Chapter 13 - The Saber

TIME TO LEAVE – CAVE ENTRANCE

Back at the entrance, I find Ahsoka sitting with the crystal in her hand, spinning it between her fingers with a wide smile.

"I thought you got lost in there."

"I almost lost myself," I reply.

Barriss arrives shortly after, holding the green crystal in her hands, her face serene.

"Looks like we all came back whole. More whole than when we went in."

We looked at each other for a moment. Our crystals now in hand, the future lightsabers to come. But more than that... our bond stronger than ever.

The construction room inside the Jedi ship was silent, almost sacred. The Kyber crystals floated in the air, their colors vibrating like living pulsars.

Ahsoka was beside me, eyes closed, calmly guiding the parts of her lightsaber. A single saber — her first.

The green crystal pulsed before her, gently spinning as the parts fit together as if drawn by destiny.

Barriss, seated on the other side, watched us with her typical calm and attentive gaze. We exchanged a brief look, and she nodded with a small smile, encouraging me.

The parts of my lightsaber floated before me, but hesitantly. I felt something was still incomplete. There was a subtle restlessness within me, as if the saber was waiting for something… more.

Then I heard the familiar mechanical steps of Huyang approaching.

"Young Revan… you know, many years ago, I helped the first Mandalorian Jedi build his lightsaber. He left me some special pieces… I thought you might be interested in them."

My eyes widened at the tray he held out. Pieces forged from true beskar — the legendary Mandalorian metal. They shone with an almost living presence, reflecting the room's light with a cold, respectful gleam. I reached out my hands, almost in disbelief.

"This is… beskar ?"

"Few have the privilege to work with this metal. Even fewer have the right. But you… are different. Something tells me it's fitting."

I held the pieces carefully. The weight was different. More than dense — it was historic. Alive. I sat down again and took a deep breath.

I closed my eyes.

I let the Force guide me.

The pieces began to move, levitated by my connection to the energy around me. The crystal floated to the center — neither green nor blue, but white. Pure. Immaculate. When the crystal settled, a wave of peace swept through my body like a breath.

The beskar plates rotated around the core, forming the saber's structure with firmness and symmetry. The brown leather wrapped around the hilt precisely, finishing with classic aesthetics. The saber was elegant, strong… a reflection of who I was.

The saber floated into my hand.

I activated it.

The white blade appeared with a soft but unusual roar. The sound wasn't the usual — it was as if hundreds of tiny crystals danced inside the saber, emitting a living, delicate, and ancient echo. Everyone in the room turned to watch.

Ahsoka smiled.

"Impressive…"

The saber's sound still echoed lightly as I spun it in the air. The blade left a luminous trail like moving snow, and the crystalline sound accompanied every swing as if the saber was… singing.

Barriss looked at me silently, her eyes shining with respect.

At that moment, I understood. This was not just a lightsaber. It was an extension of my soul — part light, part war, and completely mine.

Jedi Temple – Outer Training Terrace

The sky above the Jedi Temple was clear, painted a calm blue. The breeze gently blew through white pillars and blossoming trees. We were on the training terrace, an open space where Jedi of all levels tested their skills. And now, it was our turn.

I activated my saber.

The white blade lit my face, emitting that familiar sound — like crystals whispering as they moved inside the structure. Ahsoka stood to the left, poised with her green saber. Barriss took the opposite side, her expression serene but firm.

Ahsoka was the first to move, running zigzag with feline lightness. Barriss followed right behind, her saber spinning with precision, slicing the air with discipline. I stayed in the center… waiting for the right moment.

I spun my body and propelled myself forward with the Force, the jump was high, spinning in the air before descending onto both of them. My blade collided with Ahsoka's with a sharp bang.

I counterattacked Barriss immediately with a powerful sequence of strikes — Form V moves, Djem So — all firm, dominant, forcing her to retreat.

"This style… was the only one I really felt connected to," I said between moves. "Direct, powerful. Mandalorian."

I don't know if it was my Mandalorian blood, but my blood boiled with the desire for fight and victory.

I jumped back, landing in a spin with my knee bent. Ahsoka tried to surprise me from the flank, but I slid under her strike and used the Force to gently push her away, not hurting her — just enough to break her balance. Barriss tried to strike me from above, and I spun my body swiftly, parrying the blow and dodging aside. My leg came in a quick spin, knocking her down with a clean hit to the ankle.

She fell sideways, but rolled gracefully and was already getting up before finishing the move.

Ahsoka came back with a Force-powered jump, spinning her saber in an aerial attack. I raised my saber and the clash resonated, sparks of white and green light.

I activated the Force in my feet and shot to her side, reappearing at her flank and pressing with two short, fast attacks. She parried the first, but the second made her stagger.

"You've been different since you built that saber," Ahsoka said, panting but smiling. "More… whole."

"Maybe I am."

Barriss joined us, and for a moment, the three of us crossed sabers in a whirlwind of light and sound. The dance between blades was intense but harmonious. Every strike, every step, every retreat — like a silent conversation among friends. It wasn't just combat. It was connection. Jedi passed by in the distance and stopped to watch. Some masters crossed their arms, curious.

A few young padawans sat on the ground, attentive. That fight was not common.

I stomped firmly on the ground, channeling the Force and creating space between us with a powerful push. Ahsoka slid back, Barriss spun in the air before landing on her feet. I advanced again with two quick steps and a series of firm attacks, forcing Ahsoka and Barriss to retreat in sync. It was the heart of Djem So — total control of the situation.

In the end, we all jumped back, sabers pointed at each other. Panting. Smiling.

I deactivated mine first. The white light retracted with a soft sound, like a crystal settling into rest.

"That was amazing," Ahsoka said, laughing softly. "I think we'll have to train more if we want to keep up with you, Ravan."

"Or maybe you're just giving me a courtesy advantage," I replied, smiling.Barriss approached, saber deactivated.

"It's not just strength. You're more centered. The Force flows differently in you now."

I looked up at the sky for a moment.

"Maybe it's the saber. Or maybe… it's what I accepted about myself."

And at that moment, as the wind blew and the three of us returned to the center of the courtyard, it was a beautiful afternoon, no doubt.
