Inside the middle ring of a city, a young man with jet black hair and eyes the same color as amethyst walks down the street as he approaches the local Adventurers Guild.
As he gets closer to it, he begins to hear boisterous laughter coming from inside. Arriving at the door the guards give him a quick look and let him through the gate. Nodding at the guards as he walks past the young man turns to the right after he enters the hall to get a look at the mission boards. As he walks up to the boards, the laughter and noise seem to die down until he can hear the whispered conversations scattered through the hall.
"i can't believe he's going inside again today, i heard someone yesterday say that he hasn't missed a day in 3 full years." someone says to his friends.
"3 years and he still hasn't unlocked his ability yet? Isn't it he a little useless? How did 2 S-class powerhouses give birth to a useless kid like him?" says someone in a mocking tone.
"Come on guys, have a little respect at least. From what i heard about what that guy can do with a sword, with or without an ability he would give most level 15's a hard time." says another person.
"Well ya, everyones knows that his family is supposed to be some ancient family that practiced with swords. Even amongst them his talent was considered prodigious. That doesn't do him much good though because you can't leave the lst floor of the tower until you are at least level 10 and you can't reach level 10 without unlocking your ability." says that same mocking voice.
"and how many of you can say that you would do what he has? How many of you would keep going into the tower day after day for 3 years in a row without giving up?" says a gruff voice from the back of the hall. Which seemed to silience the others that had something they wanted to say.
As the man in question acts like he can't hear what everyone is saying, he grabs three tasks from the board furthest from the door and approaches the counter to accept them.
"Excuse me, I'd like to accept these 3 F-Class missions for the first floor please." he says as he hands the tickets to the receptionist.
"Going inside again Damon? You know, the offer for you to tutor the younger generation is still open. Going into the Tower over and over again is dangerous without an ability." the receptionist says as she takes the tickets.
"Thank you for the offer, but again, our families arts cannot be taught to people that aren't directly linked to our family." Damon says to the receptionist as he inclines his head toward the woman.
"Alright Damon, just know that the offer is open if you ever change your mind." she says as she stamps the tickets and puts them to the side. "As you know, most Missions that get accepted must be completed within 24 hours and if they aren't, a fee will be deducted and a mark on your name will be put into the system. Exceptions to this are repeatable Missions like the ones you have taken and Missions that specify a different time limit. Good luck Damon.". After thanking the receptionist Damon starts his trip to the inner circle, ready to get back into the Tower.
As Damon gets to the door leading inside the Tower, he stops to check his "status"one more time.

"This is it, today is the day I'll pass this godforsaken floor and finally start climbing this tower" Damon says to himself as he unsheathes his sword and walks into the tower.
After he gets through the door, he looks around to see exactly where the tower dropped him this time. After seeing the mountains past the top of the trees he notices that look weird this time, almost backwards. Not seeing anything else that looks familiar, he starts walking towards them to complete one of the few missions he is qualified to accept from the adventurer's guild. Opening the task panel on his status screen, he checks to see how much of everything he needs to collect to complete his quests for today.
Task list:
{Collect 10 fangs and 5 rings from the kobold that dwell beneath the mountain.}
Reward: 20 copper for completion with a bonus of 1 copper per fang and 2 per ring.
{Collect the pelts from 5 forest wolves. Beware of large packs)
Reward: Depending on the condition of pelts.
{Harvest honey from one of the hives in the forest.)
Reward: Depending on the amount of honey gathered.
"The kobolds tend to stay in caves and tunnels, so I'll head that way and keep an eye out for any wolves and honey while I'm still in the forest."
Walking through and wondering just how big the first floor is, Damon ran across his first few wolves. Stopping and trying to see how many were in this particular pack, he counts 4 before one of the wolves look his way and growl. alerting the rest of the pack to Damons's presence. Swearing for not realizing they would smell him, Damon ready's his sword and starts to walk towards one of the larger trees in the area. After getting to the tree and putting his back toward it, he looks at the closest wolves as they walk toward him and uses Inspect on them.

Seeing that they were decent leveled he knew he would need to take them out as fast as possible, so he focused on the level 6 that was stalking further to his right and waited for it to move a little further from the other three before he made his move. As soon as it got a couple yards away from the pack, he made his move by lunging toward it as fast as he could and swinging his sword toward neck hoping to catch it off guard.
As he walks forward, he realizes that the usually lively forest feels darker somehow and is unusually silent. "Something is weird today, I should've run into something by now." he mutters under his breath. Almost as if it was waiting for him to say something, a giant monster jumps from the trees and lands in front of him, catching his shoulder with Its claws. As he gets his sword up and swings toward the beast, he inspects it and his stomach drops.
