Chapter 48 - CHAPTER 18 - Fatal Error

CHAPTER 18 - Fatal Error

The legendary demons and Monderfol celebrate their victory by drinking alcohol and feasting at a large table. Can alcohol affect creatures with such unique bodies? Yes, because it's not ordinary alcohol—it's so potent that a single drop could intoxicate any human. They drink with the intent of getting drunk, risking their ability to fight at full strength if ambushed, which shows how little they're worried about Daniel. They're confident they can defeat him.

The hall is filled with laughter, music, and jubilation. Glasses clink, bottles empty, and plates pile high. Almost everyone is drunk and happy, except for the demon girl who raped Daniel. She can't forget what she did to him and thinks obsessively, over and over: "I want to do it again with him!" Yes, she's crazy—pretty obvious—but most demons are like this because their emotions are amplified. For example, if someone accidentally bumps into them, they'd react as if they'd been punched in the face and told to rot. Her "love" has turned into obsession. The saddest part? Nadia feels no love for Daniel, not even a little, because even a small spark of love would've grown significantly.

She bites her lip and clutches her left breast, recalling the sensations the young human stirred in her. She pinches her nipple with her fingers, remembering the night she lost her precious virginity.

"Daniel…"

She savors her lips.

"I want your soul already."

"Capturing Daniel's companions was a brilliant idea!" Droi shouts, his voice hoarse and powerful.

"Nadia, that was very clever of you. Worthy of a high-class demon. You came up with a great plan," says the Demon King, drunk, clapping, though Nadia doesn't hear him because she's not at the party. She's in the dungeon, watching over Daniel's companions.

"Hey, idiot, she's not here. Besides, great idea? It was the most obvious thing to do," someone says.

"Hic… I see."

How did they capture Daniel's companions? Embarrassingly easy.

Hours earlier.

Nadia and the legendary demons were floating in the air above the clouds. This was after losing sight of Daniel, who had escaped them thanks to the vast power gap between them.

The sky was painted red by the dawn, and the air was cold and damp. The demons were worried and confused. They couldn't understand how he'd escaped so easily. Was the power difference that great?

They exchanged glances, searching for a solution… Well, almost all of them.

Norly descended to the ground, tore off all her clothes, sat down, leaned against a tree, and began masturbating. Witnessing Daniel's immense power made her feel inferior to him. Does she like being dominated? No, quite the opposite—she loves to dominate. That's why she got aroused seeing this, as it reminded her that she had raped that powerful boy, claiming him completely without him being able to stop her. She dominated such a mighty creature.

Norly, the Succubus. Former nickname: "The Virgin Bitch." Updated: "The Bitch."

"Tsk. Hate to admit it, but with such a power gap, it's impossible to catch up to him," says Francis.

"And Daniel's not the only threat we might face in the north. A mid-class demon was defeated by Sandro, one of the world's most famous adventurers. I should've killed him when I had the chance," says Nadia.

"And we can't ignore that angel girl. She may be weak, but she's still an angel and knows our weaknesses," says Zoe.

"Killing her would backfire—her power would be absorbed by Daniel, making him an even tougher target. And capturing her is pointless; Daniel can summon her whenever he wants," says Droi.

"Wait… Maybe… Yes, that could work. After all, he's like that old woman. I have an idea. My son is very, very, excessively good, raised by a boring old lady who hated curse words. If we capture his companions, he'll come to rescue them, even if it costs him his life 100%. Daniel didn't dare kill me; he doesn't have the guts to kill someone connected to him, and he won't let anyone important to him die."

"You're right. He was willing to sacrifice himself for a mere familiar, and there was no lie in his words. If he'd do that for someone he barely knows, he'll definitely do the same for the others. He cares about them a lot; he won't leave them in our hands," says Zoe.

"Tsk. You're ignoring the main problem, morons. How do we kidnap Daniel's companions if he's with them? He's already realized he's stronger than us. Right now, he's probably planning something to defeat us, and as much as it pains me to say, he's a chosen one—he's capable of it," says Francis.

"I don't think Daniel knows how to get back to Soular. He doesn't know the way; he flew east," says Droi.

