Without a moment's hesitation, Uchiha Heiro stepped forward and spoke directly, his tone resolute. He immediately revealed the details of both his Mangekyō Sharingan abilities, and even went so far as to demonstrate them on the spot with practiced clarity.
Following his lead, Uchiha Kurotsu also came forward without delay. Hot on his heels were Uchiha Qingtian and Uchiha Tianyin, who similarly did not hold back. Each one explained and displayed their respective Mangekyō Sharingan abilities with transparency, their eyes glowing with power.
However, once all three had fully demonstrated their ocular abilities, Uchiha Yue's expression shifted subtly into one of awkward surprise.
Of the six Mangekyō Sharingan eyes among the three shinobi, four of them bore variations of Amaterasu, the fearsome black flames said to be as hot as the sun. Uchiha Qingtian and Uchiha Kurotsu each possessed a single Amaterasu-based ability, but the twist lay with Uchiha Tianyin: both of her Mangekyō possessed distinct manifestations of Amaterasu.
Fortunately, just as with Uchiha Obito's dual Kamui abilities—one in each eye with complementary teleportation functions—and Uchiha Shisui's Kotoamatsukami, which only appeared in one eye but could eventually be used again, Tianyin's ocular powers—despite both stemming from Amaterasu—each had unique effects. Had they been redundant, it would've been a regrettable waste of her potential.
More importantly, just as Uchiha Yue had speculated when he initially conceptualized his own Mangekyō pupil techniques, abilities originating from a shared source could evolve synergistically. When two Mangekyō abilities were deeply complementary in origin, they would enter a state of linkage fusion, where their powers would blend and evolve into a more advanced and versatile technique.
Just like Obito's two Kamui abilities—short-range teleportation and long-range intangibility—which together represented an advanced mastery over the same spatial dimension, Tianyin's twin Amaterasu-based abilities had undergone a similar evolution. The foundational power was identical, but their individual expressions had matured into something far greater.
As for Yue himself, his own eyes held abilities that were both polar opposites and intrinsically unified. Through their harmony, he had created the transcendent realm of the Illusory World, a domain capable of manipulating real phenomena from illusion. This profound fusion had propelled him to his current heights.
Now, Tianyin's twin Mangekyō had followed a parallel path. Not only could she project the black flames of Amaterasu from her line of sight, but she had also developed the terrifying ability to transform her entire body into Amaterasu flames.
One of her eyes turned her gaze into a scorching weapon of destruction, while the other transformed her into a living embodiment of divine fire—much like the goddess Amaterasu-Ōmikami of legend. The flames did not merely obey her—they were her. Her chakra and spirit had become their origin.
In this way, despite all of them wielding Amaterasu, Uchiha Tianyin's evolution of the technique was epic in scale, with wide-ranging offensive and defensive potential far beyond her peers.
In comparison, both Uchiha Qingtian and Uchiha Heiro possessed differing abilities in their Mangekyō, each with its own utility and strength, but ultimately lacking the transformative synergy that Tianyin had achieved.
Qingtian's second Mangekyō ability, Fengju Tingzun, allowed him to conjure a field of black, swamp-like mud that could trap and engulf his enemies. Its suppressive and devouring nature gave it strong tactical value, especially in battlefield control.
Meanwhile, Kurotsu's second ability, Jianyu Thor, had a flashier name than function. It worked by visually marking a target and then triggering a lightning strike from above—a surprise attack with excellent speed and timing. However, the destructive force of the lightning was underwhelming, far inferior to techniques like the Lightning Release: Kirin, which Sasuke developed using thunderclouds and natural lightning. Thus, while Jianyu Thor had its place, it lacked the devastation required to shift high-level battles.
Uchiha Yue nodded thoughtfully after observing all this, then offered his evaluations.
"For Tianyin, your twin Amaterasu abilities have clearly merged and evolved. You should continue refining this transformation into the fire itself. Think of it not just as ninjutsu but as a new form of movement and survival. Perhaps study high-level Fire Release and adapt a new Amaterasu-style escape technique around it."
He paused before continuing, "Since you can become fire itself, do not neglect taijutsu. Imagine what it means to engage in close-quarters combat while in a body of divine flame. The result could become one of the most terrifying forms of ninjutsu ever seen."
Turning to the other two, Yue continued: "Qingtian, Kurotsu—your abilities don't share a common origin. That limits your ability to fuse or evolve them. Instead, you must understand your Mangekyō abilities in full detail and build your tactics around them. Think of your eyes as high-tier ninjutsu scrolls—study them, master them, and wield them with precision."
"If you strike at the right moment, even a single use can determine the outcome of a battle."
However, Yue's expression turned serious as he continued. "That said, the Mangekyō Sharingan comes with a fatal flaw—prolonged use will gradually blind the user. This isn't a myth—it's the documented fate of countless Uchiha throughout our history."
All three shinobi stared at him in shock. Until now, the euphoria of awakening Mangekyō had drowned out any concerns of consequence.
Uchiha Yue went on calmly, "There's no need to hide this. Once your vision starts to blur, you'll notice it yourselves. Better you know now and avoid reckless use."
He sighed slightly, then added, "Remember Uchiha Sasuke from the future timelines. After awakening Mangekyō, he relied on it excessively. The result? He went blind faster than anyone in clan history. His pace of deterioration was astonishing."
Still, Sasuke's twin abilities—Amaterasu and Kagutsuchi—were in fact complementary, with one creating black flames and the other shaping and controlling them. It was from this synergy that he developed Inferno Style, playing Amaterasu to its peak potential.
In that sense, Tianyin's development bore striking resemblance to Sasuke's path—except that she possessed the additional ability to become the flame itself, a feat even Sasuke never achieved.
Hence, Yue's advice to Tianyin directly borrowed from Sasuke's development of Amaterasu—but her potential was even greater.
In contrast, Qingtian and Kurotsu were more typical Mangekyō users—granted unique abilities but lacking natural synergy between them. Without linkage, their development paths would be limited to mastering two powerful techniques, nothing more.
As such, Yue did not offer them elaborate strategies, simply trusting them to manage their own growth from here.
"Mangekyō has a flaw?" Qingtian asked with a frown. "Lord Patriarch, is there any way to counter or avoid this blindness?"
Heiro and Kurotsu joined in, anxiety clouding their once-proud expressions. After all, having just awakened this power, the idea of losing it was deeply unsettling.
"There are ways," Yue replied calmly, "more than one, in fact."
"The first," he said, his tone turning dark, "is to take the Mangekyō of a blood sibling, transplant it, and awaken the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan—a perfected form with no risk of blindness."
"But that's assuming you're willing to sacrifice a brother or sister. I doubt any of you are."
The three Uchiha fell silent, their earlier confidence shaken.
"As for the second method," Yue said, a faint smile forming, "it is the secret art of my own master—a special transformation technique unique to me. It can preserve Mangekyō without blood sacrifice."
Then, leaning back with deliberate mischief in his gaze, he concluded, "But why would I share such a precious technique with you for free?"
His words struck like a sudden genjutsu. The three shinobi stared in stunned silence, their faces frozen between hope and despair.
