Chapter 39 - The ritual(8)

Looking at her bloody figure ren couldn't help but sigh...

'Life was never easy for her…'

She thought and With that she looked inside herself...

Just one more step.

She took a breath—long and trembling—and shut her eyes.

Thump.

Her heart echoed like thunder in her ears.

Thump-thump.

The mana storm raged within her chest, wild and unruly. But she ignored it.

She dived inward, letting her awareness sink past the pain, past the blood, past the chaos.

As she goes deeper in it, she can feel it.

At was like a ocean with no depth

But she didn't stop…

She kept moving…

Deeper

Deeper

And there—at the very core of her being—she saw it.

Curled up like a frightened child, was a pale white light.

Faint. Fragile. Flickering.

It was trembling.

It was scared.

It was scared.

It was…

Her soul.

It was delicate, barely visible, yet undeniably hers.

From its center stretched a single thread—thin and translucent, yet more real than flesh or bone.

She reached for it.

And everything began to break.

SHKKKK—

Her thoughts cracked like glass.

The moment her fingers brushed the thread, the world distorted.

Her mind screamed.

Pain slammed into her skull like a blade twisting sideways.

CRRRRRRRRK—!!

A screech echoed inside her head—like metal grinding against bone.

Blood spilled from her nose. Her ears. Her eyes.

Still, she held on.

She followed the thread.

The soul thread weaved through her body—through her heart, her lungs, her limbs, her ribs, her spine, her gut... It pulsed with her breath, her heartbeat, her pain. Straight, yet coiled.

Thick, yet thin.

It was everywhere.

Twisting.

Splitting.

Curling around every inch of her body.

It wasn't made to be touched.

And yet… she followed.

The deeper she followed, the more it consumed her.

Her thoughts blurred. Her mind screamed.

Her identity, her sense of self—it all started to unravel.
