Chapter 18 : Scorched Pillar
Scorched Pillar is the codename for two great mages from the Veltrazia kingdom who at that time both of them managed to destroy the city of ironval with their magic abilities. At that time, the city of ironval became a city filled with dark magic users, or you could say it was the headquarters of dark magic. This made the entire Veltrazia kingdom excited and afraid of them if at any time they attacked the Veltrazia kingdom.
Therefore, the Scorched Pillar attacked the city only the two of them. They were siblings, and at that time the city of ironval was filled with hot flames and large rocks made of earth falling from above trying to destroy the city and the people there. However, at that time they also accidentally killed several innocent people who were held hostage by the Dark Mage group.
Because of that, the Scorched Pillar wavered slightly when attacking the city, and this gave the dark mage group a chance to strike back at them. The two great mages were also affected by the dark mage's attack which caused one of these great mages to experience 'Arcane Decay' or damage to mana due to unstable control which resulted in it attacking his own body.
But in the end, the Scorched Pillar still managed to destroy the city, even though his sister was affected by the mana damage. What disappointed the Scorched Pillar was that no one in the Veltrazia kingdom was able to cure his sister's illness, even a great alchemist from the Veltrazia kingdom could not do anything. Because of that, the Scorched Pillar decided to leave the Veltrazia kingdom's army and just become an ordinary citizen in order to find someone who could cure his sister.
After Dimmel told the story, Theo was very surprised to hear the story. A great mage could also have a disease even though a mage could be said to live longer and could make his body stay young.
But at that moment suddenly Knight Cedric came, who approached Theo's dining place. Knight Cedric gave the results of his search.
"Forgive me young master, I have only received a little information over the past few days." Knight Cedric said to Theo with a hint of guilt.
Knight Cedric informed that it is currently a bit difficult to find the mages Daria Earthwalker and Alden Emberstone. This is because they can both hide their pure energy or mana which makes it difficult for the Knights and other great mages to detect their presence.

Meanwhile, the mage Daria, just watched and her face looked pale as if she was sick. This did not make these two great mages feel pressured, because according to their codename as Scorched Pillar, they both prepared to fight Knight Cedric and Theo.
"Ugh what bad luck! That pressure just now made it hard for me to breathe. And now I have to face this A Rank mage?" Theo said, slightly panicking, because he only brought one Knight, namely Knight Cedric who had an A Rank.
Since neither side said anything, their fight ensued.

A large fireball explosion thrown by the mage Daria, made what used to be many dense trees become scorched and only barren land or land was visible due to being burned by fire. Knight Cedric managed to avoid the explosion while carrying Theo so that he would not be hit by the big explosion.
