Chapter 8 - Hecatonchires And Cyclopes

Hades walked through the red sand of torture, his body was filled with leeches that are sucking his divine energy but Hades did nothing to stop them. All around him were sinners who were treated like sinners, being sucked dry of divine energy and left to regenerate only to supply all that power to the leeches again. He finally reached the end of the desert and entered another realm of fire and lava flowing like rivers.

The leeches that were sucking his divine energy immediately let go of his body, the heat from just staying at this place burned his skin which turned black under the heart nearly giving away and fading into dust but his infinite body and energy allowed him to continue forward. He finally arrived where the Hecatonchires and cyclopes were imprisoned and punished by being burned by the flames of Tartarus. In a split movement, he attacked the chains by trying to cut them with divine energy, but nothing happened.

"Who are you?" The Cyclops questioned Hades, he never meant anyone who tried to free them. There was Cronus, but he just wanted their craft a. After he had forged the sickle, they were sealed once again.

"I am Hades, eldest son of Cronus and Rhea. I am destined to overthrow Cronus, and I would like your help, which is a later part of the deal. Let's first free you two," Hades said as he didn't let the failure stop him and tried again and again using divine energy curved like that of a blade, even using his energy as a hammer. Meanwhile, the Hecatonchires and cyclopes were touched that he would try so hard to make this happen for them. Unlike anyone they had met before, Hades was trying to help them before asking for their help.

Contrary to their expectation, however, Hades was only doing this out of a sense of responsibility and gratitude to Gaia. Responsibility because he is bound by Ela's last wish to make sure the world moves in the order it is supposed to, and gratitude because, well, she did try to save him even if he didn't need it. Hades tried over and over again, but it was not possible as he looked at the chains, confused.

"These are chains of Tartarus; nothing in this world can break them unless you defeat Tartarus or convince him to let us free," Hecatonchires answered the unasked question of Hades. Who nodded and said

"You will have to wait just a while longer, I will go to Tartarus right now and ask him for help."

The Cyclopes and Hecatonchires looked at Hades like he said something out of the world as they burst out laughing. After calming down, they said, "That would be nearly impossible. There is a reason why Tartarus is known as the best prison in the world. Because there is no one who Tartarus would listen to other than the god king. You would have better luck trying to break this chain than convincing Tartarus."

"This is quite the pickle, I would rather not have to fight Tartarus since he is necessary for the existence of the world." Hades said as he thought of ways to free these souls without needing to kill a canon character. The Cyclopes and Hecatonchires just shook their heads and thought that Hades was overestimating his strength, even if he killed a titan, primordial beings were on a whole other plane of existence altogether.

"We have leg room, Why don't we craft you a weapon and when you kill Cronus you could free us" Cyclope said, this was exactly how they were promised the freedom but Cronus went back on his word. However this time, they decided to trust again in the child of Cronus being different from his father or at least they hoped he retained his sanity long enough for them to be free.

"That would not work. I need to free you so you can craft me a weapon. I don't give promises if I can avoid it, plus I already decided to take charge of the world, and I can't let innocent people suffer in my world." Hades said as he used his divine energy to travel to the very center of this realm, where he saw a giant castle on lead on top of the lava by chains. There was no way anyone could penetrate it without flying, and just the winged beast with red skin and dragon horns was enough to tell that it was going to be impossible without fighting the army of demon-looking creatures.

Hades approached the castle flying at a moderate speed, showing that he meant no harm, however, two of the demons stopped him. They said, "How are you? And why have you come here?"

"I am the god of infinity, Hades. The eldest son of Cronus and Rhea. I have come to ask an audience with Tartarus," Hades said in a tone filled with confidence and calm, but not arrogance and pride. "May I know what kind of creatures you are?"

"We are the Draconickin used as the personal army of Tartarus," One of the Draconickin said. They were honestly impressed by this young god to come all the over from the outer regions of Tartarus to the centermost. The amount of trials and pain he had to go through was immense, as they saw many of their brothers fall to Tartarus.

"We can't allow you to pass any longer, as we are under strict orders by our lord Tartarus. However, since you are a special guest, please wait here while I go deliver this message to our lord." Another one said, he looked like the leader of the Draconickin as his horns were bigger and thinner than most. Hades nodded as he slowly got down onto the floor and sat in a meditative position before shutting out the entire world.

The Draconickin, without a delay, left to inform the lord and told the rest of them not to disturb him. Of course, the rest agreed but started to talk behind Hades' back, like rumors or insulting him. They didn't mean it since most of them have grown up to become fighting maniacs and would fight anyone who would try and fight anything strong. Since Hades has survived Tartarus, the most dangerous place in the world, he has been considered strong among them, causing them to want to fight him.

They can't go against their leader's words, but if Hades were to attack them first, then it would count as self-defense. Even if the truth was found out later on, they were technically not at fault since they followed their leader's word. Hades himself was quite calm about this, even if he was hearing everything they said, at this point, he couldn't care less about any of it and only wanted to fulfill his responsibility. That is the only reason for him to continue living.
