Hailey's hospitalization cost a fortune.
"How much do you need?" Thomas inquired.
"One million dollars!" Ashley declared.
"One million?" Thomas's face turned red with anger. "Does your family truly need a million dollars in a month?"
"Why not?" Ashley retorted, presenting a detailed list of expenses, some of which Thomas hadn't even considered. The total exceeded $1.3 million.
"Look at this. Our large family requires funds for everything—from food and clothing to housing. Where can we possibly cut costs?"
"I don't have that much money. I can offer you at most $200,000. Be frugal. Once the new energy car project launches, our financial situation will improve."
Ashley was dissatisfied. "You just promised Natalie five million. Can't you allocate one million from that? If she has one million less, she can buy fewer houses. But if our family lacks a million, we might not even afford food next month!"