"Plus, he doesn't have enough magical energy to make it; he'll need to rest. I highly doubt my son would regain magical energy the way people in this world do. His grandma was one of those religious old ladies who despised sex outside marriage, and my poor, weak-minded son must've fallen for her manipulation," says Nadia.

"You seem to know him pretty well despite barely knowing him," says Zoe.

"I know his grandma. He has her same look, same eyes… Same nauseating sense of goodness."

Demons are more sensitive to emotions, which is why Nadia offered her neck to Daniel—she knew he wouldn't do it because she could feel he loved her, even if he didn't admit it.

"Yeah, that's enough for me. I don't have genitals; I can't gather magical energy," says Zoe.

"My body belongs only to my perfect husband," says Nadia.

"My body belongs only to Daniel!! Don't worry, mother-in-law, I'll be faithful to your son!!" Norly shouts from below.

"Mother-in-law? Well, well. I don't blame her; my son may be a coward, but he's very handsome. Paternal inheritance, of course."

"Well, I'll gather magical energy," says Droi.

"Fufu. This is the fun part of the job," says Francis.

Henrietta, who had been silent, listening to the conversation, grinned ear to ear while pointing at a small village in the distance—or rather, a hamlet with no more than 100 inhabitants.

Children played together in an atmosphere of peace and joy, and seeing that only made Henrietta smile wider.

"Gather the kids under 10 in the center for the spell and rape the rest," says Henrietta.

World 1, one of the wildest and most dangerous worlds.

Method number 1 for gaining magical energy: Pleasure.

In other worlds, magical energy can be restored through pleasure, like sex, as long as both parties enjoy it and it's consensual.

But in this world, that rule is broken. What does that mean? You can gain magical energy by raping someone.

Which means…

"Noooo!!"

"Stop, please…!! Hmmmph!!"

"Nmmmphooo!!"

Daniel has only seen the tip of the iceberg of this world's dangers.

The real world isn't like light novels or anime. Demons will kill and harm humans with the cruelest methods possible.

No taking slaves, no mercy, no limits.

If a demon wants to rape, they'll rape.

If a demon wants to eat humans, they'll eat them.

If a demon wants to experiment on them, they'll experiment.

All without any moral boundaries.

Not everything will always turn out fine, and Daniel won't always be able to protect the innocent.

In less than 10 minutes, the village's men and women were raped by Droi and Francis, while the heads of children under 10 rolled on the ground, their blood used to bathe Henrietta, the Fairy-Vampire.

The place was a wreck. Where there was once laughter and peace, now it's total hell.

Bleeding crotches, ruined backsides, slit throats, humans disfigured by beatings. So much damage in under 10 minutes.

Nadia, Zoe, and Norly watched the scene, bored and waiting for it to end. They were used to this kind of situation, so it didn't interest them—not even Norly, the Succubus. The only thing that bothered Nadia was that they were also raping the men.

"This'll be enough to go and come back," says Henrietta, shaking blood-soaked hair.

"Then let's move," says Droi.

"Wait, I'm about to finish!" says Francis, penetrating… a man over 90 years old.

"Ugh," says Nadia.

"You should get used to it. For demons like us, humans are just sacks of meat, so we don't care what's between their legs or how they look, as long as they suffer," says Zoe, reading a book.

"So cliché."

"But it's reality. That's how the Supreme God designed us. Don't worry, mother-in-law, Daniel has a perfect soul, so different from humans! He shouldn't even be human. His soul is like a God's. It's a waste that he's human," says Norly.

"Whatever, let's not waste more time. Let's go."

"I said I'm almost done!"

Zoe closed her book and stomped the ground.

A massive earthen sword shot up from the ground and sliced off Francis's member, who immediately screamed in pain.

Human, demon, God—it doesn't matter. That kind of damage to one of the body's most sacred spots hurts anyone.

"You damn bitch!!!"

"Shut up and let's go."

"Tsk."

His member regenerated, and he nodded reluctantly.

"Fine, let's go."

Zoe, the second most powerful of the legendary demons, just behind Henrietta.

The legendary demons and Nadia flew off at full speed, leaving a trail of red—or rather, human remains and blood—behind them. And yes, they were right: Daniel didn't know how to get back and got lost.

After flying for hours, Nadia and the legendary demons spot all of Daniel's companions except Rose, who was elsewhere, busy organizing the humans' attack on the demons.

