Chapter 72 - Bob and the beginnings of [Flow State]

What exactly was [Flow State] ???

This was a question that Bob wanted to answer for quite some time.

What was the difference between this and the [Zone State]?

Was it a just a feeling, a sense of everything happening effortlessly?

Somehow, it wasn't so simple.

Fortunately, Bob had an idea of where he might be able to find out the answers to these questions.

That's right. He could try to ask Gigachad!!!

It was around this time that Bob began to experience his second RLSSD…

Recurring Lucid Save-State Dream

(RLSSD) #2

The City. It is just your normal city. There is a flow of people, all moving towards their destinations. The bustle and murmur… he is but one voice floating in a sea of sound. Where exactly are they going…? It is hard to say.

Bob is but one entity. It also appears that he is on his way to something. To what exactly? The boy cannot remember… Strangely enough, he is alone, like a small ship bobbing in the sea of society.

He is at a crossroads, when the pedestrian lights turn green. He crosses the intersection, on his way to... somewhere, he supposes.

As he wanders unthinkingly towards the office complex, the vision turns to white.

Again. He is at the intersection. The hum of urban cityscape.

He crosses, this time, utilising his [Expanded Awareness].

That is when he notices the path, tucked away.

No one seems to notice, but as a young boy, he has time to explore.

Why not see where it leads? After a while he arrives at a small courtyard, a quadrangle originally created as if by a long lost advanced civilisation, but now seemingly reclaimed by nature.

Birds are chirping, you can hear the rustle of leafy trees murmuring in the wind, the susurrations, the sounds of running water, a peaceful, calm and gentle repose from the hubbub and roar of the city, which fades into the distance.

Amidst the cracked stone and overgrown vines, the sun shines down lending a warmth alongside a cooling breeze that soothes the soul.

This is not the only remarkable thing about the space. There is a sense of spiralling energy rising upwards, a double helix ascending up into a limitless sky.

The walls and trees intertwine the sides of this space, enclosing off the courtyard and this spiralling energy. And at the base of the spiral lies... the tram. Abandoned and in disrepair. It doesn't appear to be operational, and yet Bob knows that somehow is the key to this RLSSD.

"Skyrise Garden - Skytram"

So reads the faded lettering on its worn chassis...

___

Skyrise Garden.

Indeed, Bob instinctively understood it as a secret refuge, a respite from the urgings and relentlessness of humanity...

A magical world of light, nature and colour, a paradise hidden and tucked away within a modern, man-made metropolis.

Time went by... and then!

In between the point between day and night, just as the stars begin to fill the sky overhead…

Suddenly, light particles begin to congregate where the tram currently stands!

Time seems to rewind, the overgrowth recedes as if it had never grown, the faded lettering, the tram itself has become as new - it has now has powered to life!

We call it a tram, but in actual fact, it was more like a transparent sphere, suspended slightly above the ground in the air, atop a small platform… As Bob steps forward, a destination board lights up, and a projected message begins to scroll sideways…

"Do you wish to ascend? The Conduit to Heaven?"
