As Obadiah said, Tony suit was too conservative, while Obadiah suit was highly lethal. He had installed many weapons and equipment on his suit that the government had banned from production, which made Raiden and Tony feel exceptionally challenged.
"Bang, bang, bang!"
Raiden and Tony were once again slammed into the wall. This wasn't a fight between equals; it was simply unwinnable.
"This can't go on" Raiden said, looking at Obadiah figure. The fireball in his hand had no effect when it struck Obadiah.
Tony remained silent for a moment, then raised his hand to stop Raiden.
"Stand down. This is between him and me now."
"Huh?" Raiden looked at Tony, confused.
Tony stared straight at Obadiah, activated his thrusters, and charged toward him. Obadiah, seeing Tony flying toward him, also sprinted forward.
The two suits collided. Fortunately, both suits were made of the best metal in the world, so it was like two shields clashing. However, the lighter one always took more damage.
"Why! Why did you betray me!" Tony, after being knocked back, charged again.
"Why? I've supported you for thirty years. For thirty years, I've been by your side," Obadiah said, lifting Tony and slamming him to the ground.
"In these thirty years, what have I gained? I built the company, but I got nothing. First, it was your father, and now it's you!" Obadiah stomped on Tony chest and then kicked him away, saying "But now, no one can stop me! Especially not you!"
After saying this, Obadiah locked onto Tony with missiles. Two missiles launched from his shoulders, accurately hitting Tony. In the sea of flames, Tony disappeared.
"Of course... and you!" Obadiah turned to look at Raiden, muttering.
"I'll kill you, I'll kill you, I will definitely kill you!"
Obadiah voice grew louder and more hysterical. He frantically tried to attack Raiden, launching missiles aimed at him. Raiden quickly conjured a magical shield to protect himself, but strangely, the missiles exploded around him without causing any harm.
Obadiah, seeing the missed shots, was furious and charged toward Raiden.
"Obadiah! Your opponent is me!" A voice stopped Obadiah. It was Tony.
Tony emerged from the flames, hovering in the air, looking down at Obadiah. Then, he shot up into the sky. Obadiah glanced at Raiden, shook his head, and turned back to Tony, activating his thrusters to chase after him.
Tony and Obadiah flew higher and higher, eventually disappearing into the night sky.
...
"Ouch!"
Raiden grimaced in pain. It really hurt; he felt like his whole body was about to fall apart. He leaned weakly against a nearby car, rubbing his chest.
"Hey! Raiden, Raiden!" A familiar voice suddenly called from the distance. It was Yinsen.
Raiden looked up and saw Yinsen and two others standing on the sidewalk above the road, waving at him.
"Where's Tony?" Pepper asked Raiden.
Raiden waved his hand and walked towards them. Facing the seven to eight-meter drop between the sidewalk and the road, Raiden conjured ice in mid-air and stepped onto it, ascending.
"Where's Tony!" Pepper grabbed Raiden hands as soon as he stepped onto the sidewalk, her voice filled with urgency.
"He took Obadiah into the sky" Raiden said, pointing upwards.
Pepper glanced at the dark night sky, then crouched down and began to cry.
"Raiden, what was that just now..." Rhodey squeezed in to ask.
Raiden raised his hand, and a flame appeared in his palm. "This is magic, Rhodey."
"Magic? Magic! Oh my god!" Rhodey exclaimed excitedly. For ordinary people, magic was something truly extraordinary.
While Rhodey was marveling, Raiden suddenly felt a strange sensation of being watched. He turned his head sharply, but there was nothing there.
This feeling was odd... but before Raiden could dwell on it, a massive figure suddenly crashed down from the sky—it was Obadiah.
Obadiah landed directly on the road, creating a huge crater in the ground, and then fell silent.
Raiden and the others quickly looked up at the sky. Tony was slowly descending, the flames from his boot thrusters flickering on and off. Finally, when he was about ten meters from the ground, he plummeted down.
Pepper immediately ran over, and Raiden and the others followed.
"Tony? Tony!"
Pepper rushed towards Tony, who was lying on the ground, but before she could reach him, Tony stood up on his own. Tony removed his helmet, glanced at Pepper, then looked at Raiden and the others. His gaze finally settled on Raiden, and he muttered dazedly.
"Let's go... let's go."
As Tony spoke, a noise came from the road below. Obadiah stood up again, charging onto the road. He punched Tony, sending him flying, and then swung his fist at Raiden.
When the fist was just a few centimeters from Raiden face, Obadiah stopped. He moved his fist aside because its massive size blocked his view, preventing him from seeing Raiden expression.
Raiden, however, remained calm and composed, simply staring at Obadiah without flinching.
"Akatosh... listen!" Obadiah roared at Raiden, but the next second... Obadiah vanished from Raiden sight.
Raiden blinked and said "Uh, I'm listening..."
...
In distant Asgard, Thor and his companions were preparing to launch a surprise attack on Jotunheim. Loki, standing beside Thor, suddenly turned his gaze towards Earth. He felt as though he had lost something very important... like a line of dialogue.
...
Obadiah was slammed back onto the road, and now there was a woman standing there—a woman clad in armor, wielding a sword and shield.
Her face was obscured by a strange light, leaving only her eyes visible.
Raiden and the others quickly walked to the railing and looked down. The woman was standing on Obadiah, looking up at them. At this moment, Tony struggled to fly over. The woman's eyes swept over each of them, and then she shook her head.
That look? Raiden read disdain in the woman's gaze, as if she were saying.
"You big men are struggling this much against such a thing?"
Tony also felt insulted by her look, as if she were implying that his armor was utterly useless.
Yinsen, too, gleaned something from her eyes. She seemed to be saying...
"These two idiots beside me can't even handle this thing."
Involuntarily, Yinsen took a step to the side, creating a slight distance between himself, Raiden, and Tony.
Raiden and Tony both turned their heads toward Yinsen, who responded with an awkward yet polite smile.
As for Obadiah, who was pinned to the ground by the woman, he also caught something in her eyes when she turned her head... This bitch wants to kill me!
The woman raised her sword high and thrust it down toward Obadiah. In a panic, Obadiah pressed a red button on the thigh of his armor.
"Bang!"
With a roar from the thrusters, Obadiah flung the woman off him and soared into the night sky. His voice echoed from the sky.
"Akatosh, we will meet again, I swear it!"
