Chapter 84 - Chapter 84: World Rank – Myth-Class: Demonic Ascension

[Welcome to: WORLD 84 – DEMONIC ASCENSION]

[World Rank: Myth-Class – Catastrophic Threat Level]

[World Objective: Survive the Seven Sin Lords & Claim the Throne of Damnation]

[Rule Mutation: "Everything you sacrifice returns tenfold—or takes tenfold."]

[Special Modifier: Soul Corruption Active. Your decisions will shape your demon form.]

The sky was a bleeding storm, thick with crimson clouds and ash. Infernal towers rose from cursed soil, spewing black fire. The smell of sulfur, burnt flesh, and despair coated the wind.

Lian opened his eyes. His squad had reformed—but everyone looked… changed.

Their souls had weight, and now in this world, that weight reshaped them.

Jayce stood beside Lian, laughing as ever—but his shadow stretched too long, curling like a trickster serpent. His golden ice cream truck had become an Apocalypse Carnival, blasting infernal music and shooting cannon-sized waffle cones at demons.

"Bro, I think I became the Sin of Laughter. I made like six demon generals laugh themselves into cardiac arrest. Wanna see me ride a flying pie into a volcano?"

Lian smirked, but behind his eyes—the burden of judgment lingered.

Ria knelt in the center of a burning cathedral. Her skin glowed with runes of Wrath and Mercy, dancing across her arms as her halo flickered between crimson and blue flame.

She had judged an entire demon city. Left only silence.

But each time she did… her eye grew dimmer.

"I'm losing pieces of myself," she whispered. "Every soul I end, I absorb part of its pain. If I go too far…"

"We won't let you fall," Kuro said, limping forward with a new weapon—a giant demon spine fused to his arm. He hadn't spoken much lately. But when he did, everyone listened.

[Sin Lords Detected: Sloth, Greed, Wrath, Lust, Pride, Gluttony, Envy]

[They are aware of your presence.]

[They fear your potential to replace them.]

Their first opponent came not with fire, but temptation.

Sin Lord Greed appeared as a fallen angel, cloaked in obsidian feathers, promising power.

"I offer you control of an entire province," he whispered, his voice dripping gold, "Just sacrifice one companion's soul. You choose who."

No one moved.

Then Greed smiled. "Fine. I'll choose for you."

He snapped.

One of the 100—Aya, a healer with a laughter-filled soul—exploded into coins and fell to her knees, screaming.

[Aya is now soul-bound to Sin Lord Greed.]

[Her existence is now an economy of pain.]

Jayce snapped next.

He didn't laugh this time.

He leapt from the truck, dodged six gold spears, and slammed a Joke Bomb into Greed's chest.

"What's golden, ugly, and about to eat humble pie?"

Boom.

"You."

But Greed didn't die.

He split into seven versions of himself, each representing a different currency of the soul—Love, Time, Memory, Regret, Blood, Power, and Identity.

The battle became a war of temptation.

Each time they destroyed a form, Greed tried to bribe them again.

Kuro was offered his lost family.

Ria was promised final peace.

Jayce was offered… a world where no one cried anymore.

Lian? He was offered this:

[Sacrifice everyone. Become the System.]

[Rule all worlds. No more games. Just peace.]

Lian said nothing.

He stabbed Greed's final form through the mouth.

[Greed: Annihilated]

[Soul Fragment Acquired – "Throne of Want"]

[Corruption Resistance +3%]

[Balance Offset: Your next battle will lack moral clarity.]

As the demon lord died, the world trembled. The other Sin Lords turned their gaze.

Lust, Pride, Wrath… and Sloth, hidden behind all.

They knew now:

This party could kill gods.

But at what cost?