They were outside the castle with other adventurers, preparing to go search for Daniel. They were worried about him and wanted to save him from the demons. They carried weapons, armor, and supplies, ready for a long journey.

A journey that would have to be canceled.

"Getting ready, huh? How cute," says Norly.

"This has dragged on too long. Let's end it," says Henrietta.

The demons head toward them. The girls see them and panic, except Daniela, who smiles slightly, realizing Daniel escaped them—why else would they be here? But her smile fades, and her expression hardens as a battle is about to begin.

"Watch out! Celestial Bow!" Daniela, the angel girl, shouts.

Daniela starts firing arrows of light, one after another, with incredible precision. But the demons dodge them easily with supernatural agility. It's a fact: angels are inferior to demons. Demons have more strength, endurance, and magic than angels. Angels only have more beauty and kindness, which doesn't help much in battle.

The reason? Angels were designed to be servants, not warriors, unlike demons, who were made to cause suffering.

"Didn't you learn your lesson?!" Norly shouts, her voice full of rage and contempt.

She hates angels, especially Daniela, whom she sees as a rival for Daniel's love. She wants to see her suffer for daring to kiss her Daniel.

Norly flies straight at Daniela, dodging arrows with a malicious grin. In her right hand, she wields a flaming sword burning with infernal fire.

"The demons…!" Norly shouts, preparing to strike.

Daniela keeps firing arrows, but with less confidence as she fails to land a single hit.

Norly dodges the arrows and gets too close to Daniela. She wanted to decapitate her but remembered it was forbidden, so she only punches her in the stomach with immense force. The blow is so powerful it knocks the air out of her, and blood spurts from her mouth. Daniela feels unbearable pain and doubles over.

"…are stronger than angels!" Norly shouts, her voice triumphant and cruel. She mocks Daniela, looking at her with disdain, feeling superior and wanting to humiliate her further, but the fun doesn't last.

Daniela collapses unconscious, her face twisted in pain and defeat. Her bow breaks, and her arrows scatter.

"Ugh, how disappointing… Mmm… Ugh…"

Norly glares disdainfully at the other adventurers, who freeze in fear.

The adventurers accompanying Daniel's companions flee in terror without looking back. Pathetic but understandable. They're no match for the demons, who, though not outnumbering them, far surpass them in power. Demons are centuries-old beings with accumulated experience, knowledge, and unique skills and spells. Adventurers are mere mortals who've lived a few decades. There's no comparison.

"Pfft. Whatever," Norly says, smirking.

"Give Daniel back!" Rem shouts, full of rage.

"I figured he hasn't returned," Nadia says, her voice mocking.

"Huh? H-He hasn't returned?" Cris says, his voice trembling.

Despite being a mere human with no magic, he bravely approaches the demons to try to get information.

"He escaped?!" Cris asks, ignoring his fear.

"And who are you, four-eyes?" Nadia says.

"Me…? Uh… Oh…"

He realizes the stupidity of what he just did. His earlier "bravery" came from the shock of hearing Daniel escaped a group of demons with "legendary" in their name, making him briefly forget the danger he was in.

"I-I'm just a friend of Daniel. Heh," he says, trembling with fear.

"You're pretty sharp, kid. Of course he escaped. But you won't!" Francis roars.

The demons extend their right hands and chant a magic word.

"Gres fer me!" the demons say in unison.

Suddenly, the ground cracks, and Zoriens emerge from the fissures.

"Attack them, but don't kill them," Nadia orders, her voice cold.

"Don't just stand there, idiot!" Sonia says, yanking Cris by the arm.

They try to escape, but Zoriens catch them, wrapping their arms around them and squeezing tightly. Cris and Sonia feel their breath cut off and their bones breaking.

"Help!" Cris shouts, his voice desperate.

He looks around for an escape but finds none. He only sees the demons, smirking with assured victory. Even Zoe has the luxury of reading.

"Help me!" Sonia shouts, her voice anguished.

She looks to Rem, hoping she'll save her, but she can't. Rem is busy fighting the Zoriens heading toward her.

"Wind akaso!" Rem shouts, her voice firm.

