Chapter 27 - CHAPTER 27

On a private island, on a scenic beach, Slade Wilson, who was enjoying his vacation, was awakened by the sudden ringing of his phone.

It wasn't a phone call, but a system notification he had set up himself, which would only activate when a high-value bounty mission appeared.

He pulled out a phone the size of a brick from the pocket of his floral print board shorts. Don't be fooled by its ugliness; its functions were extremely powerful!

This phone was resistant to being smashed or dropped, sand-proof, and waterproof. Apart from being a bit bulky, it had no drawbacks! It could even be used as a weapon if necessary!

He manually unlocked the screen, scrolled to the recent system notification, opened the link, and glanced at the bounty details.

"Hmm?!"

His eyes widened!

For a moment, Slade suspected he wasn't fully awake. He rubbed his eyes hard, cleared out the sleep gunk, and then carefully looked at the bounty amount again: units, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands, hundred thousands, millions, ten millions, hundred millions!

"Holy sh*t, a five-hundred-million-dollar job! Just to steal a glowing green stick! These rich people are truly insane."

"Mission location is Bruce Wayne's Wayne Manor?"

"Hmm... this is indeed a bit troublesome, but this price is very good. I'll take the job."

Slade's rough fingers quickly operated the brick phone.

[Ding... VIP. Deathstroke, has accepted the commission.]

"Ah~~~, rested enough, time to get to work!"

After stretching lazily, Slade got up and left his vacation beach. He returned to his villa to organize the equipment he would need.

......

Meanwhile, Deadshot, who had just taken out a councilman, also received the bounty information.

"Hmm? This mission, multiple people can take it? It's been years since a mission like this came up..."

The phone showed that thirteen people had already accepted the mission! One of them even had a colorful VIP title; it was the legend of the mercenary world: Deathstroke!

"With such a high reward, it's normal for him to take this mission! The location is... Wayne Manor? Fuck, I don't want to mess with that cross-dresser!"

Deadshot had once taken a mission in Gotham and been beaten up by Batman during a night patrol. The memory still made him a little apprehensive; he had almost been locked up in Blackgate Prison!

Recalling the unpleasant past, he cursed and closed the mission list. He was also afraid he might be tempted and then go to Gotham to get himself killed!

......

Wayne Manor, Gotham.

Max was watching "Animal World: Africa Edition." The place with the most animals in the world. He was seriously studying how to better utilize animalistic bodies for combat!

The randomly transforming Omnitrix had one major drawback so far: the transformation was unknown!

He wasn't like the protagonist of "Ben 10," who could transform into the same alien multiple times and develop the alien's physical potential, allowing for better combat.

But Max, he could only quickly adapt to the body within an hour and use this randomly generated body for fighting!

He transformed frequently also to adapt his responsiveness! Like the last time he turned into a fish, he learned to advance by hopping with his tail!

So, while it was safe now, he needed to watch more wild beasts from the natural world!

Watching how they moved, how they fought, how they hunted. To adapt faster, learning and imitation were especially important!

[TV Announcer: "Spring has arrived, all things revive, and it is once again the mating season for animals..."]

Jason, passing by, looked at the scene on the TV that seemed to require pixelation, and commented, "You're watching this? This is what you call studying?"

Max shot him a sideways glance and explained:

"You country bumpkin, wild beasts are only at their most ferocious when hunting or in heat. If I want to learn their fighting styles, I have to watch this. The records in Animal World are the most comprehensive!"

"...Alright then! Whatever makes you happy!"

"Let's have lunch first, young sirs!" Alfred walked over to remind them. "Watching television for extended periods is not good for your eyesight. Remember to take a nap after your meal. Your combat training for today can be done later..."

Max appeared quite agitated, mainly because Alfred the butler managed too many things, which made it difficult for someone like him, who was used to being unrestrained, to adapt.

Although Max initially felt it was great to have a butler, as he didn't have to do anything, now he only found Alfred long-winded and troublesome!

"Stop, stop, Alfred, I know, I'll pay attention! Let's eat first, let's eat first!"

Alfred smiled slightly, bowed shallowly, and elegantly invited the two to the dining room.

At the dining table, Max devoured meat in large bites and drank beverages by the bowlful. Hmm, he knew some table manners, but he hadn't learned much. In his view, since the food was served separately anyway, all that mattered was finishing what was in his bowl. Being overly elegant would only waste his study time!

When he was about eighty percent full, Max inquired, "Where's Bruce? I haven't seen him for two days."

"Master Bruce has gone to Wayne Enterprises for a meeting, handling some company issues. Young Master Max, are there any other questions?"

"Yes, how is Aunt Selina? Did he manage to persuade her to come back?"

"Master Bruce already met Miss Selina yesterday. They have a plan to deal with the Court of Owls. Master Bruce will keep an eye on her, you can rest assured."

"Alright, thanks, Alfred."

Max verbally expressed his thanks, but he was still somewhat worried in his heart. The Court of Owls was no small matter; the secrets behind them were too dangerous. Knowing too much could get one killed!

Batman hadn't even fully assembled his Bat-Family yet. How could he fight the Court of Owls? He couldn't win, you know.

He arrived at the training hall. It was very spacious, with mirrors serving as walls all around, perfect for recognizing who he had become at first glance!

