Alva sat in her office, looking frail and weak. Her stomach hurt so much that she didn't even notice the doctor standing before her.
"Hello, miss," the doctor said, smiling warmly.
Alva waved sluggishly, her eyes barely focusing on the doctor. "Hello."
The doctor's expression turned concerned. "How is the baby...?" he started to ask, but stopped when he saw Alva's reaction.
The doctor's eyes narrowed slightly. "So, he didn't treat you well. Okay, but Cody called for you."
Alva's eyes dropped, and she didn't respond. The doctor walked to the office, and Alva slowly stood up from her chair, her movements sluggish.
As she entered the office, she saw Cody sitting in a chair, his eyes fixed on her. But Alva couldn't meet his gaze, her eyes dropping to the floor.
"Okay, Miss—Cody... Cody called me for the check-up for your child," the doctor said.
Alva's voice was barely above a whisper. "It will be better if you call me Alva."
Cody's expression was cold, his voice detached. "You can check her now."
The doctor nodded and began the examination. He used a fetal ultrasound device to check on the baby's development.
As the device was placed on Alva's stomach, the image of the baby appeared on the TV screen. Alva and Cody stared at the picture, their faces expressionless.
The doctor's voice was filled with excitement. "It's a girl!"
Cody's eyes widened slightly, his voice filled with surprise. "Girl?"
The doctor smiled and nodded. "Yes, congratulations!"
As the doctor left the office, the room fell silent. Alva and Cody didn't speak, the tension between them palpable.
Cody broke the silence, his voice cold. "I'm sorry for the threatening. I want just my child, and you can do anything you want."
Alva's eyes dropped, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm sorry for my immature..."
Cody interrupted her, his voice firm. "I don't want to hear your apology. You're too late."
Alva stood up and walked to Cody, her movements slow. She hugged him from behind, her lips slowly kissing his neck.
Cody's body remained still, his expression unchanging. Alva's voice was filled with desperation. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry for my behavior. I love you, Cody. I do love Cody."
She sat on his lap, her tears falling on his shoulder. "Please be with me and my child. Our child. Our little girl. Maybe you could do anything with me."
Cody's voice was firm. "The only way to protect my child is if you stay at my place."
Alva's face fell, her eyes dropping. Cody's eyes narrowed, his expression intense. "There's no thinking. I want your answer now."
The room fell silent again, Alva's face pale. After a long moment, she whispered, "Okay."

"Mom," Alva said, addressing her mother in a respectful tone, as she finished arranging her clothes in the suitcase.
Her mother's eyes narrowed, her brow furrowing in concern. "What? Where are you going to?" she asked, her voice laced with worry, as Alva's father chimed in with the same question.
Alva took a deep breath, her eyes locked onto her mother's. "Mom, remember what you told me about getting married?" she asked, her voice hesitant.
Her mother's expression changed, her eyes widening in surprise. "Uh, what? Wait, do you want to get married?" she asked, her voice rising in alarm.
Alva shook her head, her eyes dropping. "No, but soon. I met this guy, and he wants me to stay in his house," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
The room fell silent, Alva's parents exchanging a worried glance. The air was thick with unspoken questions and concerns, as Alva's words hung in the air like a challenge.
As the room fell silent, Alva's mom finally spoke up. "Alva, say something."
Alva's dad, Brian, intervened, "Where did you meet this guy who wants you to stay at his house?"
Alva's tone turned defensive. "Yeah, don't talk about my matter."
Brian pressed on, "As who's I?"
Soo Ryen chimed in, "Are you going to let her go stay at some boy's house?"
The tension in the room was palpable. Alva spoke up, "Ah, when will you and Brian start minding your business? If I'm going to stay at someone's house, that's not your business."
Alva's mom tried to intervene, but Alva cut her off. "You were the one urging me to get married, and now I'm going to get married, and you're not talking?"
Alva's dad looked taken aback. "That's true... you were the one telling her to get married."
Alva's tone turned accusatory. "So, why are you making a big deal about it now?"
Her mom asked, "Who is this guy you want to stay with?"
After a pause, Alva replied, "It's my boss."
The room fell silent again. Alva's mom spoke up, "Your boss?!!!!" Everyone in the house said together... "Your boss wasn't the one you were supposed to meet on your blind date?"
Alva's mom's expression turned skeptical. "So, you love your boss? Ah, and you plan on getting married?"
Alva's tone turned defiant. "Yes, I plan to."
Her mom asked, "Why haven't you come with him to talk about it?"
Alva replied, "He said we'll talk about it after some time... after I stay at his house."
The room fell silent once more. Finally, Alva's mom spoke up, "Okay, okay... But promise to come soon, and I want to see this guy tomorrow."
Alva's mom fell silent, and Alva knew she had won the argument. She picked up her luggage and walked out of the building.
"Mom, did you allow her to go and meet her boss?" Brian asked.
"Shhh. And focus on you and Vicky," she said then walked out of the living room.

I sat on the bed feeling so weak and tired... I don't know what's wrong with me but I'm sure the problem is from my stomach... It hurt so much that I felt like I'm dying. I quickly ran to Cody's room but before reaching there I fell to the ground shouting for help. Blood began to flow from my body.
Miscarriage.
Oh no.
