Chapter 9 - Ch. 9: Dimensional Chat Group(2)

Ch. 9: Dimensional Chat Group(2)

--<3rd PoV>--

In a vasty different city, with aesthetics and even people quite different and unique compared to Ray's world.

It was a literal definition of fantasy world with, with even the air screaming XianXia.

In the outer courtyard of the Shriek Academy, a young female disciple sat alone watching the morning sun rise, purple energy swirling around her. Her long black hair flowed like silk, tied loosely with a pale violet ribbon. Her violet eyes shimmered like twin amethysts, sharp and focused.

Though clad in a simple Academy clothes, it could not hide her striking figure—tall, graceful, and impossibly poised. Her beauty was the kind that made onlookers forget to breathe, yet her aura was distant and untouchable, like the moon reflected in water.

The world was quiet, save for the soft rustle of leaves and the occasional chirp of birds from the distant forest.

Then—

"Good morning, Senior Sister~!"

A chipper voice rang out like sunlight breaking through clouds.

The girl blinked. The purple glow in her eyes faded as she turned her head.

Bounding across the courtyard in light steps was her roommate, Jiang Nannan, her golden-blonde hair tied in a loose braid, her face radiant with cheer. She carried a small cloth bundle and waved it in the air. "You're up again before sunrise, aren't you tired of always cultivating?"

She let out a small sigh, lips curling faintly. "Discipline is the foundation of strength."

Nannan plopped down beside her and grinned. "Strength can wait until after breakfast. I brought steamed buns. Mushroom and spirit herb—your favorite!"

Her smile faded slightly. Her gaze shifted back toward the horizon, her voice dropping into something low and almost uncertain.

"…Nannan. Can you see it?"

"Huh?" Jiang Nannan blinked, halfway through unwrapping the bundle. "See what?"

The girl slowly raised her hand, pointing to the space just above the training field. A jade-colored screen hovered there with shimmering edges.

"There," She whispered. "A jade screen… like a floating talisman. You really don't see it?"

Nannan frowned and tilted her head, staring into the space Tang Ya pointed at. "Are you okay? Maybe you trained a little too hard this time... I don't see anything."

Her's breath hitched. Her pupils contracted slightly.

It was real.

She could see it. She could feel it.

The jade screen glowed brighter—and then lines of glowing text unfurled before her violet eyes.

[Ding! You have been chosen by the Multiversal Dao.]

[The Dimensional Chat Group invites you to ascend beyond the confines of your world and make new friends.]

[To make new friends and grow strong along with them. Would you like to accept the invitation?]

[Accept] [Reject]

A strange warmth rose within her stomach, making her feel like she had an opportunity infront of her with she should grasp at any cost!

Nannan was still talking beside her, unaware of the divine screen or its call.

The girl stood slowly, her voice calm but resolute. "Nannan, can you please tell Teacher Zhou Yi I won't be joining the morning drills."

"Eh? Why?! Don't you know what kind of demon she is?"

"I need to… look into something. Just tell them I accidently injured myself when practicing."

Before Jiang Nannan could respond, the girl had already left.

Walking out of towards her room as he tapped [Accept].

...

In a pirate vs marine themed island city.

In a restaurant, a beautiful woman dressed in light blue clothes matching her hair, was enjoying her lunch.

Suddenly, a certain holographic screen appeared in front of her, startling her greatly.

She choked on her food, and in a panic, she accidentally touched the [accept] option.

...

In a Murim styled world where Martial arts reign supreme.

In the outer courtyard of the Sound Clan, a fifteen-year-old girl stood alone beneath the blazing noon sun. Her long dark brown hair was tied back with a flowing silk ribbon, the strands gleaming faintly under the light.

Her light blue eyes—cold, sharp, and focused like tempered steel—swept across the empty courtyard in silence.

She was striking in appearance: tall, graceful, and impossibly poised. Her face, beautiful yet distant, carried an expression shaped by discipline and restraint. Unlike the plain robes of common disciples, she wore a finely tailored training uniform adorned with silver-threaded sigils—symbols of her status within the clan.

With each swing of her wooden training sword, the air seemed to sing. Her movements were elegant and precise, filled with purpose—like a crane gliding through storm winds.

Then, she suddenly stopped.

A translucent screen appeared before her, floating in the air.

[Ding! You have been chosen by the will Martial Arts.]

[The Dimensional Chat Group invites you to ascend beyond the confines of your world and make new friends.]

[To make new friends and to become strongest in your world. Would you like to accept the invitation?]

[Accept] [Reject]

Her sharp eyes narrowed slightly as she read the message. An intrigued expression surfaced on her face—curiosity mixed with a hint of distrust and disdain.

"Strongest in the world really? I would also like to see how."

But interest won out.

Without hesitation, she tapped the [Accept] option.

...

In a world with aesthetics and style quite similar to Ray's, yet vastly different in terms of technological advancement...

In a spacious office room filled with soft lighting and a quiet hum of machinery, a very beautiful woman with golden hair sat at her desk. Papers and documents towered around her like walls of obligation, yet her brilliant eyes burned with a fire that screamed, "I can do it all!"

Suddenly, a strange holographic screen materialized right in front of her.

"W-What in the name of virtual screens is this?!" she exclaimed in fright, momentarily frozen as her brain scrambled to process the sight. Was someone breaching the security of her territory? That shouldn't have been possible.

What shocked her even more was that, even after she activated every single network jammer installed in her mansion, the mysterious screen remained—completely unaffected.

Startled and unsettled, she stepped away from her desk, hoping to escape the projection. But to her growing horror, the screen followed her. No matter where she walked, be it hall, garden, bedroom, bathroom, it stayed at eye level, floating silently just out of reach.

