"Why the feud?" Gina asked Valerie as they walked upstairs to the bathroom to reapply their makeup, her curiosity getting the better of her.
"It's complicated," Valerie said, expertly applying her lip gloss. "Daniel was once Mark's good friend till he started working for Robin."
Gina's brow furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean? I thought they were cousins?"
Valerie's eyes sparkled with a hint of drama. "Yes, they are, but there's a little twist…okay, let me explain the whole family dynamic to you." She straightened up, placing her arm on her waist. "Robin is Albert and Lillian's son, while Daniel is Eva's son. Eva, in the picture, is Albert's side chick, and Grandpa hates that a lot."
Gina's eyes widened as the family web unfolded before her. "So, Robin and Daniel are half-cousins, but there's bad blood between them because of their parents' affair?"
