Chapter 65 - Mysterious Narcissism (Part 2) — Huo Yuhao's Clutches

"I understand your feelings. If you like me, just say it openly. There's nothing to be ashamed of."Huo Yuhao spoke as the two of them got closer and closer.

Wang Qiu'er furrowed her elegant brows slightly. She really couldn't figure out where this guy got his confidence. No—narcissism was a better word. Just as Wang Qiu'er was about to explain—

Suddenly, her beautiful eyes widened. Her mind went blank. Her body froze, paralyzed on the spot.

At that moment, Huo Yuhao kissed Wang Qiu'er on her red lips. Seeing her stunned, Huo Yuhao boldly pushed her down onto the bed.

Unfortunately, Qidian doesn't allow further development.

Bang!Huo Yuhao's body was sent flying and slammed against the wall with a dull thud.

Wang Qiu'er stood up, her clothes slightly disheveled from the struggle. Her face was flushed with two crimson patches, but her expression had changed—filled with disgust. Looking at Huo Yuhao, who was half-sitting on the floor, she gritted her teeth and said, "You really surprised me. Disgusting."

With that, she slammed the door and left.

She didn't see the slight curve appear at the corner of Huo Yuhao's mouth as she turned around, his face showing the victorious smile of someone whose scheme had succeeded.

"Not bad. This way, she probably won't come bothering me again. I'll stoke the fire a bit more tomorrow. Otherwise, if that girl calms down and thinks it through, this will all be wasted effort."Huo Yuhao thought to himself.

Yes, he did all this to completely get rid of the Wang Qiu'er problem. He had been laying the groundwork for over ten days.

Of course, Huo Yuhao knew that Wang Qiu'er didn't have any romantic feelings toward him right now. He was just a living punching bag to her. The reason he acted like this was to make Wang Qiu'er see him as a complete scumbag—especially one that was hitting on her.

However, just after getting rid of one headache, an even bigger one showed up. When Huo Yuhao went down to the first floor, he froze, his face instantly covered with dark lines.

"Heh heh, little guy, this old man came uninvited. You're not going to tell me I'm unwelcome, are you?"The speaker was an old man in black robes sitting on the sofa in the living room—white hair, a youthful face… and bald.

Du Busi. A strange name, and the Sect Master of the Body Sect.

Crap. That fast? Why the hell did this old man come personally? Do they think that highly of me?Huo Yuhao cursed inwardly. He had expected the Body Sect to reach out, but not this quickly—and not with a full-on power move.

He had originally thought that after exposing his ties to the Dai family, the Body Sect would mistakenly assume he inherited the White Tiger Martial Soul. Looks like those damn cubs did their homework.

Huo Yuhao was somewhat mentally prepared for this, but he never expected this old man to show up in person. He really wanted to ask, "Aren't you a little too free?"

"Senior, not at all. It is this junior's greatest honor to have you grace my humble abode…"Even though he was grumbling internally, he still had to play polite on the surface.

A moment later—"Senior, please enjoy your tea."Huo Yuhao, acting like a little tea-serving waiter, handed over a cup and stood to the side, looking a bit stiff and awkward.

"Little guy, sit down. How can the guest sit while the host stands? That would make me a bad guest, wouldn't it?"Du Busi's tone was warm and friendly.

Makes sense, honestly, Huo Yuhao muttered in his head, but still sat down across from Du Busi.

Du Busi took a light sip of tea, then glanced at the silent Huo Yuhao, and slowly said, "Looks like you've guessed why I'm here."

Hearing this, Huo Yuhao's expression didn't change much. He just forced a smile and replied, "This junior is just a mere Soul Elder. Surely I'm not worth all this effort, Senior?"

"Heh heh. The old geezers at Shrek aren't blind. If I came even a year later, they'd probably beat me to the punch. And who would I complain to then?"

Du Busi said with a chuckle. Then he asked,"Little guy, you seem quite resistant to joining our Body Sect. Why is that? Is it because of our bad reputation?"

"This junior isn't that shallow. It's just that I'm used to living free and unrestrained. I never planned to join any faction. I hope Senior can understand."

After he said that, Huo Yuhao started to sweat a bit. A Rank-98 Super Douluo was personally inviting him, and he still dared to refuse? Who gave him the guts?

Du Busi: "..."

You're not even thirteen, and you're talking to me about life philosophy? Are you kidding?

"Oh? So you just don't want to be tied down? That's easy. I'll promise right now: unless the sect faces an external invasion, we will never impose any restrictions on you in any way. On top of that, I can accept you as my personal disciple. How's that?"

It had to be said—Du Busi's offer was very tempting. Damn, that was insanely generous. Too good to be true, right?

"Then, at least tell me why you value me so much, Senior?"Huo Yuhao didn't immediately agree, even though he was tempted. He asked the most important question.

He was aware of his talent, sure—but that still shouldn't be enough to earn this level of attention from a Rank-98 powerhouse. Huo Yuhao knew himself well: right now, in the grand scheme of the Douluo Continent, he was still just a little caterpillar.

"Because you are the successor I've chosen. I know what you're thinking. Sure, there are a ton of people in our sect stronger than you. But the Sect Master doesn't just need strength. Have you heard of the Inheritance Mark?"

Huo Yuhao shook his head, confused. He really hadn't. But from the name, it sounded like something impressive.

"You probably don't know the history of our Body Sect. Our founding ancestor was someone who surpassed Rank-99—a demi-god who had one foot in godhood. I'm sure you've heard of gods during your time at Shrek."Du Busi began explaining the sect's origins.

Huo Yuhao nodded. He wasn't exactly unfamiliar—those gods might actually become his enemies one day.

"The Shrek Seven were able to find suitable divine inheritances, which allowed them to receive divine trials and become so powerful. Without those trials, they probably wouldn't have even broken through Rank-99, let alone become gods. Of course, the fact they received divine trials shows their talent too."

On that point, Huo Yuhao agreed. Becoming a powerhouse required not just hard work, but also fate and luck. Take the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, for example—if Tang San's group hadn't taken the immortal herbs, their future might have been completely different. No damn Sea God either.
