Chapter 124 - Chapter 124: Ghost Protocol

The rooftop cracked under Sigma's sheer force as he launched at Hana with inhuman speed. She barely managed to sidestep, her tactical blade grazing his arm. Sparks erupted—not blood, but fiber-reinforced synthetic tissue. Her worst fear confirmed: this wasn't just augmentation. It was full integration. A living weapon.

He pivoted midair, rebounding off the concrete wall and lunging again. Hana threw a flash emitter and rolled backward, temporarily blinding him. Her headset buzzed with Mika's frantic voice.

"That's not a normal synthetic. His neural signal's erratic—he's being remote-controlled!"

Down below, Kai stood in the shadows of a neighboring tower, watching through Sigma's eyes. His pulse was steady, but a flicker of hesitation crossed his expression. Not from fear—something more complex.

Back on the rooftop, Hana activated her neural jammer, a risky tool designed to break remote control signals. Sigma jerked mid-stride, his body spasming as if glitching in real time. He stopped.

For a moment, the rooftop was silent except for the falling rain.

"Who are you?" Hana demanded.

The boy's eyes flickered—blue to brown. "Help... me," he whispered.

Then his neck snapped backward as Kai terminated the signal.

Far underground, Kai stared at the blank screen. The connection severed.

He turned to Dr. Ardana. "Too unstable."

Ardana adjusted his glasses nervously. "He was resisting. Something in his memory survived the wipe."

Kai's voice was low. "Make sure the next one doesn't."

Meanwhile, Hana stood over the unconscious Sigma unit, rain washing away bloodless scrapes. This wasn't just cyber warfare anymore—it was personal.

Her earpiece crackled.

"Hana, new intel. They're moving the next prototype... to Seoul."

She looked down at Sigma.

"You're coming with me."
