Chapter 13 - 13.More demonic than demons.

Aria moved with the grace of a fairy, her hips moving in a rhythmic and hypnotic manner which attracted everyone's gaze. Teasing. Tantalizing. Traumatizing.

Yes traumatizing for the others who were trying their very best to just have a single peak of her ass but the chilling gaze of Daren that promised death refrained them from doing what their hearts desired.

Daren's eyes were fixed on Aria's ass like a predator looking at its prey. His eyes followed her every movement, every step, every inch as if he was devouring her completely just with his gaze alone. She was breathtakingly beautiful, to mortals she was nothing like a Goddess of beauty's incarnate.

Even as a sage her beauty is said to be second only to the Beast Empress Vulpeon who is said to be the most beautiful, alluring and seductive woman in the entire cultivation world.

Her charm was off the charts with countless admirers and even many fanatics making cults in her name.

Though Aria wasn't any less, she too had countless admirers and fanatics but there were no cults in her name... Or to be precise there used to be but they have been eradicated by the ever possessive and obsessive husband Daren the grim blade.

Daren was holding himself back from kidnapping Aria and taking her to some really secret place and showing her the heavens and stars in the broad daylight. Make her scream his name till her throat dries up and pussy floods like a broken dam.

But his will wasn't weak enough to break so easily, he'll wait for the right time and teach this little succubus a good lesson for teasing him.

While Daren was busy with his train of thoughts the gate of the inn opened with a soft chime of the bell. His attention snapped towards the door, there on the gate stood the branch master of the guild in their town. Daren has sensed him coming way before but he still played his role of an ordinary innkeeper without any mistakes.

[A/N:Owen- branch masters name.]

Owen approached the bar area where Daren was working, after finding a chair he sat there as if he wasn't here for anything special but just to drink.

"A jug of beer, please." Owen asked in a polite tone, trying his best not to be disrespectful towards this God like entity.

"Here." Daren passed him a jug of beer.

A sudden voice in his head startled Owen. He looked here and there but his gaze was drawn to Daren who was working at the bar counter as if he didn't know anything.

Daren spoke again to clarify Owen's doubt and fear, still maintaining his act.

Owen spoke using the connection between them, bowing his head a little while speaking to show his respects.

Though they have an Emperor for their Empire, everyone still treats the Sages of their respective Empire as the true Emperor as they hold more power and even the current Emperors do not dare to call themselves as such in the presence of a Sage.

Even an Emperor is nothing but a servant to Sage. And so no King or Emperor ever dares to claim that they are the true rulers of their Kingdom or Empire.

Daren's voice resounded in Owens' head bringing him back to the present situation. He immediately composed himself now behaving like he wasn't worshiping this person standing in front of him a second ago.

Though Daren was an easy going person and even told him to not act so respectfully and humble in front of him, Owen kept insisting that being his servant gives him joy and sense of fulfilment.

Daren questioned him despite knowing very well about the reason for his visit.

Owen's tone was grave as if there was another Empire involved in this matter, it would be really troublesome to deal with. It could be seen as a treason of the peace treaty signed by all the 5 Empires and could evoke a war easily if brought out in public.

And war is something that Owen would be least in favor of, as the humans are already weaker than other races in comparison of raw strength or talents.

Their only advantage is their numbers and that too was useless when compared to the demons, as they have almost caught up in numbers to humans.

The only reason why they could live a peaceful life right now is that they have 2 Sages, their Emperor Daren and the Empress Aria. They both have fought together with the other sages once in a lifetime and defeated them, and then they have proposed the peace treaty to other Empires.

Due to the treaty, all the Empires have been living a peaceful life for more than 5000 years. Each Empire was trying to thrive and they even expanded trade to other Empires, even the demon and dragon Empires.

Everyone has got accustomed to living a peaceful life and a war could break this peace easily, bringing back the chaos that once ruled this world.

Seeing Owen covered in cold sweat Daren could easily deduct what he was thinking, he smiled seeing this and spoke. < You don't need to worry, as long as we are here nothing will happen to the Empire and its people.>

Owen's tension eased at the Emperor's assured tone, but Daren's voice cut through the stillness like a serrated blade, unrelenting. "And even if war breaks out…" His lips twisted into a smile—a jagged, unholy thing, as if the void between stars had cracked open to bare its teeth. It was a grin that would have stilled the hearts of demons, a rictus of pure, feral anticipation. "…Let it come." The words dripped like venom, cold and honeyed. "The realms have grown too quiet. I miss the chorus of splintering shields, the lament of dying suns… and the sweet, shattering music of their bones beneath my boots." His eyes glinted, fathomless and fever-bright, his smile more demonic than demons.

His words sent a chill down Owens' spine, but he also felt reassured and confident that the Empire is safe until the Emperor and the Empress are here.
