Chapter 9 - Chapter 8: The World Without Them

Silence.

No alarms.

No loops.

No resets.

Just… a quiet hum.

Ayaan opened his eyes.

He was lying on a bench at a train station.

Empty.

No people.

No signs.

Only one screen blinked:

Welcome to the End.

He stood up slowly.

His phone? Gone.

His bag? Missing.

No memories of how he got here.

Only a fog in his mind,

and a name echoing faintly—

"Anaya…"

He didn't know who she was.

But he knew he had to find her.

Elsewhere…

Anaya walked through a glass city.

People passed her by.

No one looked twice.

No one spoke.

She searched the reflections in every window.

Every mirror.

Every puddle.

But none of them showed her face.

"Why can't I see myself?" she whispered.

She stopped in front of a bookstore.

A sign read:

"The Girl Who Never Was."

Inside—

A book.

No title.

No author.

Just one page:

"She was erased to save him."

She stumbled back.

A tear slipped down.

But she didn't know why.

Both of them wandered.

Different streets.

Different cities.

But with each step, the fog in their minds thinned.

• A voice.

• A touch.

• A kiss on a rainy day.

• A promise at 12:12.

"We'll always find each other.

That promise began to burn through the void.

Then

In the middle of the city square,

Ayaan saw it.

A clock tower.

Broken.

Stuck at 12:12.

Something snapped inside him.

His head spun.

The world twisted.

And memories came rushing back—

• The loops.

• The chamber.

• Cycle Zero.

• Anaya.

"ANAYA!" he screamed.

Across the city—

Her heart stopped.

She clutched her chest.

"Ayaan…"

She remembered.

They ran.

No maps. No directions.

But their souls pulled them like magnets.

Back to each other.

Back to where it began.

They collided in the street, breathless.

Eyes wide.

Hearts racing.

Memories flooding in like a dam breaking.

"You found me," she said.

"Even when the world forgot us…

I never could."

But the city began to collapse around them.

This world—without them—was rejecting their presence.

Time warped.

Skyscrapers dissolved into sand.

People vanished into smoke.

The ground cracked beneath their feet.

A voice boomed from the sky:

"THIS LOOP CANNOT HOLD YOU."

"CHOOSE: Stay erased… or reset."

They held hands.

"We've run long enough," Ayaan said.

"Let's face whatever comes. Together."

Anaya nodded.

"Even if it ends us."

They looked up.

"We choose… to REMEMBER."

The world shattered.

But they stood still.

Wrapped in light.

Wrapped in memory.

Wrapped in each other.

And as everything went black

They heard it.

Tickkk… Tickkkk… Tickkkk…

One final sound.

Then—

Silence.
