Chapter 77 - CHAPTER 77

Brush!

With a soft ripple in the space, Uchiha Yue's figure emerged silently in the center of his private chamber within the Uchiha compound of Konoha Village.

"Well, teleportation really is convenient… though it eats up a lot of chakra," he muttered, glancing around the familiar room. It was as he had left it—quiet, clean, and orderly. Yet even as he appreciated the stability, he felt it—roughly one-tenth of his chakra reserves had been drained in the process.

This teleportation was no ordinary technique. Developed by Yue himself, it combined the Flying Thunder God Technique created by the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, with Kamui, the space-time dojutsu of Obito Uchiha's Mangekyō Sharingan. Yue had meticulously adapted the mechanics of both, constructing a hybrid time-space ninjutsu uniquely his own.

Just moments ago, he had activated this advanced technique to instantly travel from the Fire Country's far border—thousands of kilometers from the village—back to Konoha's heart. A feat only possible due to his massive chakra capacity and intimate mastery over both space-time and ocular ninjutsu.

"Still, if I didn't have a chakra pool close to that of a Tailed Beast, this would have left me dry," he thought, shaking his head.

He brushed aside further thoughts about chakra expenditure. His Sharingan spun gently in the darkness, instantly clarifying the room in detail. The polished surfaces, dustless floor, and fresh scent of herbal incense betrayed a caretaker's hand.

"Hmph… Tianyin's been meticulous while I was away. That's reassuring."

Indeed, since recapturing Konoha from Danzo's faction and beginning his reforms, Yue had ensured a few trusted Uchiha remained behind while others—like Uchiha Flint—joined his active campaign. Uchiha Tianyin, his cousin and a steady hand among the clan, had been charged with overseeing internal village affairs.

However, despite returning to the heart of his power, Yue didn't plan to announce his presence. "No… it's not the time to show myself yet. I've come this far—one last push. No need to stir waves prematurely," he mused as his form shimmered, becoming intangible. With a soundless motion, he sank into the ground—using Kamui Phase Shift, a space-warping move akin to Obito's own technique—vanishing without a trace.

Yue had always preferred efficiency. Simplicity in execution. Speed in gaining advantage. For him, the only benefits that mattered were those fully within his grasp—claimed, secured, and digested. Opportunities left dangling risked being lost to the whims of fate. Even the most obvious advantage could vanish in a moment, like smoke before the wind.

Time passed quietly.

When Uchiha Yue reappeared, it was in an entirely different chamber—modest, warm, and tastefully decorated in the traditional Hyūga style. A pale lavender curtain swayed lightly by the window, and in the center of the room, a petite figure lay asleep atop a futon.

"Hyūga Hinata… so it is her." Yue's eyes softened slightly as he observed the child. Her brows were furrowed even in sleep, and her breathing was uneven.

"A nightmare?" he mused, watching her with an expression that held no trace of guilt or hesitation, despite the late-hour intrusion.

"Ninjutsu: Illusory Dream Domain."

Without delay, Yue performed a subtle hand sign. A faint shimmer surrounded Hinata's sleeping form as he placed a parasitic spore—one of his customized chakra markers—upon her and injected a genjutsu that gently harmonized with her mental state.

Hinata's breath evened out almost instantly. Her expression eased, and her small frame relaxed. At the same time, Yue's consciousness slipped into the illusion—merging the mental plane with his Illusory World, a Mangekyō-enhanced genjutsu realm resembling a mental dojo.

Inside, Yue found himself standing within a stylized Hyūga training hall—elegantly sparse, ringed by paper walls and tatami mats. There, little Hinata stood alone, diligently practicing the Gentle Fist.

Her movements, while earnest, were awkward and stilted. Even a layman could see the errors: missed stances, wavering footwork, and too-frequent stumbles. Each time she failed, she turned toward the stern visage of a man seated at the far end of the dojo—clearly Hyūga Hiashi, her father—and bowed deeply in apology.

"Even in her dreams, she's driven to meet his expectations," Yue whispered. "And that expression… no wonder her real body kept frowning."

He remained at the edge of the dojo for a moment, his Sharingan capturing every detail. In his past life, Yue had always been fond of Hinata—one of the manga's most endearing characters. Her quiet strength, her sincerity, her unwavering devotion… she embodied the kind of gentleness that stood firm under pressure.

"Beautiful, kind-hearted, and stronger than anyone gives her credit for. Too bad I didn't arrive early enough to 'cut the line,' so to speak," he thought, a small smile playing at his lips.

Ever since regaining his memories from his past life, Yue had been occupied with surviving Itachi, building a power base, and fending off Konoha's internal strife. Romance or personal bonds had taken a backseat.

"But this… this might be the time to start laying groundwork."

With a silent decision made, Yue spoke aloud, his voice resonating clearly through the illusory realm.

"Your dedication is admirable, Hinata. But your technique lacks rhythm, spontaneity, and most of all—spirit. You're training your body, but ignoring your heart."

His words echoed unnaturally in the quiet dojo.

Startled, Hinata's eyes darted up. She stumbled, nearly falling again, before catching herself and spotting the speaker.

"Eh?! B-Brother Hokage!?" she gasped, her soft voice carrying a mixture of shock and confusion.

Yue chuckled lightly. "Brother Hokage? That's not a bad title. I think I like it. And in return, I'll call you Hinata. Fair?"

The little girl's face turned a vivid shade of red. "Th-that… um…"

Flustered, she glanced instinctively toward her father's illusory image—as if seeking permission—even though this was clearly her own subconscious creation.

Even in dreams, her reserved nature held firm. Her earlier surprise had loosened her tongue, but now her usual shyness returned with full force.

Watching her reaction, Yue's expression softened further.

It seemed this meeting—though unplanned—might prove to be far more meaningful than he'd anticipated.
