Chapter 28: Orders from the Deep
Location: Enemy Destroyer Ship – Open Waters
The steel corridors echoed with precise footsteps. In the command chamber of the enemy ship, the Captain—stoic, grey-bearded, eyes like sharpened blades—stood by the large radar display. The ocean outside was calm, hiding the storm that brewed beneath the surface.
A sharp knock.
"Enter," the Captain barked.
The Vice-Captain stepped in and saluted crisply.
"You called for me, sir?"
"Yes," the Captain replied, not turning his gaze from the radar. "We received a signal from our contact—Viren. According to him, there are still survivors on the island."
The Vice-Captain's brow furrowed.
"That's impossible, sir. We eliminated every name in the list. No personnel should've survived that assault."
The Captain turned slowly, his voice cold and commanding.
"Should've and did are two different things. I don't take chances. You will assemble a strike force—twenty men. Fully armed."
The Vice-Captain hesitated for the first time.
"Sir… with the boat capacity we have, it will take almost a full day to reach the island."
The Captain's eyes narrowed.
"Then start now. Make it quick. I want them there by tomorrow sunrise."
"Yes, sir," the Vice-Captain responded, stiffening up.
"And one more thing," the Captain added, stepping closer. "If they find survivors—kill them on the spot. No questions asked. But if the situation is out of control… if they face unexpected resistance, or if the enemy force is larger…"
He paused, then lowered his voice.
"…then they send a Code Red. We'll send reinforcements. Heavy."
The Vice-Captain nodded.
"Understood, sir. I'll prepare the unit."
As he turned to leave, the Captain added with an icy smile:
"This time, no mistakes. That island must go silent… permanently."
