As soon as Audrey climbed into the car, she stripped off her outerwear and began frantically scratching her skin.
William quickly grabbed her hand. "Don't scratch—it'll just make it worse."
"Where's the antidote?" she demanded through clenched teeth.
William remained silent.
Audrey's anger flared. She nearly fainted. "You made this kind of stuff, and you didn't even bring an antidote? What if it had backfired on you?"
Still, William didn't answer. He wasn't foolish—he knew exactly what the substance was and would never allow it near his own skin.
Audrey was itching so badly she had to dig her nails into the seat cushion just to stay sane.
