After sending Zenesha to bed the previous night, Laura ended up staying inside the office until sunrise. That was fine since she could technically ignore this body's need for sleep for a little while. She was also still very much injured and despite her finishing the organization she still hesitated to get into bed with Zenesha.
She had conveniently left out the fact she was hurt in the reports she sent back to the fox and had asked both Kathrin and Iris to omit such info. Laura didn't want Zenesha to worry after all. BUt with nothing else to do Laura returned to their floor.
With nothing else to do the wolf decided to start cleaning instead. Part of it was to avoid facing consequences, and another part was to make sure Zenesha stayed in bed and rested. Laura couldn't trust the fox not to push herself.
After Zenesha awoke and she made her breakfast Laura headed to her laboratory, not to check on things, but to deal with her injuries properly. She did a patch job on the field, but it wasn't nearly enough. Her real body was injured, and she needed void medical supplies.
Once in the lab Laura looked through the supplies she did have. There wasn't a lot since she rarely went through the void anymore. But during her recent travels after defeating the track suit void human, she managed to snag some stuff for herself.
"Ah, here it is." Laura muttered to herself taking out a device and some fresh void bandages.
Removing her shirt and bandages, Laura transformed her torso and arms into its partial void form. The inky black surface of her body had dark grey marks where she was stabbed in the abdomen and where part of her arm was melted. Other than their being marked, there was no clear indication of an injury.
Her true body wasn't reliant on an actually singular form like mortals. It twisted and shifted around in and out of itself. However, she was still injured even if that injury didn't look like one a mortal wound got. There was no gaming wound or cuts. Hell, the grey marks didn't really sit in the same spot unless she concentrated on keeping them in place.
Using the strange device that kind of looked like a modified staple gun, she pressed it against the dark grey marks and activated the device. A surge of pain rippled through Laura as she felt something inject itself into her. She cried out and curled into herself as she tried to endure the painful sensation coursing through her body.
She couldn't just stop here. She still had the arm to handle. Pulling out the void blade she concentrated on migrating the gray marks south of her arm, down to her hand. It was a terrible injury; she could hardly feel the appendage anymore.
However, she now has medicine that'll help regenerate her void energy and body fully. Last time she was injured and removed her arm, she ended up losing a lot of energy and strength because of it. Sure her body regenerated, but she was undeniably weaker.
Taking a deep breath, Laura moved the blade to cut off the broken part of her body. There was too much damage in this one area to heal properly. It almost covered the entire arm and just staring at it made Laura feel sick.
"Aaauuuhgg!" With a yell coming from deep within herself, Laura removed the arm in one clean motion.
The severed grey limb fell to the ground with a squelching noise. A clear difference to how it sounded when she cut it off before in the past and it landed on the ground. Breathing heavily Laura used her power to suppress the energy leaking out from the severed limb. She can't have others finding out about his place after all.
Reaching for the staple gun looking thing again, she once again pressed against herself and triggered it. Cursing out from the pain she set it to the side and picked up the bandages, she wanted to wrap herself first but instead reached for the severed limb.
She grimaced, since for her the closest equivalent she could come up to compare this situation to was like picking up her rotting severed arm. It was gross and made her want to throw up her lunch. However, she had to get it wrapped and disposed of.
After wrapping the severed arm, she set it to the side and worked on her own body. She had a new grey mark on her now regenerated void arm, but it was distinctly different from the corrosive damage she had received. After she finished wrapping her torso and arm, she stood up, discarded arm in hand.
Laura teleported out of the lab and city. She traveled for a couple hours before she stopped. Taking a deep breath to calm her nerves, Laura opened a rift to the void and chucked the arm inside before hastily closing it. The moment she closed the rift she teleported to Zenesha.
This time she didn't land on top of the woman, instead she landed next to her. The fox didn't seem to notice her presence however and Laura silently stepped away from her desk to let them focus. She sat down at her own desk and started working on the paperwork she set aside for herself.
After about half an hour she got bored, teleported back to their kitchen and made herself tea. When she came back, she set the cup on the desk and sat down but accidentally knocked the tea onto herself and jumped from the sudden pain.
Laura didn't miss how startled Zenesha looked when she cried out in surprise and pain. She wanted to laugh at the fox, but held it in.
"When did you get here?" Zenesha asked.
"Like thirty minutes ago I think?" Laura responded amused.
They talked for a while before getting back to work. Then Zenesha suddenly left the room with a determined stride and refused to tell Laura where she was going. Laura wasn't pleased by this but decided to trust the fox. This was her home after all.

"I talked to the Dwarf you mentioned before." Zenesha mentioned later that day.
"What for?" Laura asked with a tilt of her head. "Did you ask him to create pure fire for us?
"Not quite, I asked him to send a message to that witch for us."
"Oh?"
"Yep. Believe it or not witches do have some knowledge related to the void." Zenesha explained. "More than normal people any way. I figured they could act as an assistant."
"I could use the help yeah." Zenesha admitted honestly.
"Good." Zenesha said with a smile.
"The jeweler should contact me in only a few days; we'll just wait till then."
"Sounds like a plan."
