Chapter 44 - More and More

Scene 1: SMK Keningau II – Time Anomaly in the Library

A strange phenomenon occurs: time loops around the school library. Books fly, clocks spin backward, and no one seems to notice—except Nel, Chelestar, and Azryael.

Suddenly, everything stops.

A polite voice echoes:

> "So… you're the ones who broke Malzaphor. Impressive."

From behind a bookshelf steps Eryndor, the Fourth Child of the Architect. He's elegant, dressed in a clockwork robe, with gears turning behind his eyes.

Eryndor (bowing slightly):

> "I am not here to fight. I'm here to test your minds."

He gestures—and instantly, they are pulled into a Chronoscape: a puzzle-like dimension of floating gears, stairways, and mirrored doors.

---

Scene 2: The Chronoscape Challenge

Each of the trio is separated:

Nel faces a riddle about his birth—forced to confront illusions of Bangador, Dextor, and Ozgath whispering truths and lies.

Chelestar is trapped in a room where she must choose between saving Nel or saving a thousand innocents—an illusion, but emotionally scarring.

Azryael walks through her memories—moments when she questioned the Architect, reliving her rebellion.

At the center, Eryndor watches from his gear throne, amused.

Eryndor:

> "The mind is a stronger prison than any vine, wouldn't you say?"

---

Scene 3: Breaking the Game

But Nel begins to shift reality again—using his innate power as the Child of the Bang to rewrite the Chronoscape's rules. He steps through walls, speaks directly into Chelestar's challenge, and gives Azryael a memory she never lived.

They reunite.

Nel:

> "Your games are clever, Eryndor. But I'm not bound by time."

Chelestar (burning with foxfire):

> "We don't need to solve riddles… we rewrite them!"

Azryael (summoning light):

> "Or burn through them."

The three blast Eryndor's throne—shattering the Chronoscape.

---

Scene 4: A Polite Warning

Back in the real world, Eryndor appears unharmed, brushing dust from his robe.

Eryndor (smiling calmly):

> "You passed. But the next sibling won't play fair like I do."

He vanishes—leaving behind a ticking gear that embeds itself in Nel's palm.

Nel (looking at it):

> "A countdown…?"

---

Final Scene: Tease of the Next Sibling

Somewhere in a temple of ice and mirrors, a tall woman with silver hair and a blindfold opens her hand.

"Your turn," she says.

Her name echoes in the void: Velcyra—the Icebound Seer of Judgement.
