It was the next day, even though she was still sleepy Chae was up and knocking on my door at the time I had told her to. I gladly opened the door, letting her in.
"Good morning Mr. Michael." Chae said quietly, her eyes slowly moving to Nora who was still fast asleep.
"Again, no need to be so formal." I replied as I shut the door. Nora came in and sat on the chair by the desk.
"I don't find it right to address you so casually." Chae said, her voice almost a whisper as she looked down, her eyes gazing off into thin air before I poked her. She gasped and looked up at me.
"Very well then." I said as I sat on the bed across her, crossing my legs as I slowly looked her up and down.
"Today we'll study magic theory, so don't expect anything too fun." I continued with a slight hint of amusement in my voice.
"O-Okay Mr. Michael!" She said, eager to learn but still quiet as Nora slept and she didn't want to wake her up.
"As you know, there are 10 types of magic..." I said as I slowly got up and started to demonstrate.
"...fire, water, earth, wind, ice, lightning, healing, summoning, blood and dark type magic users are seen regularly, even if some are more rare than the other there is still a 1 in 10.000 chance that someone is born with a type of magic. And also a 1 in a 10.000.000 chance for a second type of magic. Yet even without a type of magic as long as you go through the correct training you can achieve Basic Magic. It allows you to cast basic offensive and defensive spells and lets you gain basic mana control, allowing you to amplify your physical abilities if taught. Other than that there is Holy Magic which only the hero of the age, such as I, are born with. It allows us to use every other magic type, has its own holy spells which are powerful in their own right, allows us to use all spells in an advanced variation making them more effective and powerful and it completely nullifies dark magic which the monsters of Yuggswrath are usually born with. Now then, explain to me what type you have access to!" I ask curiously as I finish explaining. Chae nods, looking up confidentally.
"I have access to both ice and blood magic, Mr. Michael!" Chae says proudly. I look curiously.
"An interesting combination. What about your Blessed Ability? Do you have access to one?" I asked, wondering if she had a Blessed Ability. Chae looked at me, slightly nervous.
"Yes, Mr. Michael. It's called Corruption! It can-" Just as Chae was about to tell me about her ability, I cut her off.
"It allows you to alter creatures weaker than you, letting you infuse them with your blood magic and turning them into a creature that you control." I said, accurately describing her Blessed Ability. Chae looked at me, rather confused.
"Y-Yes, but how could you possibly have known that?" She asked curiously. I sighed deeply before replying.
"A great mage who was under the influence of Yuggswrath, the demon king, had the same magic types and Blessed Ability. I couldn't kill her as she ended up taking her life while she made sure to use the Blessed Ability of one of her henchmen to make sure she was reincarnated." I explained. Chae looked up at me in awe.
"So I'm a super strong mage?" She asked excitedly. I smiled softly, kneeling down to her level.
"Mhm, you have great potential Chae. And I will make sure you achieve that potential. For the next few months I promise to train you and teach you everything I can about how to use your powers." I say, placing a hand on her head, slowly stroking her hair. Her cheeks flushed, and she giggled softly. I then spoke up.
"Go eat now! Can't train on a hungry stomach!" I shouted, my voice full of energy. She smiled widely, her smile as warming as the sun.
"Okay!" Chae yelled as she ran out of the room, happy with her newfound closeness with me. As I stood up, the now awake Nora spoke up as she slowly got out of bed.
"Well I suppose we're gonna train her huh?" Nora said with a calming smile.
"I guess so." I replied as I got ready to leave the room.
