Elliot's world seemed endless, a barren landscape of black stone and swirling mists. The air was thick, heavy with tension. This was no ordinary simulation—it was a world constructed solely for him to face his deepest fears, his greatest weaknesses. Here, there were no distractions, no teammates. Just him. And his opponent.

The Shadow Knight stood before him, its dark, ethereal form flickering in and out of existence. Its armor was made of the same shifting shadows that Elliot had always felt a strange connection to, but now, they seemed almost alien, like they were mocking him. The knight's eyes glowed a blood-red hue, an ominous light casting a long shadow over the battlefield. Its sword, also made of pure shadow, gleamed like a blade forged from darkness itself.

Elliot clenched his katana tightly, his knuckles white. He knew this fight was important. Not just for his training, but for something much deeper. He had to overcome this enemy—not just physically, but mentally. This knight wasn't just a projection; it was a manifestation of his own fears, doubts, and the darkness that resided within him.

The Shadow Knight raised its sword, and in an instant, it was on him. The sound of metal against metal filled the air as Elliot barely managed to block the knight's first strike. The force behind the blow sent a jolt through his arms, nearly knocking him off balance. He staggered but quickly regained his footing. His eyes locked onto the knight, trying to find an opening, trying to see the weakness in its seemingly impenetrable defense.

But there was none. Every strike, every movement, was calculated. Precise. And each time, Elliot found himself one step behind.

"Why can't I do this?" Elliot grunted as he parried another blow, his katana barely deflecting the shadow knight's strike. He could feel his heart racing, adrenaline flooding his system, but his body wasn't responding as it should. His attacks were too slow, his movements too stiff. The knight's every strike was like a hammer falling on his defenses.

"You're weak." The voice of the shadow knight echoed in Elliot's mind, mocking him. "You're nothing but a pale imitation of what you could be. Your shadows will never answer you. You will never be strong enough."

Elliot's vision blurred for a moment, a wave of self-doubt crashing over him. The knight was right—he wasn't strong enough. He had always been told he was special, that he had power, but now it felt like it was slipping away from him. The energy inside him, the connection to the shadows, felt like a distant memory. He couldn't control it, couldn't tap into it the way he needed to.

The knight lunged at him again, slashing downward. Elliot barely managed to dodge, rolling to the side just in time. He hit the ground hard, pain shooting through his body. He grimaced, pushing himself up, sweat dripping down his face. His katana felt heavier than ever, and the shadows seemed to mock him, swirling around him, teasing him with their power.

He had to get up. He had to win. There was no other option.

"Draw. Visualize. Release."

The words echoed in his mind like a lifeline, pulling him from his spiraling thoughts. It was Leo's voice, the words he had spoken during training, but now they felt like they had new meaning. He wasn't just fighting a knight. He was fighting his own doubts, his own weaknesses. And to win, he needed to trust in the power that had always been with him—the shadows.

With a deep breath, Elliot closed his eyes for a moment, ignoring the battle raging around him. He focused, reaching inward, drawing on the shadows inside. The energy was still there, he could feel it pulsing, waiting for him to grasp it. He visualized the blade of his katana not as an ordinary sword, but as a conduit—a bridge between him and the shadows.

He could see it now. A slash of dark energy, sharp and precise, cutting through the air like a wave of darkness.

"Release."

He opened his eyes just in time to see the Shadow Knight raise its sword for another crushing blow. Elliot stepped forward, his katana raised high, but this time, something was different. He could feel the shadows flowing through him, swirling around the blade. As he swung, the darkness erupted from his katana, a slash of pure shadow tearing through the air with a deafening roar.

The Shadow Slash hit the knight with devastating force. The creature staggered back, its form flickering as if the darkness itself was being torn apart. The slash left a trail of blackened air in its wake, a visible sign of the power Elliot had just unleashed.

The knight's movements faltered, and for the first time in the fight, Elliot saw it hesitate. He didn't waste the opportunity. With a roar, he launched himself forward, summoning more shadows, feeding them into his strike. The Shadow Slash came again, faster this time, more precise. And this time, it cut through the knight completely. The shadows around it dissipated like smoke in the wind, leaving nothing behind but a lingering echo of defeat.

Elliot stood panting, his body trembling from the effort, but there was no time to rest. He had won, but the fight was far from over. He had finally unlocked the power within him, the power of the Shadow Slash. The shadows no longer felt like an enemy—now, they were a part of him.

The world around him began to crumble, the desert landscape fading away as the simulation came to an end. But Elliot didn't feel the fear or uncertainty he had once known. Instead, he felt a deep sense of relief, as if a heavy weight had been lifted from his shoulders. He had faced his doubts and fears, and he had emerged victorious.

"This is only the beginning."

The words echoed in his mind as the simulation faded, the world around him dissolving into darkness. But Elliot knew one thing for certain—he was no longer the same. The shadows were his allies now, and he would wield them with power, precision, and control
