Professor Seren didn't move even a bit at first, but then—
She started studying Emil's face with her keen eyes as if she were peering through his words and measuring the weight behind them.
"Why?" She finally asked. "Would a student of your age need access to soul-binding records?"
Emil didn't even flinch on her statement. He stepped forward, keeping his voice low and calm, filled with sincerity. "Because someone I know of, is going to die in a while if we don't act soon. A classmate—Alaric Veylen—has been hearing voices for a while now, and he is about to lose control over his own body. He told us about it himself, so I'm sure that there is one more soul in his body."
Emil lied with a small truth. He lied about not using his system to figure out the other soul in the body of Alaric Veylen.
Her eyebrow twitched slightly.
