One Purple, two Reds, plus Roy's granted Extraordinary Mana—four entries all tied to magic and mana.

Roy sipped his coffee, watching the stunned girls.

"How's it feel, Le Fay?"

"…My mana capacity tripled, and my understanding of magic skyrocketed."

Le Fay snapped back, her expression mixed. She hadn't thought Roy was bluffing, but the effect was unreal.

"Mr. Roy, I owe you one."

"Just friends, no need for that."

Roy chuckled, turning to Meredith, who was slower to recover. "So, still think my compensation's lacking?"

"Sorry, Mr. Roy. I take back my rude comment."

Meredith took a deep breath. "For a one-year contract, this is perfect."

"Quick question: if I renew next year, can I get another potential unlock?"

No way.

Roy gave a cryptic smile. "My rewards will never disappoint, whenever."

"Understood."

Meredith signed the contract.

"Pleasure working with you, Mr. Roy."

"Likewise."

Roy stored the contract and used a Green entry to unlock Meredith's attribute panel.

Though less dramatic than Le Fay's boost, Meredith beamed.

He then casually discussed management details, brushing past her questions.

Winking at Le Fay, Roy stood. "That's it for this meeting. I've got another guest."

"Meredith, once you're done here, come to Kuoh Town."

"I'll wrap things up fast."

Meredith nodded.

"Looking forward to it."

Roy left the restaurant, stopping in an alley hundreds of meters away.

Half an hour later, a magic circle glowed, and Le Fay, back in her magician attire, stepped out with her wand.

"Mr. Roy, I'm here."

"Said goodbye to Meredith?"

"…No, I didn't dare."

Le Fay lowered her head. "I'm scared she won't accept me joining the Khaos Brigade."

"If you don't tell her, she'll take it worse."

Roy glanced at a panel only he could see.

[Oath of Eternal Loyalty (Red): Sealing magic talent +1000%, unwavering trust in those deemed worthy.]

One Green, two Purples, two Reds—her starting entries outshone Le Fay's.

As the second wielder of Dimension Lost, a top-tier Longinus, Meredith's high-quality entries were expected.

Roy cared more about their effects.

Lingering on [Blackening] and [Justice], he looked at the hesitant blonde. "Le Fay, you probably don't know Meredith's true identity."

"True identity?"

"Meredith's current parents aren't her real ones. She's the child of an English royal and a magician guard."

"The royal didn't want to acknowledge his illegitimate daughter, so Meredith was fostered to a magician family."

"Out of love, her mother secretly met her once and told her the truth."

"That experience made Meredith sensitive to status and betrayal."

"If you vanish without a word, it'll hit her harder than you think."

Le Fay fell silent.

Thinking back, she recalled Meredith often asking about noble etiquette after learning Le Fay was a Pendragon.

Le Fay hadn't paid it mind, but Roy's words made it click.

Meredith craved recognition.

Born royal but denied equal rights, it tormented her.

If her only friend ghosted her now…

Le Fay gripped her wand. "Mr. Roy, I owe you another."

Roy smiled. "No thanks needed. Hurry and say goodbye to Meredith."

"Alright, I'm off."

Le Fay summoned a teleportation circle and vanished.

Watching her go, Roy turned to a nearby empty lot. "Still not coming out?"

"…When did you notice me?"

A rift split the air, and Arthur stepped out, asking.

Roy shrugged. "Didn't at first. But when Le Fay greeted me at the restaurant, you got a bit emotional."

It was fleeting, but Roy caught a hint of killing intent.

He'd thought it was an ambush.

But after a Senjutsu scan, he realized it was just an overprotective brother losing his cool.

"Wanna fight?"

Sensing Arthur's hostility, Roy drew Gram from his waist. "My swordsmanship's hit a wall. Could use a spar."
