Ten White Zetsu dropped from the sky, surrounding Yu at the center. Their right arms swung in long arcs, fists clenched with the weight of a thousand pounds as they smashed down!
Swish—
A perfect black arc spun through the air. Wherever the black blade, Dark Moon, passed, it left behind a trace of cold, silent sharpness.
The White Zetsu looked confused and stunned. In the next moment, their heads and fists were cleanly severed from their bodies—falling to the ground like rain.
Yu gracefully sheathed his blade.
He cast a sideways glance at the black sword.
Feeling the sensation of the strike—
The hilt of Dark Moon felt soft and refined to the touch. The blade was light, and slicing through the tough bodies of the White Zetsu felt as smooth as cutting through water—completely effortless.
And more than that…
It gave Yu a strange, overwhelming craving—as if the blade could contain energy, eagerly waiting for its master to fill it.
Yu stared at Dark Moon gripped in his right hand, then raised his left, forming the Tiger Seal, transforming his internal chakra into fire nature.
A scorching, blazing energy gathered from his entire chakra network, converging in his throat.
But Yu went against convention—redirecting the fire-natured chakra not to his mouth, but pulling it toward his right hand holding the sword.
Then—something bizarre happened.
The black blade, Dark Moon, reacted like droughted soil meeting fresh rain. Black, eerie mist swirled around Yu's right arm. The mist seeped through his skin, greedily absorbing the fire chakra and injecting it into the blade.
In an instant—
The air itself seemed to ignite, the temperature soaring.
From the hilt downward, the straight blade of Dark Moon burst into searing black flames—like Amaterasu's black fire, seemingly eternal.
"Is this... nature chakra infusion?"
Yu looked surprised. He could already predict: if Dark Moon struck an enemy now, it would come with burning damage from the fire chakra's elemental nature.
The White Zetsu who had been attacking Uchiha suddenly froze, then all turned their heads to look behind them.
They had keenly sensed the temperature in the area spike—and the air drying out fast.
White Zetsu, being masters of Wood Release, were highly sensitive to fluctuations in temperature and humidity.
Their brows arched, eyes widened, staring directly at the black-flamed sword in Yu's right hand, revealing the raw fear of a beast meeting its natural predator.
What plant doesn't fear fire…?
The White Zetsu halted their attack.
Around them, the Uchiha—who had been fighting tooth and nail—finally breathed a sigh of relief. They hurried to support their injured comrades, regrouping in case the White Zetsu launched another wave.
At the same time, everyone noticed the strange transformation in their captain, Yu.
"What jutsu… is that?"
One Uchiha stared unblinking at the black-flamed Dark Moon.
This question had gone beyond anything they'd learned.
None of his companions could answer.
Yu walked directly toward the White Zetsu, his right hand tightly gripping the burning Dark Moon. The black flames surged even higher—as if about to melt heaven and earth.
Dark Moon continued to absorb fire chakra relentlessly, sustaining its enchanted state.
Fortunately—
That pill Yu took earlier was still in effect. His current strength and chakra recovery rate were both ten times greater than normal!
Though the White Zetsu showed fear, as they faced the black flames, they all stepped back two paces—then bared their teeth again, their faces becoming feral and vicious.
They abandoned the nearby Uchiha—
And instead all charged at Yu alone.
Boom—
The searing black flames surged again. Yu swung Dark Moon, and wherever the long blade passed, it raised a wall of black fire in its wake.
His figure was agile and fluid.
He weaved gracefully through the encirclement of White Zetsu.
With every swing of Dark Moon, multiple White Zetsu were cleaved in half, and then, searing black flames immediately scorched their bodies.
These creatures possessed incredibly strong vitality—slashes from regular ninja blades or kunai wouldn't kill them.
But in the face of the unquenchable black flames that wouldn't die until all was burned, they were like dry wood awaiting the fire.
The Uchiha stood frozen in place. None of them had ever seen the techniques Yu was now using.
Izumi and Mikoto stared at him, wide-eyed and stunned.
