Instantly, the atmosphere in the room fell silent as soon as Ms. Khaya mentioned it. An expression of worry, tension, and fear instantly crossed everyone's face in the room, as well as Shaan's.
"But, calm down. So far, blood moon gates rarely appear in this world," Miss Khaya explained as she opened the blue folder in her hand. "The last blood moon gate appeared about 17 years ago and the monster that appeared was some kind of huge sea serpent that managed to get out of the portal and wipe out half of the small islands, but fortunately it was defeated by the combined efforts of several powerful Daemonists from around the world, so the portal was destroyed."
'Yes, I've also read articles that the snake killed a lot of humans. Even a world-class Daemonist almost died while fighting the creature, but fortunately was defeated,' Shaan heaved a long sigh. 'Damn. I don't know if that thing is still alive; I might never have been born into this world.'
"Alright, I'll continue explaining the Midnight gate," Miss Khaya pointed to the next slide. "When you pass through the Midnight gate, you will be in a mysterious location called the Dark Realm. The Dark realm itself is similar to our world, but it is inhabited by terrible creatures from the world of darkness."
"Miss Khaya, I have something to ask," said a green-haired man, slowly raising his hand. "I still don't understand how the Midnight gate works and how long the Midnight gate is open. Does the Midnight Gate open every day at midnight?
"That's a pretty good question." Miss Khaya smiled. "As the name implies, the Midnight gate will open at midnight and can only be passed through by people who have gained the power of the seven virtue serum. Inside the portal, various dark creatures are trying to get out of the Midnight Gate. Therefore, Daemonists must defeat the boss inside the portal to close the portal. As long as the boss has not been defeated, the portal will continue to open and may threaten human safety in this world," Miss Khaya explained. "However, this does not mean that this portal will continue to appear every day at midnight. No one can predict when the Midnight Gate portal will appear, but within a week, it will certainly appear in a random location that is completely unpredictable."
'All right, Miss Khaya. I have recorded everything you said in my notebook," said the green-haired man, putting the notebook in his pocket."
"Good. Is there any other question?" Miss Khaya cast her eyes around. "If not, I suggest that you learn about the wildest survival methods in the dark realm. It is an important thing to learn, and just ask your respective mentors. They will be more than happy to help you."
''Wildest survival methods in the dark realm?' Shaan instantly furrowed his brow. 'Hmm... will probably ask Mr. Maximus about that.'
"That brings us to the end of the introductory session on Midnight Gate. I hope you found the information useful and will keep it in mind moving forward. Thank you for your time and attention."
Clapping sounds filled the room as Miss Khaya stepped down from the stage, indicating that the session on the Midnight Gate discussion was over. Mr. Luis then directed all participants to leave the hall to continue the training session with their respective mentors.
Shaan quickly ran to the training room, and it turned out that Mr. Maximus was already at the entrance of the training room. Wearing a white shirt, black shorts, and a pair of white sneakers. He was seen doing a light warm-up before starting today's training.
"Oh, hello Shaan. Now, warm up first before we start today's training session."
"Alright, Mr. Maximus."
After a few minutes of light warm-up, Mr. Maximus then told Shaan to do some weight-lifting exercises. This was intended to build up the strength in Shaan's arms and back, which was essential for him to be able to swing his dual swords well.
"Ah...finally." Shaan sighed and dropped the weights to the side.
"Well done, Shaan." Mr. Maximus nodded his head, noticing Shaan had completed the weightlifting set. "Alright, I'll give you a break to-"
'Knock! Knock! Knock'
"Who is it?" Asked Mr. Maximus, walking towards the door.
"Mr. Maximus, the chairman would like to meet with all the Daemonist mentors as he has something important to say," the officer outside the door spoke. "The chairman has been waiting for you in his room in the Prometheon Tech building."
"Ah... alright. I'll be right there." Mr. Maximus replied to the officer. "Shaan, I think today's training session will continue tomorrow. There are important matters the chairman wants to discuss with us, Daemonist mentors."
"Alright, I understand."
"So, is there anything you want to ask?"
"Uh... there's something I want to ask about what Miss Khaya said earlier." Shaan wiped the sweat from his forehead. "She said that all amateur Daemonists should learn about the wildest survival methods in the dark realm. Do you know about that?"
"Yes, of course. The wildest way of survival in the dark realm is indeed a must-learn. It's something that talks about what you should do if you suddenly get lost or separated in the dark realm. From how to make fire, choosing the right plants to consume, safe hiding locations from creatures of darkness, and many more. There used to be a special session on this kind of thing, but it seems that many people are less interested and more focused on practicing their respective powers, so that session was discontinued."
"So, where can I get information about it?"
"Don't worry, even though the session has been canceled, you can still get all the information about it in the reading room," said Mr. Maximus. "Just tell the staff that you want to read a book about the wildest survival methods in the dark realm, and they'll take you straight there."
"Very well, Mr. Maximus. I understand."
"Everything you asked about how to survive in the wildest, darkest realm is listed in detail there. I guarantee that as long as you read it, your head will feel hot. I can guarantee it. "Mr. Maximus laughed outright. "Well, good luck, Shaan." Mr. Maximus walked out of the room.
"Wait, Mr. Maximus." Shaan ran out of the room. "I have absolutely no idea where..."
Shaan could only stand in silence as he realized that Mr. Maximus had already vanished from sight. It had only been a matter of minutes since they both left the training room, so logically, Mr. Maximus should still be somewhere along this long corridor. Strange—how could he have moved so fast?
'Never mind, rather than me arguing about something like this, I should ask one of the officers around here. They might be able to help me find the whereabouts of the reading room that Mr. Maximus said.'