She casts a spell to create a gust of wind, knocking down the approaching Zoriens, but it's not enough to stop them.

No one can put up a fight—absolutely no one. One by one, they're defeated and captured.

"The demons are too strong!" Rem says, her voice exhausted.

She looks to the sky, hoping someone will come, hoping he will come, her hero. Sadly, miracles don't always happen… or at least not in the way you expect.

The adventurers return with reinforcements. They realized fleeing wasn't an option—they had to face the demons because they'd die anyway if the demons won. Dying in battle is more satisfying. Giving their lives to buy time for Daniel to arrive and defeat them is one of the best deaths they could have. Too bad Daniel is far away and can't possibly make it.

"Filthy demons, leave those girls alone!" one adventurer shouts, his voice brave and fearless, making Zoe smile.

"Well, well, well. This generation isn't as cowardly as the last."

"A bit of extra fun, huh?" says Henrietta.

The adventurers charge at the demons, ready to fight. They fire arrows, fireballs, and rocks, hoping to do even a little damage or at least a scratch. But their attacks are useless. The demons don't even bother dodging, taking the hits directly because the attacks are so weak and insignificant that it's not worth the effort.

"Brave but weak. What a shitty combo," says Henrietta.

"They called us 'filthy'?" says Nadia.

She brushes dust off her clothes and glares at the adventurers with contempt.

"How rude. I bathed today," she says sarcastically.

"I'd bathe, but I don't want Daniel's scent to leave my body. Congrats, mother-in-law, you crafted him perfectly in your womb!" Norly says, patting Nadia's back.

She sighs and crosses her arms.

"Whatever."

"Let's teach them a lesson. That adventurer's got no manners."

"No, our target is Daniel's companions," Zoe says firmly.

She didn't want to waste time on unnecessary fights. Their mission was clear: kidnap Daniel's companions and use them as bait to lure him into a trap. Wasting time would only jeopardize the mission. Daniel is a chosen one with the power to challenge them, and the demons know full well the threat he poses.

Norly runs toward Daniel's grandma, who's subdued by Zoriens.

"Right, they're our only target!" Norly shouts, slamming her right fist into the grandma's face.

She has no time to react and collapses unconscious, a trickle of blood dripping from her mouth.

"She's right!" Francis shouts, following Norly's lead.

He lunges at Sara, grabbing her by the throat and lifting her into the air as she writhes and kicks.

The adventurers who came to protect Daniel's companions freeze in terror. They can't believe what they're seeing—an angel and Daniel's companions defeated by demons.

They react late but react. They fire arrows, fireballs, and rocks at the demons, hoping to stop or at least distract them. But their attacks are futile. Arrows snap against the demons' skin, fireballs dissipate on contact, and rocks crumble upon impact.

"That's it? Pfft. How weak," Droi mocks.

He glares at the trembling adventurers with disdain. They're like ants to him—insignificant and powerless.

After a short fight lasting just a minute, Nadia and the legendary demons defeat the adventurers and capture Daniel's companions. They leave them sprawled on the ground, wounded and humiliated. Some are dead, others have lost limbs, and some have gone mad from the horror.

A complete, humiliating defeat. The only reason most were left alive was because killing them would be too easy, and leaving them crippled is far more satisfying.

(Present.)

"We captured Daniel's companions without a hitch!" Droi shouts.

"They didn't even scratch us!" Francis says with a wicked grin.

"Now we just wait for Daniel to try to rescue them!" says Monderfol.

Monderfol spreads his wings and floats in the air. He looks at his subordinates with a serious, authoritative expression, perfectly hiding his drunkenness.

"Listen, stay alert! Daniel is undoubtedly powerful. Do not lower your guard or get cocky! Attack him from a distance; his sword is very powerful!"

"Blah, blah, blah. We know, idiot!" says Henrietta.

The demons toast again, and Monderfol sits back down.

"And if plans A and B fail? We'll have to use C," says Zoe.

"No way to C! Plans A and B will definitely work!" says Norly.

"Killing him would make the other chosen ones stronger, but it's the only option we'd have left," says Monderfol.

Meanwhile, the Supreme God watches them, savoring his lollipop.

"Gather energy during the fight, kidnap him to drain his energy, or kill him to steal his body and soul. Three options, huh? I wonder which one will awaken him."

