I hate it... I hate them... I always hated them since that day... The day it was known that I have talent to awaken... Since that day, my parents were same but not same anymore.
Something changed between us... Mainly between me and my father... But I only got to know about that, a few days later when...
SLAP!
"YOU BASTARD! WHY? JUST WHY?!!" He said as he slapped me as another punch landed on his ribs, knocking the air out of his lungs.
"You're just a kid!! My kid?! A child of useless, untalented guy then just why?! Why the hell did you get it?!" his father yelled, spit flying from his mouth and his eyes filled with rage.
I didn't even fight back... I just lay there on the floor, hands over his head, crying lightly and with a body full of pain but the pain didn't matter.
Because the real pain was something else, something that hurted him more than that physical wounds.
It was the look in his father's eyes... that twisted and bitter glare which wasn't anger nor was it disappointment.
It was envy... Pure, burning jealousy, directly at his own son, who has a talent that he doesn't have, a future that he once dreamed of and fate he wasn't born with.
But for me, that look and those eyes... It all hurted, even hurt more than the slap.
My father was someone I had always looked up to him a man who told him how he never give up and made it out of his life from slum to a citizen without any talent.
My father was someone, whom I felt calling Dad.
But now...
"I gave everything, EVERYTHING, to this damn world and got nothing! NOTHING!"
He kicked me again, but those words were the real wounds.
"And then you, my kid, just get handed talent? You don't deserve it!!" It was a moment I will never forget... it broke something inside me.
The love I had for him... The respect and responsibilities... They all shattered into pieces.
However, I didn't cry nor did I scream... Not even once but deep down... a seed began to to take root.
Not just at his father, but also at the world that made this happen.
And in that moment, I promised himself, that I will have his revenge, and I'll become a monster that is needed for this revenge.
As I thought so, I looked up at my father…
Even though blood was dripping from my nose, even though I wasn't able to see clearly with my vision blurred, and even though I was full of breath, i still looked at him with clear eyes.
They were filled with something new... Something different.
It wasn't fear nor pain but aomething colder... so cold that my father noticed it too and that's what made him snap even more.
"You… you dare look at me like that?!" the fat director said with voice full of arrogance as he...
CRACK!
Another slap, harder than the rest, even tho the director looked like he haven't moved for months, it stilll hurted like hell due to him having recieved both the blessings.
That slap alone made my head snapped to the side, but I didn't fall... And still looked at him with same eyes.
That only made him angrier.
"Don't you look down on me!! I'm your father!! YOUR FATHER!!" he said as his fists rained down again.. and again... and again.
At some point, I even lost count of how many times he hit me but my silence... it only mad the director mad.
Then... His punches slowed down… they grew weaker and weaker until he just stood there, panting, fists clenched with anger knowing that he can't kill this kid as of yet.
Then he looked at me, and said with a voice that cracked under the weight of his own frustration.
"…Go back to your Halls." the director said as I looked at the director... He was tall for a young kid like me... But probably not for long.
"NOW!!" My father said again, as I flinched slightly, and then with heavy steps and a body full of pain, but I left as I walked out of the office without looking back as I walked back to the hall.
As I ran into a caretaker... He looked at me with pity... It reminded me of someone again... of my mother who was waiting outside the room that day.
Not daring to step in, as I walked into her, I saw her eyes filled with guilt, fear, and something else I couldn't place. She opened her mouth, but no words came out at first as I waited.
As I hoped... For her to say something... To comfort me... Take my side but... But all she said was, "…Give him time. He's just… hurt. This will all fix itself. Okay?"
Her voice trembled a little when she said, but she tried to smile... A fake, broken smile as if she genuinely believed her words.
Or maybe, she wanted to believe her own words too, so she can make me believe them to... And give me that fake hope.
In reality, She was torn... Confused as to what to prioritise between the love for her son or her husband.
Between what was right… and what was easier and in the end...
She chose silence.
She chose time.
She chose the lie.
Suddenly, a smile broke on my face as I walk passed the caretaker... Her sin was as big as my father... Her sin was silence.
"It seems like... I have to kill again." I said with sign as I walked past a mirror before stopping and looking at... Liam... No, it was me... Aura.
"If the trial want a monster… I'll give them one." Aura said with a smile looking at himself in the mirror.
'I somewhat understand what you want Liam,' I thought and... "I need to prepare, this sanity won't last long..." I thought looking at the locket in my hand... An Item.
