Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Rose De Algeria

She was looking so pale. Her golden skin was white like paper. No one was mourning, it was all an act. I know that nobody cares whether she's dead or not, afterall she was long dead before. Always acting like a lifeless doll. Her long red hair was grabbing too much attention in the glass casket filled with white camellias as if her cold corpse was filled with fury and rage.

There she was, my mother whom I never addressed as 'mother', addressed? I don't even remember talking to her once. My eyes were always in front and tried my best to ignore the pitiful woman who was behind me staring at me with eyes full of desperation and longing trying her best to make her only son atleast look at her. How did the once regal and graceful Princess Rose De Algeria of Kingdom Orlanthia end up as a pathetic cold corpse as the Duchess of Ravienne? A noble princess deprived of her husband and only son's love.

There were less people than I anticipated afterall my mother was once the jewel of the high society so why? The Imperial family already paid their condolences and were headed back. How could they? They should be here, by her side, probably crying and blaming my father but no one is here and my father is no exception. He said he would be here, didn't he, so where is he? I don't know why am I acting so desperate when I wouldn't have been here too if this incident were to take place a few years later. How pathetic, isn't it? No wonder she said I was just like my father. So damn pathetic. Yes. My father is the most horrible and pathetic man I have ever seen.

By the time I let these thoughts fill my head it's already my turn to pay my condolences. I lift the white lily and let it twirl between my fingers for a second more before placing it on the casket and closing my eyes to pray. I have been a bad son but I am not that bad of a person so, I truly wish that your soul finds peace, finally. Mother.