"Don't just stand there!"
Uchiha Minami shouted as he formed hand seals, drawing chakra from his body and converting it to fire nature. He concentrated it in his throat and unleashed a Great Fireball Jutsu.
In an instant—
The rest of the Uchiha followed his lead, launching various Fire Release techniques.
Ball after ball of searing flames rained down on the clustered White Zetsu. The night sky lit up like day, smoke billowing, and fire climbing high into the heavens.
The tide of battle shifted in an instant.
Among this wave of White Zetsu, only a few remained, stunned and motionless.
What awaited them was the cold slash of Yu's Dark Moon, decapitating them—followed by their bodies being consumed in black flames.
These intense black fires took half a minute to fully die out after incinerating the White Zetsu.
In the distance—
Within the forest.
Behind the mask, Obito's Kamui Mangekyō reflected the ocean of flames, and his expression turned grim.
A pill that instantly restored strength and stamina.
A pitch-black blade burning with hellish fire.
"Just how many secrets are you hiding…?"
Obito gritted his teeth, eyes widening. He was finding it harder and harder to predict this fellow clansman.
---
Winding mountain path.
Yu had completely dominated the battlefield, thinning out the White Zetsu until the remaining few could be handled by the other Uchiha.
He stopped feeding chakra into Dark Moon.
By now, the effects of the pill had worn off.
Yu's expression showed visible fatigue.
With no more fire-nature chakra being infused, the burning black flames of Dark Moon gradually faded, revealing the pitch-black, seemingly ordinary blade beneath.
"How much longer?"
Yu asked calmly, looking at Nono.
"Eight minutes!" she replied.
Nono's expression was tense as she bit her lip. Beads of sweat formed on her forehead while her hands continued channeling medical ninjutsu.
Under the glow of green chakra, about sixty percent of Tamao's external injuries had healed—but he was far from a full recovery.
Yu furrowed his brows, then turned and walked toward the gathering of Uchiha. His cold gaze swept across the group.
The Uchiha, who were in the middle of finishing off the White Zetsu on the ground, shivered under their Captain Yu's sharp stare.
After inspecting the situation, Yu's eyes landed on Uchiha Mikoto.
He strode over and firmly grabbed her slender wrist. Ignoring her glare, he pulled her toward Nono.
This elegant woman was drenched in sweat from the battle. Her casual dress sleeves were soaked through, with a visible kunai puncture near the edge.
In the darkness of night, one might not notice it at first glance.
"What do you think you're doing!!"
Mikoto snapped, her face taut.
Riiiip— the sound of fabric tearing filled the air.
Mikoto's cheeks flushed red, and she froze. Just as the words left her lips, Yu had already torn her sleeve with a sharp motion, exposing the kunai wound on her arm.
Her skin was pale as snow.
The blood stained her slender arm a soft red.
"Uhh—"
The scene startled Nono as well. The nun's face reddened, mistakenly assuming Yu was about to do something inappropriate with this refined and striking woman right in front of her.
Suddenly, Nono felt a jolt of alertness and curiosity.
Still holding Mikoto's wrist, Yu asked, "How long to heal her wound?"
"This kind of minor injury... just over ten seconds."
Nono replied seriously, her gaze fixed on Yu.
"Heal her first."
Yu pulled the slightly resisting Mikoto in front of Nono.
"Oh! Right!"
Nono stood up, rubbing her numb thighs from crouching too long, and began channeling medical chakra to treat Mikoto.
The nearby Uchiha all lowered their heads as they cleaned up the battlefield. Still, many couldn't help but sneak glances toward Yu and Mikoto before quickly looking away again.
Just then, the sound of earth being disturbed echoed nearby.
Everyone turned.
Beneath the night sky...
Outside the battlefield, another wave of White Zetsu emerged from underground—one after another—like bamboo shoots after the rain. Their numbers were triple that of before!
At the same moment—
Mikoto's arm was fully healed.
In Yu's mind, a notification popped up.