"NO!!!" she shouted, nearly stumbling as she backed into a wall.

'Is this what losing privacy feels like?' she thought with a mix of dread and disbelief.

She even called her maid and pointed at the screen, expecting a shared reaction—but all she got was a tilted head and a worried smile. "Madam, I think you are working too much these days. You should… um, probably take some rest."

Clenching her fists, the woman returned to her desk. She had observed the screen for a long while now, and no matter what angle she viewed it from, no clear mechanism or signal origin could be identified.

"Let's see what it is then!" she said aloud with a breath of resolution.

With no alternatives left, and a flicker of both curiosity and frustration in her gaze, she decided to face the unknown like the strong-willed woman she was.

With determination blazing once more in her eyes, she pressed [Accept].

...

Back to Ray.

He sat at the tableware, silently having his breakfast, feeling the soft morning breeze and the slight warmth of the morning sun as it seeped through the leaves of the trees surrounding him.

Birds chirped faintly in the background, and the gentle rustling of branches lent a peaceful rhythm to the start of his day.

He looked at the Dimensional Chat Group interface with a curious and intrigued expression, his fingers lightly tapping against the wooden table as he studied the unfamiliar screen.

At this point, his eyes were focused on the nickname the chat group had provided him.

Fallen Noble.

If he were the previous Ray, he would've screamed the moment he heard that name—proclaiming with pride that he was still a noble, the noblest of them all.

But the Ray now had changed. He had awakened his past-life memories and was no longer the stuck-up brat his predecessor had been.

Though in essence, not much had changed about him—his age, his habits, his skills—but the influx of new memories gave him a broader perspective and made him reflect differently on his life choices so far.

So, he didn't mind whatever his nickname was. That was, until someone pointed it out—and in the very first message, no less.

[Daughter of the Demon Lord: @Fallen Noble What the hell is a fallen doing, in the group of nobles and leaders?]

[Fallen Noble: I am Admin.]

[Daughter of the Demon Lord: Hah? So what? To think a fallen would dare to-]

[Fallen Noble(Admin) has muted Daughter of the Demon Lord for 25 minutes.]

At her world, for a few moments she just started at the screen for a few minutes, before realization crept onto her.

"Bastard! How dare you mute me!" Cheon Wonryou shouted in fury. Though more insults followed, but sadly her words could not pass through the chatgroup. No one could hear her rant, making her feel even more humiliated.

[Fallen Noble: Alright, since the nuisance is gone, we can start introducing ourselves. As we just received all the briefing about rules and all, I will skip that. My name is Ray Virelios. I like to research, make magic tools, and smart people. There are many things I don't like, and it is a fact that I am the Admin of this Dimensional Chat Group. So be careful what you say to me—I can mute you not only for minutes but for days as well.]

Ray said this as he continued eating his breakfast, thinking it might take some time, but messages would start pouring in soon.

And so, he returned to his routine—enjoying his meal while casually chatting with his lovely maid, who busied herself with light chores nearby.

Time passed.

More time passed.

Nothing.

Not a single message appeared.

Ray squinted at the screen. 'What the hell is going on? Everyone's online, but no one's talking? Are the rest of them muted too? Or was that girl the only loudmouth here?'

He didn't realize that his heavy-handed entrance—muting someone immediately—had put the entire group on edge.

Concerned that the silence might drive them to log off, he decided to break the ice. So revealed some information he got from his admin privileges.

[Fallen Noble: Everyone, please start introducing yourselves. There is a reward for this by the system.]

That got their attention.

[Desert Country Princess: …I suppose there's no harm in introducing myself. My name is Vivi Nefertari, I live in Alabasta country and am the daughter of the king. You can call me Vivi for short. I don't have anything specific about me which is worth sharing, so that's all for now.]

'It may not be real. But if I dismiss it outright, I might lose out on something important,' she thought, leaning back in her chair, looking out of window, enjoying the wind of sea which appeared quite different to this island than her own kingdom.

'As expected, vacations are the best!' She thought while while taking a sip of the coconut water she carried in her hands.

[Last Descendent of Tang Sect: I'm Tang Ya from Shrek Academy. The invitation message said, that this group will help me become strong while also allowing me to make new friends. So, I hope you guys can be my potential friends.]

Her words were cautious, yet carried warmth. 'Even if the reward's a lie, isn't it worse to not even hope?' she told herself, lips forming a faint smile.

[Intergalactic Dukedom's Heir: ...Ugh. I don't usually talk to strangers, but... since everyone else is doing it... I-I guess I'll go too. I'm... Rosetta Sereh Claudia. That's it.]

Her fingers hovered over the interface for several seconds before pressing send. She let out a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding.

'T-that was exhausting... I hope that was enough,' she thought, shrinking back into her chair as if the chat window might reach out and judge her.

Just as the last introduction wrapped up, a chime rang out. The last person's mute time also expired.

[Daughter of the Demon Lord: You mongrel! How dare you silence me! Do you even know who I am? I'm the daughter of the Demon Lord, the niece of the Sound Clan's supreme elder—Cheon Wonryou! You think just because you're some chat group admin you can silence—]

[Fallen Noble: Thank you for introducing yourself.]

[Fallen Noble (Admin) has muted Daughter of the Demon Lord for 1 hour.]

"AAAAARRRGH!" Cheon Wonryou screamed, fists shaking in impotent rage as she nearly broke her chair in half.

A soft chime echoed in everyone's interface.

[All members have completed the Introduction Quest!]

[Please select one of the following Beginner Rewards!]

A set of glowing options appeared before each member.

Ray smirked as he leaned back and sipped his tea.

"Finally," he muttered.
