Amos, reading a book, was sitting comfortably in a red armchair, soft and warm. He was in a cozy room, furnished with pieces you'd often only find in mountain cabins. Outside, snow was falling, turning the landscape gray and contrasting with the warm atmosphere of the room he was in.
A door leading into the room opened. Amos looked up and saw Yoan enter, an irritated look on his face, leaning his back forward.
"What's wrong with you?" Amos asked.
Yoan grunted before answering, showing his annoyance.
"I heard about the book contract rejection."
Amos was quite surprised to see Yoan in such a state—he was usually always calm.
Amos answered thoughtfully, taking the subject seriously without putting too much weight on his tone.
"It's not a big deal. Tons of books go through this before getting any recognition."
Yoan sighed, then straightened his back, knowing Amos was right. He regained his usual calm and thoughtful expression, not wanting to fail to be who he was.
"You're right. It just disgusts me. But you know what they say—it's the failures that help you rise higher."
Amos felt a sense of relief seeing the Yoan he was used to again. He relaxed his tone, not wanting to create a too formal tension in the room.
"Yeah, that's for sure."
Yoan approached Amos, sitting down in an armchair next to him. He glanced at Amos's book. He had never seen it before, which naturally piqued his curiosity since his general knowledge of the human world was very impressive.
"What are you reading?"
Amos was quite surprised by Yoan's question. He didn't expect such a direct question coming from him.
"It's The Beginning After the End, a really good isekai novel."
"I should probably read it too, with all the free time we have before the author gets back to work on the book in two months."
Amos replied, clearly invested in the discussion now, his tone rising and sounding more excited.
"I'm telling you, you won't regret it. Plus, I really like the first-person narration. It lets us get attached to the character and better understand his choices—even the most immoral and difficult ones."
"Maybe we should do the same with The Heir of the Void?"
Amos sank slightly into his chair, thinking about the idea.
"I don't really know… Plus, it sounds kinda cringe to have my thoughts narrate every moment and scene. Some people might like it, but with the style of the story, I think most would drop it."
Yoan replied, already having prepared an answer to an argument like that.
"I thought the same thing, but honestly the best way to know is just to let the readers comment their thoughts on the idea."
Amos let out a small laugh.
"I don't think so. They don't really like commenting under chapters or even leaving reviews."
Amos shot a small glance, raising an eyebrow at the camera.
Yoan crossed his arms, then took a deep breath and turned toward the camera as well.
"Well, it's up to you readers then to suggest your ideas and questions about the story."
"I'm sure the author would be happy to answer you, maybe even in a QnA chapter where we'd be reading it," Amos added.
Yoan turned to Amos, a thought crossing his mind.
"Isn't this a bit long for a bonus chapter?"
Amos turned toward the camera, his eyes widening in surprise as he realized Yoan was right.
"Crap, you're right. Plus, it must be annoying to read."
Amos rushed toward the camera, getting closer to the frame and completely blocking the background, then the screen faded to black.
