Julian entered the planet quite swiftly with the spaceship. He knew he was surely heading to somewhere considered a death land, but what could he do? What must be done must be done.
The ship descended slowly, nose tilted down, as icy gusts slammed against the hull with low, scraping howls. Frost spread along the cockpit glass, and the engines strained, pushing against the wind. Julian adjusted the throttle, easing the landing gears out.
The snowfields stretched below like an endless white ocean. No signs of roads, landing pads—nothing. Just a large expanse of snowy land. He picked a flat ridge between two jagged cliffs and brought the ship down. The whole frame vibrated as he did so, probably from impact. The feet sank a little into the packed ice, but nonetheless, it was stable. The engines stopped, and silence swept through.
Julian exhaled and opened the entrance.
Snow hit instantly.
