was textbook perfect enemies—balanced warriors with optimized attack patterns. Yamete countered by typing:

*/give @p nostalgia*

Gary's full trash monarchy materialized in a shower of sparks, complete with his old dumpster throne and an army of sentient kitchenware. The ladles and spatulas charged with a battle cry of "DEATH TO THE BALANCED!"

Theta retaliated by spawning flawless RPG heroes. Yamete answered with glitched-out speedrunners who broke the game physics.

Back and forth they went—Theta creating order, Yamete answering with beautiful, ridiculous chaos.

Engine watched the battle, its glow flickering between blue and orange. Finally, it floated between them and projected:

*/compromise_available*

*/suggest:controlled_chaos*

Theta wiped sweat from his brow. "What's that supposed to—"

GLich-chan suddenly gasped. "Wait. That's it. The original plan wasn't to destroy Glitchvale. It was to build something new." She turned to Yamete. "We don't have to beat him. We can make something better."
