"Karunakara, didn't you just tell us that she agreed?" Obulesu asked dubiously. "Yes, but when I think about how plainly she nodded her head,I'm sure that she just did that for us, she showed no signs of blush, shy or something that you would expect from a girl when you mention marriage.She just nodded and closed her face with her palms. Father...." he explained what happened between them and was truly worried about her. "That's stupid, she should think for herself sometimes." he almost cursed at her. "Then, we can both go their house tomorrow or the next day and apologize to them. It would be better to tell them the earliest possible." Obulesu added. Karunakar and Obulesu were worried about Aparna dishonesty for their sake. "Is it alright for us take decision instead of her?" Obulesu mentioned suddenly. Karunakar looked perplexed, like they clearly know that she don't want that marriage and what does his father mean by that. Obulesu "we know that she was troubled by this. But did you think about what she's gone through to make such a tough decision? And ...." he paused. "Father..?" Karunakar looked at him who looked a little troubled to finish his part. Obulesu "let me talk to her myself and we'll decide once and all" he added. "Okay, father. But I think we need to hurry up so we can answer Chandra and his family." Karunakar added, he was worried about both Aparna and Chandranna. No matter the decision it will definitely hurt one of those. Karunakar was internally conflicted by those. Obulesu "okay. I already told brother Murthy that we'll answer them by the end of this week. So,we have three more days to consider. After all the things, if she's still optimistic about the marriage, we can proceed with further things. Otherwise we'll apologize to brother Murthy and his family." he replied in a deep, low tone with a hint of sadness as if he's predicting that it would definitely go astray.
Subhadra did not know about these as she was arranging the bed for them and by the she went to call for those, they were heading inside already. But she felt something has happened to him to be like that. Karunakar went to sleep. Subhadra and Obulesu lied on the bed. "Dear, is something wrong? Shouldn't we be happy that our daughter agreed?" She asked curiously as to why her husband mood suddenly shifted. "We should, when she agreed without any pressure, but Karunakar noticed that she looked like she just made that decision for us." he explained the conversation between him and Karunakar. Subhadra gasped and sat up from her lying position,"why? Doesn't she like him? They've known each other for more than ten years now." asked in confusion as she doesn't see any reason to reject them. She really wanted Aparna to marry Chandranna eventhough she didn't show that outside. She thought she could trust Chandranna and his family for her happiness. So, when she heard this, she was utterly upset. "We are not forbidden to think like that, but it's not mandatory for her to think of him like that right?" he answered her gently stroking her shoulder. Subhadra "I really thought she can be happy with them. So, when father in-law mentioned this,I was really glad that she can be looked after like we looked after her even after marriage, but..." tears fell from her eyes. "I will talk to her for the last time about this. We'll decide it afterwards." he replied her taking her into his arms,stroking her head to comfort her.
Morning....
Karunakar got up a little earlier than usual.. he went to the field. "Young master, I've already told you that I will take care of these. Why did you come so early?" Venkatappa nagged as soon as he was seen. "Uncle, I just wanted to see the spraying of pesticides. And not let them use much if possible." he tried very hard to reason his arrival. Venkatappa finally calmed down and carried on with his work. When they were working he just observed them while walking to and fro. A little while later, a slight commotion happened making the workers whisper. When he looked around, he saw an young lady coming running towards him, "what's with her everytime, making me fall for her even more deeper, what are those eyes, glistening like diamonds, but nothing can beat her smile which is reaching her eyes and ears...." he walked towards her thinking all kinds of things. She collided with him holding him tightly. He made a whimper, "Krishna Priya, are you trying to kill me yourself?" he asked her internally, hugging her back. Listening to the whispers, he took her hand and went to near by mango plantation where no one will be present. Karunakar "you seem so happy." he smiled while showing all of his teeth.
"My father,..." she said.
"Your father..." he replied leaning a little
"Told me..."
"Told you...."
"Give me.."
"Give you....?"
"YOU." she replied him looking straight into his eyes.
He hugged her as gently as possible thinking it was a dream. Krishna confirmed it by pinching his waist so hard that it left a bruise. They spent some time together as Krishna fell on his shoulder... he really wanted to get approval from his family as soon as possible.... after sometime Karunakar walked Krishna to her house and he returned to his house where his father was having breakfast.
He sat next to him, "Father, can I ask you something?" he asked his father and was prepared for the worst. Obulesu nodded. "Can I marry Krishna?" He said it aloud. "You can." His father replied and continued to eat as if nothing has happened. He asked him again and looked at his mother to confirm. She nodded. Aparna came and "why are you laughing like a crazy man, brother?" He was too stunned to speak anything. Her mother replied "Krishna will be coming to our house. Permanently." Aparna screamed at the tip of her lungs, "wait, I'll inform this to Oormila now."she went running without looking back.
Karunakar finished his food and went to krishna's house and directly went into the house, Kasthuri shown him Krishna, he went rushing towards her holding her tightly from behind "I'm so happy now." He expressed his immense joy. She too replied the same.....
Caught kissing by Kasthuri, both of their faces filled with shy and guilt, Krishna ran into her room, pitiful Karunakar had to stay behind to hear the lecture about not touching her before marriage. He nodded okay and took his leave.
From there he went to farm Siva works