"Training, training! After watching so much primal animal combat, I feel incredibly strong right now! Hero transformation!"

Bang!

A green light flashed past.

The transformed, brawny hero turned his head to look at the surrounding mirrors, which reflected his image.

Wearing a small purple leaf vest and a purple skirt-like garment, his body was bulging with veins popping on his muscles, and his chiseled face screamed "invincible"!

"Is this the goofy Seventh Brother from 'One Hundred Thousand Bad Jokes'? The one with super weak attacks, who dies from blood loss after pulling the gourd off his head? That idiot? No way..."

Upon seeing this image, Max recognized him immediately. It was because Seventh Brother's art style was different from the other Calabash Brothers; he had a Hong Kong comic "hard man" style, which gave him an "invincible" face that was very easy to recognize!

"What can this guy do? Act silly... No! He's still a Calabash Brother, he can't be this useless."

"Calm down! I need to focus! Focus! Get your brain working, dammit! Unleash your world-shattering wisdom, you brute!"

"Wait! World-shattering wisdom! Hahahahahaha, I've got it! I've got it! The world-shattering wisdom of Hong Kong comics!"

Just in that moment of thought, Max had discovered Seventh Brother's strengths!

Although Seventh Brother looked useless, ineffective, and all brawn with no real power, just as he employed his "world-shattering wisdom," he had an epiphany!

"So that's it, what's truly terrifying about Seventh Brother is his horrifying world-shattering wisdom, dammit!"

Max wasn't daydreaming, nor was he joking.

As the only Calabash Brother with an art style different from his other brothers, Seventh Brother's power was related to his Hong Kong comic style!

He possessed perks like a Hong Kong comic protagonist! Powerful learning ability! Powerful creativity! A powerful art style and an invincible face!

As long as Max desired a technique to become stronger, or even just had the impulse to become stronger! Seventh Brother's world-shattering wisdom would create the desired technique in an unbelievable way!

For example, the power of Magnetic Field Reversal (Magnetic Field Maniac)!

Magnetic Field Rotation, dammit!

With Max's current body, he could completely cultivate it! In the future, he could also become a truly powerful expert!

The more he thought about it, the more excited he became. Seventh Brother, striding with the gait of a mighty warrior, found Alfred and said with a "nuclear-kind" (menacingly friendly) expression:

"Alfred, please trouble yourself to prepare some paper and a pen for me. I have a genius idea in my head that needs to be written down now, it's very urgent!"

Alfred was initially startled by the muscle-bound man, but when he saw the green symbol on Seventh Brother's chest, he breathed a sigh of relief.

Hearing the request, Alfred went straight to the study to get paper and a pen.

"Holy crap, bro, have you been secretly working out behind my back? It's only been a short while, and your muscles have gotten so much bigger!"

Jason wasn't that shocked; he was just teasing, teasing this big guy, Seventh Brother!

Seventh Brother turned his head, his invincible face carrying an inherent pressure. Towards this good brother, he merely smiled faintly, thinking to himself that when he wrote down the peerless secret manual later, he would definitely share it with him.

However, this smile, in Jason's eyes, was filled with horror (Evil_grin_of_a_buff_man.JPG).

Jason got goosebumps all over just from that one glance!

It seems this guy's DNA is very strong!

"Bro, how come this alien looks just like an Earthling? Could it be that he's not an alien?"

Seventh Brother was silent for a moment, then turned his head, looked Jason straight in the eyes, and said with a serious expression: "To be precise, this character I am is a 'plant person' (person in a vegetative state/plant-based being)."

"?" Jason was dumbfounded, "Huh?"

Your plant person is as buff as a primitive man? His muscles are straining his clothes!

"If you don't want to say, then don't. Why mess with me?"

Seventh Brother wagged his finger:

"No, I'm not messing with you, nor am I deceiving you. Essentially, you can understand me as a gourd."

"..." Jason covered his face with his hand. Here it comes, Max's characteristic post-transformation inability to speak human language! Here it comes!

Either he can't speak human language, or the words he speaks are incomprehensible to humans.

"Young Master Max, the paper and pen you requested!"

Alfred appeared just in time to break the awkwardness, holding a parchment codex and a handcrafted pure silver fountain pen.

"Many thanks!"

Seventh Brother expressed his gratitude, then walked to the nearest table and began to write furiously!

As time passed, the way he wrote became increasingly crazed, and he would laugh out loud from time to time.

This gave Jason the distinct feeling of watching the Joker break loose!

"Beep-beep-beep-beep...! Bang!"

The transformation time was up, and Max changed back again!

Once he changed back, the inspiration was cut off; the boost from the "world-shattering wisdom" was gone!

Although his expression still carried excitement, his hands were trembling uncontrollably. A peerless martial arts secret manual! He had actually created it!

Then his expression froze. He didn't know if he should practice it. Without Seventh Brother's world-shattering wisdom, he didn't know if he could still learn it!

Opening the parchment book filled with writing, Max began to examine it carefully.

From a normal person's perspective, one glance would make them think this was utter bullshit!

However, Max knew that this was indeed a peerless secret manual! Personally compiled by him, and specially polished with Seventh Brother's world-shattering wisdom!

"As expected of a peerless divine technique, just one look makes my head spin!"
