I should have known something was up when Nathan insisted on blindfolding me after dinner.
"Trust me," he'd said, in that infuriatingly smooth voice of his—the one that made me want to both slap him and kiss him at the same time.
I, of course, had scoffed. "If this is some weird billionaire roleplay where you're going to 'kidnap' me, I swear to God, Nathan—"
"Would you relax?" He'd laughed, sliding the silk scarf over my eyes. "It's not kidnapping if you're legally my wife."
"That's exactly what a kidnapper would say."
But here I was, blindfolded, being led—somewhere—by my ridiculously tall, ridiculously handsome husband, who had the audacity to smell like expensive cologne and sin. I could hear the distant hum of an engine, the crisp night air biting at my exposed arms. Then—steps. Metal ones.
Oh, you have got to be kidding me.