He gives his lollipop one last lick and crunches it with his teeth.

"Though I highly doubt Daniel will die at the start," he says, smiling.

(Pov - Daniel.)

According to Treis, it'll take a week to reach King Finder's kingdom. It could take longer, considering we're traveling with an army of over 100,000 demi-humans. We also have to account for nightly rests so the soldiers can recover their strength and heal their wounds. Demons aren't the only dangers in this world—there are hundreds of monsters, and the most dangerous, S-rank monsters, are highly attracted to crowds. Today alone, I had to kill over 50 S-rank monsters, and S-ranks are supposed to be some of the rarest creatures to encounter!

Dozens of adventurers died today from monster attacks, but at least I revived them… though that came with severe consequences.

Each death costs me a ton of magical energy to revive them, which limits me greatly and puts me at a huge disadvantage if the legendary demons decide to attack.

Rests, tough paths, fights… It's all slowing us down.

If we keep taking this long, my grandma and the others could suffer more harm.

"I really can't do that," I murmur to myself, flying over the makeshift camp we've set up.

It's nighttime, and everyone's resting. Some sleep in tents, others on the ground wrapped in blankets, and some are training, preparing for tomorrow. I'm flying above them, using my angel wings to give them hope—they need it badly. Boosting morale is always good in an army, or so I've read.

I watch them with a mix of admiration and frustration. Admiration because none have deserted and are still willing to push forward, even those who died. But I'm also frustrated because if we take too long, my grandma's chances of survival shrink.

"We can't waste time, but I know they need to rest… Damn it…"

I clench my fists, feeling the helplessness wash over me. In my mind, I toy with the idea of going alone and killing the demons myself, but I know that's a terrible idea. I'm not as powerful as I used to be. And if I want to use that spell, I need to rescue them first.

"I'm weaker now… I really can't defeat the demons alone… Ugh, if only there were a teleportation spell."

That way, I could appear in front of my grandma or Daniela and take them with me. I wish I had something like that, but that would be… too convenient…

Wait… A teleportation spell…? Teleportation… That exists; God used it on me. Could there be a similar spell? Summoning a familiar is kind of like it… Maybe…

Suddenly, my face lights up, and I smile. A brilliant idea hits me. It's silly, but to me, it's a great idea.

I mean, there are a few things that support the theory of teleportation magic existing.

Dex's summoning, the familiars, and God's teleportation…

Ugh… That's not much, but faith is the last thing to die!

I have the ability to cast spells just by saying magic words—I can use that.

Plus, teleportation is super common in fantasy stories, though they usually use platforms with magic seals and stuff… Ugh…

Come on, Daniel! Hope is the last thing to die! Don't sigh in defeat—try it!

"I can say random words and hope one's a teleportation spell!"

I laugh. What I just said is ridiculous. I'm an idiot; it won't work… Or maybe it could… No… Could it…? Should I try…?

I sigh, undecided. I guess I can try… I know it might be a waste of time, but I don't have many options. It might be my only shot to reach the Demon King's castle without being detected. If they see me, they'd have no reason to keep my grandma and companions alive. If I want to rescue them alive, I have to do it unseen.

"I've got nothing to lose by trying," I tell myself, trying to convince myself.

Just have faith, Daniel… Just faith… Like you've done so far.

I extend my right hand.

"Teleportation! Teleportation despo! Teleportation dispo! Teleportation dex! Teleportation munfe! Teleportation flope! Tele…"

"Huh…? What?!"

S-Suddenly, a black portal opens in front of me. A dark hole… Did it work?! Did this ridiculous idea work?!

I-I feel like I lost a ton of magical energy, like I revived someone. I'm exhausted.

"Did it work…? It worked!" I shout, incredulous.

I can't believe what I'm seeing, what I've done. I created a magic portal without knowing how… Miracles exist!! Thank you, God!!

"This ridiculous idea worked! Incredible!" I shout, excited.

Without thinking twice, I dive into the portal, hoping it takes me where I want to go. I want to appear in front of my grandma or Daniela!

"This ridiculous idea worked! Incredible!" I repeat as I pass through the portal.

I feel a strange sensation, like I'm moving at high speed. My body feels heavy, like it's being compressed.

