Han Xi was giving Lu Jinghan a chance to explain.
Lu Jinghan gently cupped Han Xi's small face with both hands and tenderly kissed her lips: "Things like that will never happen again. Don't worry, I'm here."
Han Xi's heart twinged with pain, realizing that to Lu Jinghan, she really wasn't that important.
"You should go. I have to work now." Han Xi turned around and sat down at her desk.
"Then I'll come pick you up tonight."
"No need, I have plans tonight." Han Xi's voice was flat and somewhat distant, something Lu Jinghan noticed.
"Xiao Xi, what's wrong?"
Han Xi kept her head down, organizing cases, avoiding his gaze: "I need to work now, please leave."
Lu Jinghan's brow furrowed slightly, but his voice remained gentle: "Alright, you take care of your work, and I'll come pick you up after you get off."