I appear in some kind of cave, and the portal closes behind me. The cave is mysteriously lit—no lamps, torches, or bulbs, just a dim light seeming to come from the walls. The cave is massive, like a giant slept here. There are stalactites, stalagmites, large rocks, crystals, symbols, and drawings on the walls. So… eerie.

Am I in a dungeon, or is this the demons' home? It looks so empty.

"Huh? Where am I?"

I look around for an exit. Will I have to walk far to get out?

It's my first time in a place like this. Mmm… It smells weird, like salt and vinegar… Sulfur?

"Hello."

"Uwaaah!"

An old man appeared out of nowhere in front of me! My heart! I feel like I'm about to have a heart attack! Arghhh!

T-The old man wears a hooded black robe covering his entire body and part of his face. I can only see his eyes—red eyes staring at me intensely. Eyes that send a shiver down my spine.

I-I've gotta admit, I'm scared. I don't know who this old man is. I don't know if he's a friend or foe. I don't know if he's human, demon, or even a god. Is he the Demon King or some powerful demon?!

I back away immediately. I won't let my guard down!

"Welcome," the old man says, his voice deep and grave.

H-His tone is ominous, like he's pronouncing a sentence. It's scary, really scary. My heart races faster.

He seems like a demon, one of the most powerful ones, the kind that humiliates you without you being able to do anything about it. I'm really scared, but I won't lower my guard. My grandma depends on me; I won't fail her!

"Who are you…?! Uwaaah!"

I fall to the ground from the shock, losing my balance. M-My legs won't respond. No, this is the worst time for this to happen!

I crawl back, trying to put distance between us. I try to stand to prepare to fight, but I can't—I'm paralyzed with fear.

No, Daniel. Don't let fear consume you!

I hit my legs. Get up! Get up!!

I bite my arm hard until it bleeds to distract my mind with pain.

D-Did it work? I only did it out of desperation.

I slowly stand, the sound of blood dripping from my arm the only noise in this place.

"Answer!"

"Since it's your first time using the spell, I must warn you: you can only use it once every 90 days. You'll return to your world in 24 hours. You'll appear before your familiar, as it's your link to World 1."

Huh? I'm a bit confused; I don't think I understand what he's saying. What spell?! What's going on?!

D-Did I use a different teleportation spell than the one I imagined? Is he not a demon?

"Huh? What?" I ask, dazed.

"World 20 or World 30?" the old man asks, as if giving me a choice.

What's he trying to say? I honestly don't understand anything.

"World 20 or Wor…?"

"Alright. Teleportation to World 20!" the old man says, his voice firm and decisive.

Shit, I think I messed up! I chose by accident! It was a question, not a statement!

You're gonna teleport me to that world?! Nooo! Wait, wait, it's a misunderstanding!

"World 20?! No, wait, I want to go to my compa…!"

I try to protest, but it's too late. Everything around me starts spinning, like I'm on a roller coaster. The same feeling as when God teleports me! Nooo!

"Nooo, wait, please!!" I shout, desperate.

I'm an idiot! I screwed up! I ruined everything!

…Huh? W-What is this place?

The motion stops, and I appear out of nowhere in a classroom… I-It's a modern, high-tech classroom, identical to the ones in my world, even with air conditioning. I see the students—boys and girls who are… weird. Some look normal, but others have strange features. They have mutations like horns, wings, tails, scales, claws, antennae, eyes of different colors and sizes.

They don't look like demi-humans; their designs are more like… comic book mutants.

"W-What?"

"You have a teleportation power?! Awesome!" a girl says.

P-Power? Mutants… Oh no…

H-Huge classroom, students in uniforms, everything seems so… civilized… Please, let it not be what I think it is.

"Ugh… You screwed up, Daniel," God says in my head.

"Where am I?"

"Welcome to World 20, the world of superpowers and heroes. I won't say more; I can't help you further. You'll return to World 1 in 24 hours."

I'm an idiot; I completely screwed up!

"I'm a dumbass! Arghhh!"

(Volume 6 finished. I recommend A Romantic Comedy with a Ghost Girl. I also recommend I'm an Inferior Being with the Ability to Seduce Women, which is directly related to this novel.)
